I’m The Boss’s Secretary?! - Chapter 381
“Killing the purebloods to take control of the Associates and the pureblood Society to his hands,” sighed Deok Ji Hyeang who had just came to the headquarters. His eyes settled on the bodies of the dead which was being carried away.
Lee Young stood with crossed arms, “You don’t believe it?”
“It isn’t that I do not believe this, sir. It is just a little…”
“Too crazy to believe in,” answered someone from behind them. Deok Ji Hyeang head quickly turned behind to look at who it was and bowed his head immediately.
Lee Young followed to turn but instead of him who was bowing to the elder man, it was the elder man who bowed to him.
“Evening, Master Lee,” the elderly vampire said.
“Evening, Dimitri. You came a long way from England here,” Lee Young greeted the foreign man who had came from abroad. “And what honor do we acquire to have you here with us?”
“It’s nothing for you to worry of, Master Lee. I trust your words. We are here only to look into the pureblood families in Korea. After receiving the news the purebloods from our Kingdom needed to learn this incident on full details,” Dimitri came forward, handing out the envelope he had been holding on his back.
Lee Young took the envelope, flipping the back to the front, noting the large crown emblem which was drawn upside dawn. A smile settled on Lee Young’s lips, “You shouldn’t give this letter to me, you know. I do not have anything to do with the Associates.”
“I understand,” answered Dimitri, “Most purebloods prefer quietness over anything and if possible to create their entire world from scratch under the company of no one if possible. But from the glasses of an old man, I cannot see if there are anyone who could suit the position better than you, master Lee.”
“You can’t be kidding me,” Lee Young sighed, “First it was my grandnephew and now you. I am incapable of taking the seat as the head of the Associate and nor that I wanted to.”
“If you think about it, I would say the Associate falling into your hands are better than the hands of someone else, granduncle,” Jung Hwa’s voice came behind him. Seeing the older vampire who stood beside Lee Young, he bowed his head in respect, “Mr. Dimitri. Did you come on behalf of the England’s Associates?”
Dimitri nodded his head and Seoyeon stared at the man, slightly taken aback to know that there was also the Associates in England but when she thinks about it, perhaps vampires Ana’s witches weren’t only in Korea but other part of the countries.
As vampires live in absolute silence, she could understand why to this day there had been no news about them.
“Miss Seoyeon,” the man called her and reached out his hand at the same time. “It is my pleasure to be able to meet you.”
Always being polite Seoyeon returned the man’s handshake as well as his smile, “Likewise.”
She then heard Lee Young sighing toward Jung Hwa who stood next to her, “Don’t think that I don’t know how you always call me granduncle only when you need something from me.”
“But you like it,” Jung Hwa replied with a smug shrug of his shoulders. “In anyway, you are the most responsible people to lead the Associate. I don’t have anything against the caste of vampires but we have seen Gwe Jeoknim. He was a perfect leader and I remember people saying Gun Nam once respected him before he became the head of the Associate.”
Gun Nam did? Questioned Seoyeon in her mind.
Jung Hwa said, “The reason for Gun Nam to turn against Gwe Jeoknim wasn’t only jealousy and envy but because he believed he could have been more than Gwe Jeoknim who was a half vampire. Having a pureblood will resolve this issue of caste.”
Lee Young’s eyes narrowed at him, “Tell me why I can’t see any answers from your words? Where is the resolution? With me being the head of Associate will not promise that in the future if a half vampire took the seat as the head there wouldn’t be any disapproval from people like Gun Nam.”
“Yes and no,” Jung Hwa raised his finger as if to say his point. “If you show respect to half vampires as a purebloods those vampires will have it on their mind that what matters isn’t their caste but rather their results. Deok Ji Hyeang could help you in this. The process is slow but what’s better than peace.”
Yeseul had changed her clothes that was drenched with blood, “Good idea,” she raised her opinion. “Will you agree to take the position?”
Dimitri looked at the woman before toward Lee Young. “I am sure Mrs. Katheryn would very much love to hear that you agreed to become the head of the Associates. She had been planning a lot in order to assist you to become the head of Korea Associates. She would be extremely happy when she learn of this.”
Lee Young sighed while crossing his arms, “I guess I don’t have a say in this, do I?” He looked around only to see people looking at him hopefully. “Fine,” he relented. “But there won’t be a lot of people who will like to hear this.”
“That’s alright,” Jung Hwa chuckled as he replied, placing his hand on his granduncle’s shoulders, “First the purebloods who will always be against you now are under your debt for saving them. They might be shameless but not blind to this. Second, I don’t think there are anyone who would dare to pull the same trick Gun Nam did to you, right? You will checkmate them before it could ever happen.”
“Fine words. I agree then. Seeing these poor lambs around me, I see no way I can refuse their plea.”
Dimitri chuckled at his words, he then looked around, “With the people here, it will take some times for the Associate to pull themselves together. Should I lend you the people from our land, Master Lee? Mrs. Katheryn would agree to this as well.”
Hearing this, Seoyeon’s eyes widened, thinking of how a good opportunity this is.
“That would be delightful. But instead of protecting the Associate, I need your help at something else,” Lee Young pointed his finger at Dimitri before himself, “Let’s go and talk about this somewhere else. Come with me Ji Hyeang.”
The purebloods left the place. Currently, Seoyeon, Jung Hwa, and Yeseul was the only ones who stood at the corridor. Unlike the corridor on the second floor which was soiled with blood, they had stood at the fourth floor that wasn’t touched by the carnage.
“I will go back to meet JaeGil and Seojun,” Yeseul suggested although in truth, she had just wanted to leave the place to give the young couple a room for themselves as they weren’t able to catch a single break together.
“I think it would be a great idea to also move grandfather Jung here. Currently Associate is the safest place and I can help building a barrier here. For more safety purpose,” Seoyeon who had been silent in a thought then proposed.
“I agree with that idea. I will tell them about it and help you later,” Yeseul said and nodding her head, she then made her way out from the couples.
When Yeseul had left, Seoyeon looked at Jung Hwa. “What are you thinking?” She asked him as he fell into a brief silent.
“Just a few things like how the vampires society is beginning to change and how well do you know Gu Manyeong and Chung Gon?” Came his unexpected question.
Seoyeon looked at him with surprise, “I know Gu Manyeong only for a while, he helped to show me the way around the Associate but only for once. As for Chung Gon… not long ago when we visited the Hunter’s building, I met him. He spoke about him being the reincarnation of Min Hyuk.”
Jung Hwa’s eyes narrowed at it with many reasons one of it was because he knew the relationship shared between Min Hyuk and Haneul was to the point they got married. Seoyeon might not know the man nor have the bond but Haneul does and he didn’t like the thought that Chung Gon liking Seoyeon because of Haneul who was inside her.
“Hm, and what else did you talk to him?” Though his words sounded stale, Seoyeon could pick the slight annoyance underneath his words.
“Nothing. He was lying to me. I used the trick you taught me and I was right. He wasn’t the reincarnation of Min Hyuk. I also learned that although Haneul couldn’t clearly pin point who had been reincarnated as whom, she could tell Chung Gon wasn’t anyone’s reincarnation. But she told me she could feel someone’s reincarnation near them that day. But the presence quickly disappear when I confronted Chung Gon.”
“So someone is trying to mimic Min Hyuk,” Jung Hwa whispered, “How annoying.”
