I’m The Boss’s Secretary?! - Chapter 377
Seoyeon stood outside the gates of the Associate. Standing before the wall. In time two men passed by her.
“It doesn’t make any sense why the rest of Yo-Won’s team can enter the party and stays there when my team is capable enough to guard the place. That is not their job but ours,” said the first man with anger on his eyes.
“It’s because the party guests are only purebloods. You know how purebloods are; they are willful and only follow their own teaching. They won’t agree to it if someone like us who are half vampire to participate in their party,” answered the second man.
“What willful? They are just creatures who arrogantly think they are a cut above others,” the first man said again as they both passed by the wall Seoyeon was standing at. In a second, without Seoyeon moving, the two men fell on the ground unconscious. She lifted her head, meeting Jung Hwa’s eyes and he smiled to her.
“Are all pureblood arrogant as they said?” Apart from him, Seoyeon had only seen his grandfather and Lee Young as purebloods.
“Most of them are. If you think I am worse, your are far off. There are more people who is worse than me,” Jung Hwa walked toward one of the man and crouched in front of him. Pulling out his hand, he pulled out the keys. “Let’s go,” he then ushered her.
Seoyeon followed Jung Hwa’s lead with her falling behind only by four to five steps away from him. Instead of entering the building through the front door like all other guests who were now in the ballroom, Seoyeon and Jung Hwa had used the back side of the building, making way toward the lower part of the building which was the basement with they key they had took.
Seoyeon had only been once to the prison underneath the building and it was time when she saw Jung Hwa locked. There wasn’t much of a good memory, causing her to feel wary as she entered.
The hallways were dimly lighted as she had remembered. There were less people however, noted Seoyeon in her mind. “It is as silent as we had expected.”
“They are busy with the party,” Jung Hwa answered before he hummed. “But certainly this is unnaturally silent even for the party.”
“Three witches are here,” Seoyeon announced, taking a sudden stop. Noticing that the witches were coming on their way, Seoyeon quickly pulled his arm and pushed him to the nearest wall.
Jung Hwa stared down at the girl whose hand was splayed on the wall beside his shoulders. His black eyes stared at Seoyeon’s expression with a smile. “You can tell how many of them now?”
“It was Haneul who told me about them,” she responded.
“She is still here?” Jung Hwa questioned her.
Seoyeon looked at him, deciphering the ‘she’ he meant was Haneul. She slowly shook her head, “She is gone for now.”
“Great,” he whispered. Before Seoyeon could even question what Jung Hwa meant by great, she felt her wrist pulled by him and he pushed her to the wall. The tip of his nose brushed her cheeks and he came closer toward him. “I think I am needing a little you for myself.”
It had been a long time since they last shared their intimate contact. Seoyeon’s cheeks flushed at his words, “Not now. We don’t have time.”
“But aren’t we waiting for those witches to leave?” Jung Hwa showed her a tender smile and his lips slowly brushed over her cheeks, moving lower but teasingly stopped before he touched her lips.
“What do you say?” He asked.
“Geez,” Seoyeon whispered back and lightly peck his lips. She moved back, looking satisfied. Jung Hwa raised one eyebrow before moving forward to catch her lips into a deeper kiss.
“…we are waiting for nothing!” The angry witchess yelled when they passed by the hallway where Jung Hwa and Seoyeon was.
Instead of moving, the witchess had decided to stop near them and held their discussion.
“But is it true that this vampire man will obediently agree to the Mistress’s need? It seems that the Associates’ job was to hide anything that could prove their existence. It is in their blood to hide from human’s eyes. I can’t trust that he, a vampire, would agree to this.”
“How can he not?” Asked the other witches.
Jung Hwa wrapped his lips on Seoyeon’s upper one, entering his tongue inside her while he overheard the conversation. Seoyeon could feel her head turning fluffier but nevertheless paid attention to the discussion as well.
“What do you mean?” The first one asked again.
The answer came from the third witchess, “The reason why the previous head of the Associate fell is because of the mistress. It seemed that while the man who we kept in our prison was a half vampire, he had a secret power that put him on similar strength as purebloods and even stronger.”
“When Gwe Jeoknim was put down from his position, you weren’t there but we were there,” said the second one in agreement. “The mistress fought him for a good five hours. It started from midnight until sunrise. The winner came certainly to our Mistress. If I have to be honest, however, the vampire man almost had his win if not for the Mistress impressive regeneration magic.”
When the second woman nodded, she felt as if there were people moving on her left side. With a light frown, she turned her head— “You all,” another voice came toward them. “What have you done by standing here and talking instead of doing what you were ordered to? You should go now. Ava will be coming in another half an hour and she would be displease at your attitudes.”
Ava, thought Seoyeon to herself upon hearing the name being brought up. Once again, it was the same woman who had wounded Grandfather Jung greatly, caused the hunters associate to blew up and the one who had assist Taehyung’s brother to kill Seulgi.
Seoyeon’s hand clenched. The witches left when Seoyeon looked at Jung Hwa, wanting to see if he was alright and she could see the anger causing cyclone in his eyes. It was clear that his anger raised over the woman’s name.
“We will make certain she pays for what she sowed,” Seoyeon said while holding to his hand.
“For sure,” Jung Hwa replied. “I will make it so she repent.”
They continue their journey until they found the prison to where Gwe Jeoknim was held at. Unlike other prison or Jung Hwa’s prison where it was only a locked room, the particular place where Gwe Jeoknim was held at reminded Seoyeon of the prison in a historical movie.
The walls were murky as it was made up with dusty yellowish color chunk of bricks. The grilled bars that covered the front side of the prison cell were not made from metal. Instead, it was made up out of wood. One might think the wood would be a flimsy guard for a vampire which was true as vampires are blessed with might physical power.
But truth was, the wood was made up differently than the rest. It had been crafted from a rare wood that affect vampires if they come in contact with it. Seoyeon could tell that the wood was even stronger than the grilled bars.
“Storkich woods,” Jung Hwa named the wood when the stood near the place. He raised his finger and swiped once only to frown. Pulling his finger, Seoyeon saw the blood flowing from the fingertips. A smoke came from his skin as if he had been burned.
Seoyeon worriedly tried to heal his wound but he shook his head. “It will heal on its own soon. This wood came from a tree called Strokich. The tree is very rare to find all around the world but in the past it was the easiest wood human can found to fend themselves against vampires. A stake on our heart is all its needed to kill us. And as you see even a touch is already doable to injure us greatly.”
“Anyone… there?” Gwe Jeoknim begin to speak as he slowly tried to open his eyes.
Seoyeon was surprised. She came closer to see Gwe Jeoknim whose hands and legs were bound by shackles. The elder vampire’s body was filled with wounds. Some bruises, some light, while most were a deep injury.
Seoyeon frowned to see one of the man’s eyes had all been covered by blood and she could tell there was no more saving to heal his eyes.
“We are here, Sire Gwe Jeoknim. It’s Seoyeon and Jung Hwa. We came here in silence. It would be better if you keep yourself as quiet as possible as well.”
They had been lucky enough to come in a time where the witchess weren’t near. Knowing them, Seoyeon could tell the witches wouldn’t guard their prisoner well as they were confident that no one would be able to release the prisoner without dying on their hands.
“Leave!” Gwe Jeoknim faintly raised his voice. The voice was filled with warning and grim as it was his first time to speak after hours without drinking to moisten his throat. “Leave to the party and stop it now! Gun Nam… he plans to kill everyone in the ball!!”
Hearing this both Seoyeon and Jung Hwa knitted their brows together.
In the second floor, half an hour forward, Yeseul wiped the blood from her cheeks and her eyes looked down on the lifeless body in front of her with bleak gaze.
“How much more?” She asked.
“Thirty,” answered Lee Young. “Can you kill all of them for me? I will go and chase for Gun Nam. I will make him pay for this.”
“I can,” answered Yeseul while raising her hand.. “Go now.”
