I’m The Boss’s Secretary?! - Chapter 397
The next ten years when Taehyung left then passed badly for his experience. Everyday, he suffered from the fear of his mother finding the small town he had hid himself at. To get close to people was another terrible ordeal for him as well as he should always be on guard for the person beside him to turn out to be a witch who worked with the Mistress.
Like how even the smoothest road would have small stones that cause one to trip over, at times, Taehyung’s luck wasn’t the greatest and he met the few people who worked for his mother. With no choice, Taehyung had to kill the people who witness him before one of them could ever notify his location to the Mistress before escaping from the town.
On that particular day, Taehyung who was going to the market sensed a dark witch’s presence around him. Quickly, Taehyung pulled the hood of his hat, cursing to himself.
Not too long he had just found a town where he could reside peacefully where most of the town folks were kind people who took care of him well even though he came as an outlander.
Not wanting to attract any attention from the dark witches, he quickly made his way out when a ruckus could be heard from the side. Taehyung wondered what was going on. With his curiosity getting the best out of him, he followed to the source of the ruckus when he saw a woman who was crowded by few more women who was dressed in a pitch black clothing.
“What’s that?” Whispered the bystanders. “They seem to be arguing.”
“I don’t know,” answered the person beside the first speaker, “I can’t understand their language maybe they came from another country. Though they look very local to my eyes.”
Of course no one would understand the language, thought Taehyung to himself as he knew the words that had been exchanged by the women were only comprehensible to his ears as it was the secret language of the witches.
Taehyung threaded carefully to hear what the dark witches had to say, “You don’t want to make a scene here, do you, white witch?”
The woman who was surrounded looked alarmed at this, “I don’t have anything to say to you people. I have firmly refuse to participate in any of your wicked ritual. To bring back someone back to life is the doing of the light witches and the catalyst. Not one of us should attempt to such thing without understanding the drawbacks and consequences of doing the ritual.”
“And you can help us to lessen those consequences, can’t you?” The other witchess asked, “I have to praise my patience to be here. Do you understand how it takes me my whole soul to still stand here and entertain to your words? I came here clearly to request your help. The word ‘request’ wouldn’t take time to change into ‘order’ if you keep refusing White Witch.”
The fellow white witches smiled and stressed her words, “I do think you should do something about your ears. I have clearly and firmly state no.”
“She really is asking for death!” Screamed the other black witchess on the side when the head of the group stopped her. The woman warned her subordinates of the eyes that were around them and their mistress’s clear order which said to avoid attracting needless attention.
“I don’t fear death, black witches,” answered the white witchess with a smile. “Unlike you who still unashamedly trying to survive with your ugly heart with the greeds on your mind, I had long accepted my fate.”
The head of the witchess had her eyes filled with glare when the white witchess mentioned the world ugly which not any witches could accept to hear.
She took a step forward, “I will warn you this. Don’t think that by being brave like a little kitty with your claws out you can ever protect you from us. We only need you for the knowledge you have but you have to also know that there are plenty of white witchess we can search for and your name might have been removed from the list and replaced to the kill list.” The black witch threatened. “I remember about your family well and I won’t hesitate to kill them soon.”
The white witchess was taken aback at the threat. Clearly the death of herself didn’t scare her but the ones of her family did.
“Maybe we should do it now to help you make out a decisive decision.”
Taehyung tried to ignore but with a kind heard that he had he knew he would regret it if he didn’t come to the rescue for the woman now. Without much thinking, he stepped out when someone else had pulled his elbow.
The head of the black witchess noticed a movement and quickly turned her head to the direction of the bystanders. With narrow eyes, she tried to make out who she sensed when footsteps rang behind them.
The footsteps held no distinct sound difference than others but the black witchess who often heard the footsteps felt chill on their back and turned to immediately offer their politeness.
“I thought it had been clear that I told you no ruckus,” said Taein who appeared near them. He saw one of the witchess trying to counter his words when he tipped his chin then, “Don’t you see with your eyes the amount of people in front of us now?”
“B-But master, the woman,” the head of the witchess stuttered.
“I’ll take care of her. For now you all can leave,” Taein ruled his order but the witchess didn’t immediately act and instead looked at him nervously. “I said go,” Taein demanded with pulled brows which finally shooed all the the black witches away.
When all of them had left, Taein humphed. He looked at the woman who fearfully looked back at him. “Follow me if you want your family and you to be safe. And…” his eyes looked at the white witch in a deep warning as if he wasn’t hesitant to kill her off, “Behave.”
Taehyung who had been sitting inside his house waited for the door to knock. When it did, he quickly ran toward the door, turning open the knob to see Taein and the white witchess in front of the door.
“Taein,” Taehyung looked at his brother with regret and guilt for his failed task to bring him out of the wretched family.
Taein didn’t response with the same brightness. His words almost curt said, “Get inside the house.. Else someone will see us together.”
