I’m Harry Potter - Chapter 14
Agnok took me to a room with a giant furnace, tools, and equipment. He took a seat on a stool and offered me the same.
“I take it you want a bastard sword.” Agnok stated.
“Yes, do you have a list of enchantments and is there a limit to how many can be placed on it.” I asked.
“Only five enchantments per weapon anymore and your sword would crumble to pieces. All goblin silver swords are made with an unbreakable and preservation enchantments. To keep the sword whole and maintained. So you can pick three enchantments from this list” He said handing me a list. I look over the list scanning every word.
“I want the resizing and gravity enchantments. I’m still young and a giant and heavy sword would be impossible to wield. It would also surprise my enemy’s when I swing my sword and right before it hits them it grows and weighs a ton.” I said.
“That can be done and the last enchantment?” he asked
“I want something a bit more specific that isn’t on the list. Can you make the blade of the sword vibrate at a very high rate?” I requested. I wanted a Vibro-blade from star wars.
“I don’t foresee any problems with that, but why would you want your sword to vibrate?” He said.
“do you have swords you practice enchantments on? (he nodded) Then try and make the blade of one vibrate as fast as you can and then test the sword.” I said. Agnok grunted and went to grab a sword kicking me out of the forge. Apparently, non-goblins aren’t allowed to even watch goblin blacksmiths work. Twenty minutes later and I was invited back to see a shocked blacksmith standing next to an anvil that was cut cleanly in half.
“I see you tested the sword. Now, do you understand my choice?” I said smiling at his shocked face.
“Hahahaha the surprises never stop with you do they boy. Alright, off with you, I have a masterpiece to make.” He said shoving me out of his workshop. In the hall, I met Barrat who escorted me out of the bank and assured me he would owl when the sword is finished.
Once I got home I started preparing for the creation of my first familiar a basilisk. The thought that a basilisk is made by hatching a chicken egg beneath a toad is wrong and just plain stupid. I learned this when I asked Salazar how he got the basilisk in the chamber of secrets. He was surprised I even knew about it, but I used the trusty house-elf excuse. The real way to make a basilisk is to have a snake lay an egg in a potion made from dragons blood, Acromantula poison, and other ingredients(yes snakes lay eggs I looked it up). Leaving the egg submerged in the potion under a warming charm until it hatches.
So I sent my elves on a search for a snake that is close to laying its eggs. They found a black mamba and took me there to speak to it. Mimsy apparated me to what looked like the African savanna. A few meters in front of me was a female (pregnant?) black mamba hissing at me.
“~You don’t have to be wary I mean you no harm~” I hissed in parseltongue.
“~A speaker? What do you want young one~” she said her attitude changing from hostility to curiosity.
“~I want one of your offspring as my familiar~” I asked.
“~It would be my honor to have a child of mine be the familiar of a speaker. Alas, nothing in this world is free, do one thing for me and you can have the first egg I lay~” she hissed.
“~what do you need?~” I asked.
“~Nothing hard for a wizard such as yourself. Theirs a mongoose to the west of here, kill it and bring its corpse here as proof~” she hissed. I was a little surprised I expected something more grand, but then I remembered I’m dealing with an animal.
“~Sure that’s not a problem at all. I’ll get it done now~” I said.
“Mimsy, there’s a mongoose to the west of our location have the elves go and kill it. Make sure to bring its body back here as proof.” I say and Mimsy called a squad of elves to get the job done.
Five minutes later my elves returned with the corpse of a mongoose. When the black mamba saw the dead body it hissed in delight. I guess they were mortal enemies. With the condition done I brought the snake to my potions lab and started the potion. Getting dragons blood was more expensive than I thought. The same goes for Acromantula venom, I guess even wizards don’t want to go near spiders. Let alone the giant man-eating ones. It gives me chills just thinking about it (f.u.c.k spiders).
When the potion was done, the black mamba was ready to lay its eggs. I left the potion in the cauldron, cast a warming charm and levitated the snake above it. When the egg left the body of the black mamba I levitated it carefully into the potion. With the process underway, it would take about three months for the egg to hatch. I had my elves take the black mamba back so she could lay the rest of her eggs. Before leaving the lab I ordered my elves to keep watch of the cauldron.
A week later I got an owl saying my sword is complete. Hurrying to Gringotts via the Mimsy express I was taken to the back and brought to Agnok’s workshop. When I enter I saw a tired Agnok holding what I could only say is the most beautiful bastard sword I’ve ever seen. It’s a shining silver blade with black leather grip, a green gemstone in the pommel, and black inlay design on the crossguard and what little of the handle that isn’t covered by the grip. It was simple but an overly ornate sword would be too gaudy for my tastes.
“This sword is the best I’ve ever made, take care of it properly and we will have no issues.” He said handing me the sword and a black leather sheath that matched the grip. Taking the sword and admiring it a huge smile appears on my face.
“Thank you so much master Agnok. The sword is exactly as I imagined it.” I said bowing.
“Don’t worry about it kid. I’ve made the size and weight perfect for you already, but if you want to change it just push your magic into the sword and think of what you want. The same goes for the vibration enchantment, It’s not hard to operate.” He explained. I pushed my magic into the sword and made it the size of a small dagger then as big as a great sword. I then made it as light as a feather and slowly made it heavier until I couldn’t carry it anymore. Willing it back to normal I made it vibrate and it vibrates so fast it looked like it was standing still. I stopped the vibration and placed it in the sheath leaning it on my shoulder.
“It’s perfect how much do I owe you.” I said and Agnok handed me a bill. I nearly fainted at how much this piece of metal costs me. Good thing I made those investments or else I would be very poor after this.
