I’m The Boss’s Secretary?! - Chapter 376
Yeseul now understand how simply amazing Lee Young was in acting as he could still maintain his steadily polite tone while facing Mrs. Edna.
“Most injuries heal quickly for us but not if they are taken away. The bad witches pulled out her eyes,” Lee Young sighed as if he was disappointed, “I would like to rip the eyes fo the witch who had done this to her, but it appears I was a little too late.”
“Um, Lee Young,” Yeseul called the man whose hands were tightly circled with hers. Both him Mrs. Edna was surprised by the calling as Yeseul rarely calls for him. “I feel a little ill talking about that…” she whispered, holding to her forehead.
“Ah, of course,” Lee Young looked at her with worry, “Do you think you have to take a seat somewhere else?” He then looked at Mrs. Edna, “You won’t be able to be here without feeling ill, my lady. Do you still want to know what happened to her, Mrs. Edna?”
The elderly woman glared at him, “No. I hope you have a great time here, Miss Elizabeth and I’m sorry for your loss.” As the woman left, Lee Young gathered his gaze again to Yeseul with a smile on his lips.
“You are a good actress yourself, Elizabeth,” Lee Young spoke as he brought her away, “Let’s move into our private seat before anyone coming for us again.”
“I wouldn’t dare saying that in front of you. How do you angered that woman from earlier?” From the conversation, Yeseul could already take that Mrs. Edna didn’t like Lee Young and it started since they first started the conversation.
“It’s not what I did to them. It’s my entire being that they don’t like. Can you feel it? Even though you can’t look I am sure you can tell the gazes thrown at us— or me,” Lee Young stated.
And it as true, Yeseul could feel the hard gazes around her. She could feel some admiration but most was disgust and it had all to do with his being.
“Don’t you feel bad?” Yeseul questioned him when they reached to the nearest corner of the room, behind a pillar. Lee Young was taking a drink from the waitress when he heard her speak.
His head turned at her before looking at his surrounding and after a while he decided to look at her once again.
“Not at all. Even I am disgusted of myself,” he replied stalely. Even though it wasn’t something easy to say, Lee Young had spoke it as if it was a business of someone’s else.
Yeseul didn’t know what to say but she knew she had to say something. “It’s not your fault. Who our parents are, whether our blood is red or blue, we are a person too. You shouldn’t feel disgusted by yourself when you have done nothing to be ashamed for.”
Lee Young who was drinking, placed the edge of the glass to his lips that had turned redder from the drink he had. His eyes staring at Yeseul was fierce for a couple of second.
“That was a very wise words,” Lee Young placed the glass that was still full with around three fourth from the drink, “It’s my first time seeing someone who is not withdrawn after knowing about me.”
“Honestly,” Yeseul started, “I would think that it is better to be with you rather than others in this room.”
Lee Young chuckled. His interest seemed to burn brighter as Yeseul continue to speak. When his lips parted slightly, the other door of the room suddenly opened on its own.
From the door, entered Gun Nam, Chong Gun, and some other vampires who had always been following Gun Nam.
Lee Young looked around to see that the rest of the vampires who often work with Gwe Jeoknim had been shipped out and possibility all others who are just had also been removed for Gun Nam to spread his poison to the entire Associate.
Lee Young could only see that from now on the words and ever single movements spread in the vampires’ society, Gun Nam will have the upper hand to know and hear every littlest event.
The man got toward the top of the stairs, standing where the men behind him stood on his back, Lee Young’s grin couldn’t help but to get wider seeing them together.
“Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the party. It is my great honor to see every pureblood here together in a single room which is a rare event,” the man’s chin was tip high, his words beaming with pride.
“He seems to believe he had got it all,” Yeseul commented from the side.
“Isn’t he? That’s what happen when a person had been poisoned by greed,” Lee Young could still hear the long speech of Gun Nam which he had failed and didn’t want to listen to, sharing his hearing only for Yeseul.
“How many in this room are the people you know in a good term?” Yeseul then questioned curiously as she could still despite Gun Nam standing at the top of the staircase, opening the party with his words, Lee Young seemed to have taken all the attention.
“Hm, let’s see,” Lee Young took his time. “No one.”
Yeseul raised her face with a blank look with how Lee Young had mulled his thought, he had guessed that he might have a handful of them only to find out that he had none.
“You live a very lonesome life,” she couldn’t help but put a remark to end the awkward silence.
“Not really. Isn’t it much better than being stabbed in the back? There are people I can put my trust in and those are worth to befriend for. But those who doesn’t why should I bother them?” He stated as if it was the most logical reason which Yeseul could understand.
“…I am glad to be here in the present as the new leader of the Associate,” Gun Nam continued, “As I don’t want to keep everyone await, I present you the party.”
In one snap of his fingers, the music begin to play. Men and women came inside the room but they were not vampires. Those who came were humans.
Yeseul narrowed her eyes, “What is this?” She could feel the sudden shift of air in the room.
“Feast, my dear,” Lee Young’s words were gentler but his smile had fell. “In parties where purebloods are together, they mostly hire humans who could offer them drink as it is better than the stale blood.”
“Is this allowed?” Yeseul questioned the logical reason between this. “If vampires are given blood directly from humans, they would lose their restrain when they are outside.”
“It’s not of course. Jeoknim didn’t allow the practice in Associates for the very same reason you said earlier but Gun Nam seems to be starting his new world.”
In time, a woman came toward Lee Young and also a man, they both bow when they met them. Yeseul could feel the two people in front of her were humans.
“We are here to offer you a drink, miss and mister,” said the two people at the same time that only cause further frown on Yeseul because she realizes from the voice that the two humans were quite young, possibly in highschool.
“I don’t need it,” Lee Young flatly refused and he caught the sight of surprise on the girl’s face.
“We are hired for this very reason, sire. We are not force to give a drink,” the girl said again.
Lee Young looked down at the two humans. His red eyes caused the two to be startled when they met eyes. The surprise slowly change into fear.
“Okay,” came the answer but it wasn’t from Lee Young and rather Yeseul. “My companion here just came from another party. He is a famous and busy man all around. But because of him I am late to my dinner. One of you can come near me.”
Lee Young raised only one of his eyebrows at the request she showed and to point out, her fabulous acting as a pureblood vampiress with her on point arrogant attitude.
The girl came forward and she saw Yeseul’s hand that was raised for her to take. Slowly the girl helped her by taking her hand and leaned forward to let her neck to be bite.
Yeseul opened her red painted lips, ready to take a bite when she closed her eyes all of a sudden. Taking a step back, the human girl saw the frown on Yeseul’s forehead and fear come to her as she had displeased a pureblood vampire.
“What did you eat before coming here?” Yeseul appeared to be ticked off.
“I-”
“Don’t answer me. Just go away. Not only that your blood smells bad, you also ruin my appetite. You two leave us now,” Yeseul waved off her hand and with her words that sounded as if she was going to be more displeased if the girl spoke back, they both bow and left.
When the two humans left, Yeseul could hear the faint whispers coming from them, seemingly immersed in a discussion.
“What was that?” Lee Young questioned her.
“What was what?” Yeseul questioned naively. Knowing that it doesn’t work, she sighed, “I am saving you. Did you drink the blood earlier from a glass?”
“I only drink water or a sip of wine outside since the day my family was poisoned.”
Yeseul raised her hand and softly placed it to his chest. “You are alright which is great because by now, I expect seventy percent of people in this room who had drank the human’s blood had been poisoned. We should leave this place before it gets chaotic.”
“I would also like to do that but we have to wait for the two children to come back.. They really do keep me waiting every day.”
