I’m The Boss’s Secretary?! - Chapter 400
Taein who was faced with the question replied silently, “It was my life or their life. And I chose mine.”
As tough as Taein appeared to be he was still a person who was scared of death. When his mother threatened his life and the life of others, the fear of dying scared him more than the guilt. But it didn’t mean that the guilt didn’t haunt him but he decided to feel numb of all the guilts to allow himself moving another day.
“But brother…” Taein’s voice shake, “I am alive. Alive and yet I feel that I’m dying?”
Taehyung scrunched his eyebrows and released his hold on his brother’s collar to hug him. Taein hold himself back and from the tears that was pushing itself out from his eyes but when his hand that had yearningly wanting to hug his brother again after years, his eyes widened and he pushed Taehyung away.
Taehyung’s body inclined behind, rolling to the ground and as he wasn’t prepared added by Taein’s powerful push, he had fell on his head that caused his sight to blurred when he tried to focus his gaze on Taein again.
With a frown, his blurred eyes gradually took for a clearer picture when he saw the mistress had appeared with a knife on her hand that had dug deep to Taein’s heart.
“You! You betrayed me too!” The woman howled, her voice booming all over the mansion in a shrill scream.
Seoyeon who was inside the room after seeing through Ava’s punishment felt chill running on her back. She break her eyes to see Jung Hwa.
“Finally the crazy woman is here,” Jung Hwa then took Seoyeon’s hand. His fingers filled the gasp of her fingers like how he filled her heart. The grin that he has honestly was irritating in the past but now it only bring her relief. “One warning.”
Seoyeon smiled as she turned her eyes to the location where the mistress were, “Don’t get hurt,” she said and he nodded his head.
“All for your wish, my Queen.”
When Seoyeona and Jung Hwa arrived at the lowest floor, she frowned when seeing Taein on the floor with the pool of blood while Taehyung had himself to fend his life.
A look of anger covered Taehyung’s face as he used all his power to pushed the mistress back. The anger resulted in his fighting stance to be quicker and deadlier but at the same time careless.
“Why him?!” Taehyung demanded for answer. “Haven’t you killed enough?! All the bloods that were on your hands, can’t you see it? Was it really not enough to curb your lust for blood that you have to kill… that you have to kill my younger brother?”
The Mistress’s eyes were no longer calm as she also had the same anger across her eyes, “He won’t have died if he hadn’t betrayed me as you did! All of you,” she screamed, releasing a burst of energy that hurled Taehyung to the wall before appearing right in front of him and wham his head to the wall. “Aren’t you two my sons? You are my sons! Yet like no others you have betrayed me.”
“We never betrayed you,” answered Taehyung as he struggled to breath from the injury he suffered on his ribs. “Haven’t you ever think who had the position to betray the other? It was you. You are the one who had betrayed us. By being as twisted as you are, you have controlled our life, trapped us like a mouse, and rendered us into a useless being who can’t live without your demands. What you want wasn’t sons, mother. What you want was a puppet. A child who you can craft to be similar like you.”
Receiving the words from Taehyung which was nothing but the truth only further raise the woman’s anger.
Her hold on his neck became tighter, causing the pale skin underneath her hands to turn blue and purple.
Nevertheless, the aggressiveness of Taehyung’s eyes didn’t disappear, “Just for who?!” He asked coughing for blood, “For who are you doing this? No one!”
“Yes,” Seoyeon answered behind The Mistress, “Your son do know you better than yourself, Queen. You only love yourself.”
The mistress’s eyes widened but when she darted her eyes behind her and swung her hand at the same time, Seoyeon had disappeared. Taehyung fell on the ground and formed a burst of energy while the Mistress’s guard was down and managed to push back the woman.
Deep rage now shook the Mistress on the floor she stood at. Her eyes that were black slowly turned into a deep purple color. She snapped her eyes showing her bloodshot eyes where red veins crawled from the rim.
“I do only love myself! And what is wrong with that? Everyone and anyone in this world would prioritize themselves over others. I am doing what is normal,” answered the woman and Seoyeon was baffled.
“Others had no choice but to prioritize themselves but they don’t hurt others willingly. You don’t understand a human’s emotions, Queen. Your son that you killed, I know what you are thinking. You don’t feel guilty because you believe that you can have another son again in the future don’t you?” Seoyeon’s hands spread on her side, and her eyes blazed in a bright blue color while staring at the Mistress, “But today is your end. There will be no more future for people like you.”
Jung Hwa smiled at Seoyeon’s words as he caught how the Mistress’s eyes bulged on the threats she said.
Behind him, a person had sneaked out and Jung Hwa continue to watch Seoyeon when he sighed, “You should have done it better by hiding.”
Before the person behind him can attack, Jung Hwa had twisted his finger, causing the blood he control on the air to form a loop around the person’s neck but the latter was quick to kneel down and escape the loop in speed.
When Jung Hwa turned his face, he finally caught the last one traitor, “Gu Manyeong or should I call you better as Haneul’s one and only lover, Min Hyuk?”
Gu Manyeong who stared at Jung Hwa hold his stance before breaking a smile, “It’s too obvious isn’t it? I know.”
