I’m The Boss’s Secretary?! - Chapter 379
“Kill everyone there?” Seoyeon questioned in surprise. She knew that Gun Nam had the intention to kill the people who stood in front of his way. He was the type of person who can kill without batting and eyelid. But this was still a surprise to Seoyeon as she never expected the man to hurt even his own kin.
“Why?” Seoyeon then questioned.
“There’s no helping,” Jung Hwa answered her and he tipped his chin to Gwe Jeoknim, “He is… gone.”
Seoyeon’s eyes enlarged when she understood what Jung Hwa meant.
“There’s someone over there!” A scream resounded from their left side.
Both Seoyeon and Jung Hwa shared a gaze before they both left the place in a dash. As they ran, they come across the witchess but the witches they met were fortunately all low leveled one.
“There’s something wrong,” Seoyeon said, “Are they really her to guard Mr. Jeoknim? This can’t even called guarding.”
Jung Hwa nodded as he ran, taking one head of his enemy and slam it to the floor before chasing after Seoyeon. “It’s because all of them had more important task than Gwe Jeoknim and seeing his condition earlier, Gun Nam must have expected him to die sooner or later.”
“The important task you mean is killing the purebloods,” she whispered, responded by Jung Hwa’s nod of a head. “But why?” She can’t understand this.
“The purebloods hate the most to have their existence to be exposed,” Jung Hwa answered and Seoyeon finally see the larger picture of what was transpiring.
“He got rid of them to have full control of the Associate and Vampire Society. As without purebloods the vampires would need a new leader which is him.”
“Correct,” Jung Hwa replied. He pulled her by her waist and kicked the witches who had appeared behind her all of a sudden. “We should meet Lee Young now. I am guessing his hands must be full at the moment.” And Seoyeon nodded, they hurried themselves toward the upper floor.
As Jung Hwa had guessed most of the soldiers from the witch’s side and Gun Nam had assembled in the first and second floor instead of the basement.
They group were all standing in front of the hallways, as if protecting something which turned out to be the doors. They weren’t protecting anything. Rather, they were making sure the vampires inside the ballroom were locked for good.
Once they noticed them, a look of shock was on their faces, “Who are you?!”
“An intruder!” yelled the other soldiers.
Seoyeon took a step forward beside Jung Hwa but he raised his hand over her. Pulling his hand he then placed his index finger over his lips, “I’ll fix this matter in a blink. You should instead go inside. Call me when everything happens and escape if you have to.”
“What about you?” Seoyeon questioned. She looked at the number of the witches and the vampires. Eyeballing the number, she could only guess that there must be over forty of them. It was too much of a number even for him.
“Trust me, I will come in less than twenty minutes. Go,” Jung Hwa told her before turning his face toward his enemies. The smile he had on his lips slowly fell, “It’s time for me to get serious.”
Seoyeon watched him dashed in a lightning speed. In less than a minute when the fight start, he had pulled three hearts of the people. Seoyeon trusted Jung Hwa’s capability. With no time to lose, she quickly run toward the door, opening it only to realize that the door was locked not with keys but rather magics.
Touching the surface of the door knob, a friction caused her fingers to recoil. Seoyeon drew her hands to see blood oozing out.
But she didn’t lose her cool. Closing her eyes, she murmured a whisper of spells when she opened her eyes again, she placed her palm to the surface of the door, causing the wood to break into pieces.
Inside the room, Yeseul had to take care of all the mad vampires with nothing to fend but herself which was something she used to do. But with the numbers of vampires she had to face today, she couldn’t help but think this might be the second worse fight she had ever since Haneul’s marriage.
Her magic wasn’t limited but with the numbers she had to fight with, she had to conserve her power and restrain herself from using too much of it. She used her magic every time her hands couldn’t reach a particular place.
Yeseul was in a bind with three vampires attacking her altogether. Not to mention even though they had gone mad from the poison they drank, they were still strong. Strong enough to push Yeseul back down. When her focus faltered for a second, she noticed the woman who had fallen on the ground, the pureblood vampiress tried to run only for the mad vampire to jump in front of her, “No, no!” The vampiress yelled.
Yeseul clicked her tongue as the vampire in front of her scratched her by her arms, she grunted as the fingernails of the vampires clawed out the part of her skin. Whispering a new spell, Yeseul then raised her hand to ward the mad vampire who was coming for the woman and put an invisible barrier.
The mad vampire growled angrily when he realizes he had been locked. The vampiress in front of her was shocked and confused. Yeseul get her out of her daze, yelling, “Get out! Now!”
The vampiress nodded quickly and pushed herself from the ground, running to save her life
Meanwhile, Yeseul went back to cope into fighting five mad purebloods vampires altogether. Even though light witches were strong with their magic, her cool down took a lot of time, causing her to occasionally fight physically which was a miniseries with how her eyes were.
Yeseul didn’t know behind her was a mess of pool, she was forced back by the hoards and the blood caused her feet to slipped. When she fell down, the mad vampires saw this as a chance to attack which they did. Their claws shined when Yeseul looked up and he swung his hand quickly across her face.
Yeseul raised both of her hands to guard her head, expecting sharp pains on her forearms when she noticed time had passed and nothing happened.
Quickly, she opened her eyes to see Seoyeon. Luckily, Seoyeon had gotten the right timing.
“Are you alright?” Seoyeon questioned but noticing the scratches and blood, she could find the answer by her own eyes. Seoyeon raised both of her hand before shoving before her a blue energy seeped put from her palms and in the next moment, the vampires who touched the blue energy froze mid action.
The vampires’s body turned blue as an ice formed all around them, stopping them in their attacks.
“Why are you here?” Yeseul questioned, “You have successfully taken Jeoknim?”
Seoyeon shook her head quickly, “He had died.”
A small frown knit Yeseul’s forehead. “That would mean we have to abort the mission.”
“Where is Lee Young?” Seoyeon had looked around but the pureblood vampire was no where to be seen. “He left you alone here?”
“He didn’t have a choice and I insisted. He is currently chasing for Gun Nam,” Yeseul responded.
Seoyeon could hear clanking and scrams from the outside door, “We should aid Jung Hwa first before chasing after Lee Young.” Yeseul quickly agreed on her suggestion and they ran back toward Jung Hwa, finding him alone fighting another ten witches together.
In the meantime, Lee Young chased after Gun Nam. When the man faced a dead end after searching for a way to escape, Lee Young had appeared right in front of them without passing their sides.
The vampires were all shocked, “Have you known what you are doing?”
Gun Nam was even more shocked to see Lee Young suddenly appearing in front of him. The man turned his body to run away only for him to pull Gun Nam by his collar.
“No you are not running away,” Lee Young was about to bring the man away when an electric current pass through his entire body, causing him to stop all action
From behind a woman stepped out from the end of the corridor. She was holding to a book and had made her way toward Gun Nam languidly. Her face was beautiful and she appeared to be early in her twenties.
“I thought to come. It seems I have truly come in the very right time didn’t I, Nam?” The woman questioned. Her red lips were so red that it appeared as if instead of lipstick she had used blood to color her lips.
“You came late! There were a witch coming to the hall! I thought you promised me there will be no witch should be able to enter the ballroom. How can you explain that?” Gun Ham questioned, demanding.
“Of course no normal witch should be able to come there but there are witches who could..” Her eyes traveled to Lee Young then. “Who is this?”
