I’m in Trouble Because The Emperor Thinks My Time is Limited - Chapter 15.2
“I’m sorry.”
I managed to speak in a feeble voice, but he didn’t answer. I was so embarrassed that I was going to die.
I wish he could have gotten angry and yelled at me, but he didn’t even have a word or two to say about my actions.
I felt that this was scarier. People like Askale were quiet when they were angry, which is more terrifying than those who went on a rampage.
Askale’s gaze stung.
After a long silence, the hem of Askale’s clothes made a noise. He seemed to have finally moved. I thought, of course, that he would turn around and leave as usual.
But unexpectedly, Askale approached me.
He knelt on one knee right in front of me with a stiff face.
He looked pretty upset and seemed annoyed to leave me like this.
“Was it hard?”
I flinched and nodded. My current condition was so bad that it was hard to lie and say I was fine. My legs were shaking and I couldn’t even get up because I ran out of stamina.
My face was burning with shame.
“Okay. I see.”
Askale ended up helping me get up while answering calmly.
I looked up at him in bewilderment, but he ignored my gaze.
I leaned against him, but my legs were weak, so I stumbled, and Askale held me firmly.
I grabbed his hand to stop him, and he looked coldly at my hand and said,
“Stay still.”
“Oh, okay.”
I quickly lost my temper and let go.
He was helping me for some reason, but he looked uncomfortable when I touched him.
I had to be half frozen while leaning awkwardly against him.
Then, once again, Askale’s mouth opened.
“Where were you going?”
I didn’t have an answer. There was no destination because I ran away like a madman.
Askale sighed weakly when I hesitated to answer.
When I saw his sigh, I shrugged and crouched down.
I showed my ugly side to my half-brother, who already hates me. It was upsetting.
“It’s not like you to run away without permission.”
“I’m sorry.”
“There is nothing to apologize for.”
Askale bit his lips as if he was annoyed by my frustrating appearance.
“Let’s go back for now. His Majesty would be worried if he knew.”
“Yes.”
This was how my short escape game ended.
It ended with a lot of shame, so it was vain and filled with lots of regrets.
Somehow nothing has worked out since I signed the contract.
As I raised my eyebrows melancholy, Askale said.
“Even in the family.”
“What?”
“My family, no. My father is also looking for material about the Black Priest.”
I couldn’t help but be surprised by this fact that I never would have imagined.
My father, Count Bachne, was less interested in me than Askale who was in front of me. So I could not understand why he was looking for the Black Priest.
“Why?”
However, Askale frowned as if he didn’t like my reaction.
“Why what?”
“Oh, there must have been a reason. I asked a presumptuous question. I’m sorry.”
As soon as I lowered my tail, Askale still looked at me with a frown.
His eyes seemed to hold a complicated meaning that I couldn’t understand.
“You always say sorry.”
I didn’t bother to answer Askale’s small whisper.
It wasn’t because there was a reason, I just didn’t have anything to say.
For me, Askale was a difficult man who I find hard to grasp his intentions.
“Let’s go now.”
Askale said, holding my shoulders tightly with both hands. I was embarrassed by it because I didn’t expect him to take me directly.
Of course, I thought Askale would pull me up and return to his post.
However, no matter how much I looked at it, Askale seemed to have no intention of going back.
“H-Hey!”
“What’s going on?”
“Are you going to go with me?”
“Yes.”
Arsenal stared at me as if he was telling me to move faster rather than say such nonsense. But I couldn’t follow his words.
I was already embarrassed to death, but if I was taken back by him, I would really die of shame.
I ran away with the commotion earlier, so I was sure I would run into people looking for me on my way back.
It was terrible to imagine them and Askale looking at each other.
It was difficult to move a step because of my weak legs, but it was better to crawl than to go with Askale.
“I-I can go alone.”
“I’ll take you. You don’t have to decline.”
How could a gentleman who wasn’t normally interested in me show kindness at this moment?!
I shook my head in a hurry, but Askale’s hand was still holding my shoulder.
“It’s really okay.”
I was going to decline to him again, but at that moment, my eyes felt like they were spinning.
‘Eh?’
As I listened to Askale’s voice calling me, I thought something was wrong.
