I’m In Trouble Because My Husband Is So Cute - Chapter 11
“I’m sorry, I’m late…”
“What kind of nonsense are you talking about, little boy?!”
The men stood up and raised their voices fiercely. However, Zachary raised his gaze at an angle and turned towards her instead.
“It won’t take long, though. So…”
Iellie didn’t really understand what he was talking about, but he’s acting a little weird. She tries to get up somehow.
“So… please close your eyes for a moment.”
At that moment, she saw ‘something’ shining deep in his eyes. An eloquent power that it’s unbelievable to believe that humans possessed. She didn’t fully understand what it was, but she reflexively obeyed it and shut her eyes slowly.
As soon as Iellie’s eyes are closed, an unsuitable cold wind stuck in an instant. The wind was so sharp, like a piercing blade.
“Aaack!”
The wind directed towards the man who was in front of Zachary first. Then, she could hear a terrible flurry, and hot liquids spilled onto her.
Thud.
Thud, thud.
Crash. The sound of something falling resounded. Body parts of the man were being chopped off.
The distinct odour of fishy blood filled the area in an instant.
“Wh, what?!”
“That’s… that’s a monster!”
Confusion and fear quickly swept around. The men stumbled in fear and stepped back.
Zachary knew. In the unlikely event that he lost his mind here, the Duchy would be split in half.
‘You can’t lose your temper.’ He whispered desperately to himself. However, as moments passed by, it seemed that his reasoning kept breaking. He took a breath. ‘How… How dare they put a hand on her.’
What if he lost her?
At the thought, anger turned his eyes bright red.
Suddenly,
“Do-don’t come any closer!”
The man holding Iellie cried out with a fierce voice. In his hand, the man lifted a sharp-edged knife and pressed onto Iellie’s neck. She could feel a sting on her throat, then thin drops of blood began to flow.
“Monster! If you come closer, I’m going to kill this girl!”
The voice of the man who bound her was urgent. Terrified, she felt her fingertips freezing, stiff. Her whole body began to tremble hastily. Zachary saw it all.
“No, before that happens…”
He quietly opened his lips. A strangely calm voice uttered, followed with a cool smile like the winter moonlight.
“You will die.”
Quang!
Just then, a winter breeze, which did not match the short spring day, exploded out of nowhere. The hand that was holding Iellie captive was torn off in no time. Of course, the blade that was aiming towards her neck also fell.
Clink!
The sound of the blade rolling through the solid ground knocks hard on the ears.
And all the shredded corpses rolled on the floor. As the cold wind continued to sweep around, even the blood flowing on the floor quickly froze into scarlet-colored ice.
Even with her eyes shut, the chilling air surrounding her still grasped her attention.
Iellie was stiff as a fiddle.
‘…Za, Zachary?’
The power of the silver dragon inherited by the Hessenweitz successor is the power of winter that chews and swallows all things. And obviously, Zachary was the one who inherited the purest blood of all the dukes born to date.
“Hii, hiiik…”
By now, only three people survived. One of the men stepped back, frightened, and scratched the floor with his bottom.
The boy slowly lifted his gaze. His face was so cold, as if there weren’t any emotions left.
“…Sa, save…”
“You want to be saved?” Asking in a soft voice, the glacier-blue eyes stared down at the man with an arrogant light.
Like a pure white demon, Zachary smiled.
The Surrounding area was flooded with ice and wind, frost and snow. It was as though he was the only lord and ruler of the world. The boy asked again in a drowsy tone.
“The problem is, is it over yet?”
“I-I was wrong! I…!”
“How I wish everything could be solved just by saying that I was wrong…”
Still smiling, as Zachary lifted his hand up and lightly bounces his fingertips, the wind blows rapidly.
“But that’s not possible.”
His voice sounded a little sad.
The original sin of the boy. A new sin committed by that original sin. Even though he had done so many wrongs, he had to remain a monster forever…
Frost Demon, Winter Monster, Blue-Blooded Silver Dragon.
“You touched something that should not be touched.”
Like he did in the past. The boy understood his father a little for the first time. Why his father hated him so intensely, why he could not forgive the boy all his life. The father and son’s only sin, towards the woman he loves.
“So, you must die.”
The cold sentence fell.
Zachary, who worked as hard as he could, was worthy of the notoriety of being the ‘frost demon.’ A winter god that seems to have been born solely for destruction, possessing the magic of frost, ice, and cold that rises in white.
Instinctive terror stood on the faces of the men. They screamed and raised themselves.
“Hiiikkk, please save us!”
“Please, please!”
It was Zachary who carried the blood of a dragon in his human body.
Whenever there is a rampage, the surrounding area gets slaughtered, regardless of anything.
‘Yes, I am a monster.’
The moment he admitted that, the boy’s mouth twisted with self-destructive joy. However, his reason is pulled through tightly. Though it seems to be slowly fading. ‘No, not like this… This city might disappear.’
Still, he couldn’t stop. The instinct of the dragon and the power of destruction shook the boy’s whole body.
Kuang!
Kuang, kuang!
Once again, as the wind raged like a storm emerged ferociously, a thin voice was heard.
“Zachary…”
It was fortunate that the cloth that blocked her mouth had loosened. Iellie called Zachary desperately with her eyes closed tightly. Somehow, she was instinctively convinced that he probably wouldn’t want to show himself to her right now.
“…Zachary, can you hear my voice?”
Hearing her voice, he suddenly paused. As the sweet scent poured in, Zachary swallowed his breath, and he gradually came to his senses.
‘Asha scent.’
Hearing that voice, her heart filled with anger quickly subsides. Surely enough, the power of the dragon in his body has also calmed down as well. He blinked sluggishly, trying to control himself.
Iellie opened her mouth again.
“Are you calming down a little now, hmm?”
Even in the long history of the Duke of Hessenweitz, the boy was born with the thickest blood.
That means, he had no one to teach him about the magic of winter. So, it could be said that Zachary was probably inexperienced in dealing with his power because he had to learn how to deal with his power entirely with his own strength.
“…Iell…lie.”
As he blankly called her name, Iellie nodded her head back quickly.
Seeing her reaction, the blue eyes widened. Zachary quietly gazed down at his hands and squeezed his head. ‘What the hell have I done?’
“Heeukk.”
Beast-like cries escaped out from his mouth, and hot tears began to gather. He gasped and words poured out from his mouth.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry… I’m so sorry, Len. Iellie, I-I’m really sorry…”
Being the successor of the Duchy, the silver dragon of winter, Hessenweitz. Zachary inherited that power and is said to be the incarnation of the silver dragon. When she gazed at him and said, ‘You are not a monster,’ he was truly saved by those words. Still…
“I am a person who possesses this kind of power… Am I really a human?”
“Zachary.”
“How can you say I’m not a monster…?”
At those words, Iellies body shuddered. The lowered eyelashes trembled. ‘…Zachary, why would you say that? Have you always been thinking that way?’
Even with her eyes closed like this, she could still feel the sense of despair pouring out from him. The sobbing sound crushed her heart, and she bit her lips firmly.
‘Don’t cry… it’s not just your fault. And it’s okay, even if it’s your fault, I won’t leave you until the end.’
Thinking so, she decided to speak again.
“You’re not a monster.”
“…Le, Len.”
“How could there be a handsome monster like you?”
The power that used to run amok has long since subsided. Even in the midst of despair, the fact came to pass. The power of the silver dragon, who has been tormenting him so far, sinks so easily. It was Iellie, who did that nonsensical thing so casually.
Surprised by the thought, he suppressed himself. Zachary tried to calm down again.
“…Uhk.”
Pushing back the overwhelming feeling that was gushing out, he held back crying. It wasn’t time to cry yet. Even though the three men in fear had long since run away, and the four were still there, laying there around them.
Before long, the boy made up a calm voice and spoke to her.
“Don’t open your eyes yet.”
“…”
A low, quiet voice that shows no sign of rampage. He now had a calm face as usual.
“…Are you really you now?”
“Yes, roughly.”
As he approaches her, Zachary can see her trembling without opening her eyes.
He asked, “Are you afraid of me…?”
“No.”
“You don’t have to lie. I’m okay…”
A small voice that seemed as though it was collapsing. And again, Iellie shook her head stubbornly.
“You’re not scary. It’s just… I’m not used to it.”
The bloody smell.
The disgusting smell that resembled metal…
Eventually, reality hit him.
“Sorry…”
“Zachary.”
“I didn’t want to show you a scene like this.”
Zachary raised her hand and rubbed her blood stained cheek. Then, he gently covered his eyes with her hands. The warm palms cover his wet eyes.
Iellie felt the trembling of her body growing more and more.
“I don’t care if you don’t know this…”
Although she wanted to tell him that it was okay, she couldn’t control her trembling body. As soon as Iellie realized she couldn’t control her breath, she realized something was wrong.
Just earlier, the blade was touching her neck. A man died before her eyes…
Recalling what had happened, her breath choked up. She grabbed her neck with her hand.
‘I-I can’t breathe properly!’
She was struggling to breathe as time went on.
It was a symptom of hyperventilation. Zachary’s eyes gaped open seeing it.
It was not uncommon on the battlefield. Soldiers who went to their first battle sometimes suffer from such symptoms. He was like that as well.
The boy, narrowing his eyebrows, grabbed her shoulder and whispered quietly.
“Len.”
“Ha, hah—Haah…”
The gasping breath rang loudly. It felt as if earlier, she was standing outside the water, but now, suddenly she was trapped inside the water.
‘W-what happened?’
In the midst of confusion, she was choked and dizzy.
“Len, it’s okay. Take a deep breath, then exhale slowly.”
“Ah, n-no, I—can’t…”
Tears formed under the tightly closed eyes. At that moment, Zachary felt like he had to do something right now.
“…Sorry. Excuse me for a moment.”
He whispered and immediately bent down until they faced each other.
The warm lips enveloped her lips in a flash. Iellie hungrily swallowed her breath, which was rushing through her lips.
The rough breathing slowly began to calm down.
“Huh, ha. Ha—”
Her breath slowly found comfort as Zachary continued to share his breath with his lips until she fully calmed down.
Before long, she exhaled a long breath. At that, he asked her carefully.
“Are you better now?”
“…”
With her eyes closed, she nodded her head gently. Zachary, who laughed bitterly, grabbed Iellie’s hand.
“Come on. Don’t open your eyes yet.”
Holding her hands tight, she followed him in his strides. The tiny hand he held was ice-cold, and he swallowed his breath.
“Watch your feet.”
He said so as they went through a torn body. The frozen blood on the solid floor made a rustling sound under their feet.
“Okay, now you can open your eyes. But, don’t look back.”
“…”
Hearing his words, she carefully raised her eyelashes. The pale green eyes exposed under the moonlight were still moist.
…He made her cry. He was about to go berserk in a surge of anger…
“Thank you for saving me, Zachary.”
That was the first thing that came out of Iellie’s mouth.
The light green eyes were fixed only on Zachary’s face. It’s obvious that she doesn’t want to deliberately look behind her.
