I’m Waiting for You in Ashes - Chapter 31
The door slammed and the world went dark.
Su Wan’s heart fell into the abyss.
“Young master …”
Su Wan murmured, but she did not say anything. The look of disgust from the man was still lingering in front of her.
She knew she had lost.
There was nothing left. He could no longer trample on his own dignity.
He dug his fingers deep into the ground, and his fingernails broke and blood flowed out of them.
His heartbeat was heavy.
His breath quickened, and sweat slid down his temples, forming droplets that fell to the concrete floor.
After that, Su Wan knew nothing.
When Huo Qing carried Su Wan out of the storage room, the woman had already fallen into a semi-unconscious state.
His half-closed eyes were messy as his consciousness drifted away.
Vaguely, Su Wan felt like she was placed on a bed, the door was gently closed.
Then there was a whispered conversation.
“She’s in a bad mental state and needs a doctor.”
“Qing, are you really going to let her off just like this? After all, she had already begun to suspect the death of her father … ”
“Shut up!”
For the first time, Huo Qing spoke harshly to Li Mengqing.
Su Wan listened on and off. Were they talking about her?
Without time to think, he fell into a deep sleep.
When he woke up, the sun was already high in the sky and the clock on the wall was ticking.
Su Wan sat up from the bed and realized that her arm was cold and the drops of the medicine were seeping into her veins.
The happenings from before swiftly returned to his mind.
She stole Huo Qing’s wharf contract, but at the last moment, she gave up. Then she was locked in the grocery room.
Then, she heard the conversation between Huo Qing and Li Mengqing!
Su Wan’s heart skipped a beat and her face turned pale in an instant.
Li Mengqing’s words, as well as her brother’s words, kept spinning in her mind.
She hadn’t wanted to believe it, but what she had heard and seen all along signified that her father’s death really had something to do with the Huo Family.
Su Wan’s heart skipped a beat. She lifted her hand to remove the needle and a string of blood dripped out.
That bright color only made the ominous feeling in her heart even more intense. She bit her lips and rushed to the gang as fast as she could.
Legacy Faction. This was the name Old Man Huo had given to his gang after he had made his name known to everyone in the city.
Su Wan used to like this name very much. She believed it suited the old man’s image of loyalty.
But today, she suddenly wasn’t sure.
If his father died because of the Huo Family … Then, what was the reason for Old Man Huo to adopt her?
Su Wan was slightly out of breath as she felt that she was being helped. As soon as she stepped into the building, she heard A-Biao shouting loudly.
“Go!” Tidy up the guy! What are you doing eating … “Yo, my elder sister is here?”
Upon seeing Su Wan come in, A-Biao quickly put on a smiling face and greeted her.
Su Wan didn’t have time to think. She just nodded her head casually, spread out her left hand and went straight to the point.
“Give me the key to the file.”
“Key?”
A Biao’s expression turned awkward. He scratched his head and stuttered.
“Sorry elder sister, a few days ago …” “The young master said that he had some matters to attend to, so he took the key away …”
He took it away?
Su Wan did not believe it. She looked around and immediately saw a bulge on the waist of the key.
“Give it to me.”
She didn’t want to say anything more. She extended her palm in his direction, and her tone became even colder.
A-Biao knew this master’s personality, and adding on the fact that he had the status of a madam, it would be even more difficult to offend him.
But, but the young master had just personally instructed me yesterday …
“I’ll say it again. Don’t let me do it. ”
Su Wan was getting impatient.
She had to go to the archives and check things out.
All the major and minor incidents within the sect were recorded in the records. If it was indeed the Huo Family who killed his father, then there should have been traces left behind in the records.
Ah Biao’s face was red and white. He just refused to give the key to her.
Su Wan’s face turned cold. She stepped forward and was about to make her move when she heard a loud voice approaching her.
“Su Wan, who gave you the right to make a ruckus in my place?!”
