I’m Harry Potter - Chapter 17
(Authors note: Lightning officially won! For all those who wanted another element don’t worry. I could always give him subordinates that have those elements. Like Damon here will obviously have blood. Maybe when I do the werewolves they can have nature or earth. Let’s not forget about the harem, they could have a cool element as well. Also I started editing older chapters, and got bored out of my mind. So yea that’s not happening again lol)
“Well, I’m Harry. Do you have parents or a guardian that looks after you?” I asked, Pushing forward my legilimency bubble to read his surface thoughts.
“No, not anymore.” Damon said, looking despondent. His mother died, no she was killed.
“How did you get into that situation last night?” I said, changing the subject.
“Those wizards found me and chased me for two days. What happened to them? They don’t know I’m here right?” he asked, worriedly looking around. It seems they toyed with him. Every time Damon thought he got away they would appear.
“No, they won’t be bothering you anymore.” I said.
“You killed them didn’t you?” he asked.
“Yes, Yes I did.” I answered, and went back to my breakfast. He looked scared and relieved all at once.
While eating breakfast, I invaded Damon’s mind to see his memories. Dhampirs are natural Occlumens like vampires, but Damon’s far too young to sense me, let alone block my invasion. He’s the second son of the leader of the Kreiger sect. (I swear it’s actually called a sect. I’m not making this into a cultivation novel. Lol) The leader of the sect had a vampire wife and a human mistress. Damon is obviously the son of the mistress. Being the second son and a Dhampir caused many problems in his life. Half the sect looked down on him because he’s a half-blood. The rest either didn’t mind him, or were jealous of his ability to walk in sunlight.
Damon’s mother Sophia was offered many times by Legate to become a vampire, but always turned him down. She never told Damon why she didn’t want to be a vampire, always saying ‘I was born a human and I’ll die a human’. What she didn’t know is that her choice would sour the relationship between her and the sect. Even Legate distanced himself from her, not wanting his relationship to cost him his leadership position. Without the safety given by his father’s presence, Damon’s bullying intensified, and even his elder brother joined his tormentors.
Being the eldest child of Legate, and a full-blooded vampire, Damon’s brother Kieran was groomed from a young age to take his father’s place. Kieran never liked Damon, seeing him as a threat to his future as head of the sect. When Legate still favored Sophia, Kieran would only glare at Damon when there paths crossed. After Sophia’s fall from grace, Kieran noticed his father not visiting Damon or Sophia like he used to, so that’s when Kieran started joining in on Damon’s bullying.
That lasted a while, until one day Damon came home, and his mother was dead on the floor in the kitchen. Someone drank her dry and left her there, not bothering to hide what they did. That was the worst day of Damon’s life, just watching the memory I can feel the agony raging inside him. After the death of his mother, Damon didn’t show himself to the sect until his mother’s funeral. When everyone but Damon left the graveyard, Kieran walked up to Damon whispering in his ear ‘she tasted great’.
Damon saw red and attacked Kieran, but sadly Damon is a Dhampir and his powers haven’t grown yet. Kieran demolished him leaving the cemetery with a vindictive smile on his face. After his beating, Damon went to his father telling him Kieran killed his mother, and asked for justice for her. Legate didn’t believe him, and outright refused to even look into the death of his former lover. Knowing his father wouldn’t get justice for his mother, Damien left the sect swearing to grow stronger to kill Kieran and anyone that got in his way. Sadly his first encounter outside the sect was being hunted by wizard vampire hunters.
“Well, what do you want to do now? Do you have anyone I should call to pick you up?” I said, pretending I don’t already know his life story.
“I can take care of myself” he said, looking determined.
“Ohh really? You couldn’t even fight some weak wizards, and you think you can take care of yourself.” I said, and he visibly deflates. “You could stay with me I guess, and I could teach you how to protect yourself.” I said, playing on his need to get stronger for his revenge.
I want that vampire sect under my control. Imagine having an army of elf assassins and vampire guards. How cool that would be, and all I have to do is nurture Damon, and point him at the sect to take it over. His brother may be strong compared to Damon right now, but with my help, that gap will close quickly. His father might be strong, so I’ll have to gather some information on him, and others that may be in the sect.
“Why would you want to help me?” Damon said.
“Well, I did save your life, and it would be a waste of my effort if you died tomorrow because you’re weak.” I said, and he looked hesitant. “You know what? I’m on vacation right now, so I’ll give you until the end of it to give me your answer. Until then I’ll buy you the room across the hall.” I said, having Mimsy take care of it.
