I’m The Boss’s Secretary?! - Chapter 391
Finding the Mistress wasn’t easy. They have gone almost all around the mansion that Seoyeon began to suspect something was off.
“She isn’t here,” she then announced. “Did she knew we were coming for her?”
“Strange, she should have been—” Jung Hwa didn’t complete his words as all of a sudden an arrow run down toward them. With his quick reflex, he pulled Seoyeon to his embrace and looked behind toward Ava who had came with four other witches who were holding a mechanical bow.
“It hasn’t been a long time, Miss Catalyst,” Ava greeted with a sounding smile that didn’t reach her eyes. “I really hope we don’t meet but what can we do about fate really?”
Seoyeon saw how the wound the woman had was healed possibly with black magic and Seoyeon who knew how black magic wasn’t compatible to healing anyone could only guess there had been so many ritual done and life sacrificed in order to heal the wound that she gave.
“You are scared now of me I see,” Seoyeon answered and the woman responded her with a loud laugh.
“Please! Who wouldn’t get scared by a monster like you, Miss Catalyst? My entire family feared you, do you know that?” Ava asked. “Because of you we live in hidden, away from anything and everything.”
“That’s why you contempt me?” Seoyeon questioned her. “I had never once told your family to live in a hiding. I have been very generous by letting them alive as your family wasn’t to blame. I don’t hurt anyone who don’t hurt me.”
“You didn’t but you had scared them enough for all my ancestors to live in a cave or sometimes on the edge of the world. We always have to run for the fear that one day we will meet you again.”
“You seem to mistaken it but my Seoyeon wouldn’t chase after anyone until the end of the world. She is busy enough as she is with me,” Jung Hwa chided and grinned. “From what I could see is that Haneul came to your family and warned you not to hurt anyone like other dark witches did. If you had lived with the motto of peacefulness I doubt she would ever come to you. Yet you don’t seem to realize that and here you are, working with her number one nemesis.”
“It was because you vampires!” Ava gritted her teeth. “Just whenever I was about to get a hold of hope there must be some sort of ways that either of you—”
“Yeah yeah,” Jung Hwa waved his hand with a tired look on his face. “Let’s just do this, shall we? I am really tired to give a flying fuck about what you guys have to do with your personal life, I have enough of your background stories.”
Seoyeon shake her head. She didn’t know why and how Jung Hwa could still make a joke and how she could feel herself having to stifle her faint chuckle.
“Then,” Seoyeon also shared the smile he had on his lips, “Let’s do this.”
Making a distance between them, Seoyeon looked at his eyes once and nodded before they both matched forward at the same speed. While Jung Hwa took care of Ava and making the woman busy with their fight, Seoyeon had jump behind, taking care of the three black witches together.
The black witches were surprised to see how quick she was. They tried to make distance again for a chance so they could attack only for Seoyeon to use her wall to trap the, from taking another step backward and hurriedly, she held the tip of the bow.
The black witches quickly pulled the trigger to launch the arrow but Seoyeon had activated her power and caused the bow and the woman’s hands to be burn by a great fire.
Screams echoed from her who tried to escape the fire that quickly spread all over her body.
The two black witches was shocked.
“Come on,” Seoyeon waved her hand to the two witches who had began to make their steps back as if they had forgot to fight and wanted to flee. “Don’t run. I don’t want to be too far away from Hwa.”
The black witches instead was frightened by her words. The first to retreat was the one on her left side.
“Fuck this! I cannot do this!” The man threw his bow and fled. Seoyeon sighed and extended his hand but before her, a bluish ball of power had been launched to the man’s head, causing a cavity to widen on his head.
Seoyeon looked at the person who had attacked the man. It wasn’t her and neither Jung Hwa. Instead it was Ava herself who had attacked her own colleagues.
“Running away?” Ava twisted her lips. “That has never been a choice. Whoever had stepped on this world can only win or die. Running away isn’t an option it is a death sentence.”
Seoyeon felt as if she had been slapped awake while looking at the body of the man that was lifeless at the moment. Death was shrouding them so close they could brush with it every seconds. But unlike most people, Seoyeon could still feel the weigh of a person’s life. She had never forgotten it. And that only made it worse for her when she tries to get use to the death around her.
But she closed her eyes, looked away, and bite on because while death still scare her human side, she didn’t want it to touch her loved ones. It was up to her to protect them.
Seoyeon stared back at Ava, “You have gone too deep to revenge that you didn’t see what you are doing had only made worse pain for people around you. For those who doesn’t deserve it.”
“Do you wish to say those people- no, the one whom I had killed a second ago was guiltless?”
Seoyeon remembered what kind of family Ava had. They were peaceful and extremely kind. Although the wife of the family had the power of dark witch, it appeared that the woman had married a white witch where she and her husband shared a kind and loving family. Unlike others, the woman learned that life was precious. It was the reason why Haneul had dropped the idea of killing them.
But Ava seemed to hold to the dark witches’s root.
“They might be not but can you say all whom you have killed until now are all guilty?” Seoyeon closed and open her eyes again.. “It’s time for you to meet your family again, Ava.”
