Immortal of the Ages - Chapter 500: Ruined Plane!
Inevitably, conflict and collision were unavoidable!
BOOM! Even minor friction among these True Immortals centered around the Immortal Asylum left the surrounding space utterly desolate. Both land and sky turned into twisted voids of darkness.
With terrifying speed, the shattered space expanded like a gaping maw of an abyss suddenly grown vast, swallowing an entire region the size of a Hell. Mountains, rivers, cities, human lives, and all creatures were instantly obliterated!
Beyond the reach of destruction, death was but a momentary flicker.
An immense void, as large as the Eternal Sword Prison, instantaneously appeared around the Immortal Asylum. Seventeen levels, buried deep beneath the Nine Hells, were exposed, resembling a dark octagonal pillar piercing the heavens!
At that moment of destruction, Yun Xiao descended from above, arriving over the nearby city. The silent force of annihilation approached from behind!
Yun Xiao turned in horror! Before him was a massive maw of dark oblivion, which in one gulp, devoured the entire city, home to a million souls. Merchants, children, and elders, still clueless, were annihilated by these forces from the Celestial Court.
“Run!!” Blue Star cried out in warning.
Yun Xiao’s heart ached at that moment, everything before his eyes confirmed the harsh realities of the Immortal path as told by the Nian. It was so brutally real. Even though he had heard of it beforehand, when the scene unfolded before him, his mortal mind was overwhelmed by a blank void.
He flew on his Sovereign Sword like a madman, narrowly escaping the engulfing storm of destruction. When he finally got far enough to look back, all that remained was a magnificent space of death.
Not a drop of blood was left!
Such was the devastation wrought unwittingly by the 1,000 True Immortals in their contest—a destruction that doomed countless unnamed souls, far more than one could imagine.
Other than Yun Xiao, none could have escaped such obliteration.
“See it now?” In the distance, the Nian, sharing its essence with Moon Fairy, opened its eyes on his face and spoke in a chilly tone, “Don’t get angry or sad just yet, for this is merely the act of the greedy puffing breath upon the crown. This entire mortal realm, a mere box hiding the crown, is as insignificant as the box and the ants themselves. Who cares, really? Only a fool would care! If you care, you’re missing the bigger picture, and you’ve already lost.”
The Nian mocked him. It knew, better than anyone, the fury that coursed through Yun Xiao at that moment. But what of it? All he could do was bury the seeds of hatred deep within his heart.
The Nian held no respect for such hatred. In its world, the path of the Immortal was merely a cycle of predator and prey. Pity and anger were but emotions for the weak and worthless. Calmness and cruelty, these were the true paths to the heavens!
“Yun Xiao, do you think you’re strong?” the Nian taunted. “You can’t change anything, heh.”
It laughed with unrestrained mockery, finding comfort only in this disdain.
Meanwhile, the young man in white stood on the brink of the devastated area, his cold eyes fixated on the dark pillar at the center of destruction.
The pillar vibrated with light, echoing the unending battle within, sounds and shockwaves that shook the heavens and the earth.
The people of the Nine Hells looked towards it, their expressions a mix of confusion and bewilderment, much like ants watching lions fight; not so much afraid as they were puzzled and lost.
Yun Xiao remained silent for a long while.
“As long as no victor emerges, this struggle will never end. The greedy will only multiply, until everything you care about is destroyed,” the Nian said, delighting in his misfortune.
“It’s going to end,” Yun Xiao suddenly declared.
“Ha, naive. It won’t end. These people aren’t worthy…” The Nian’s laughter boomed but then abruptly cut off.
BOOM! The dark pillar vibrated violently, as from the lowest of 17 layers, a dark halo burst forth, crashing upwards to the first.
Following that, heart-wrenching screams echoed.
BUZZ! One by one, the True Immortals perished amid those screams.
The dark halo even struck the thousand sword vessels hovering above!
As it swept through, each sword vessel turned to dust and vanished into thin air.
Even the Celestial Sourcecores within them did not explode; they simply evaporated…
BOOM! The dark halo shook and then dissipated!
Afterward, the dark pillar fell silent, utterly still.
All was quiet.
It seemed everything had ended.
“It can’t be!!” the Nian exclaimed, its dull yellow eyes wide in disbelief.
The True Immortals, they were all dead! All perished within the Immortal Asylum.
“You know who did this, right?” the Moon Fairy said coldly.
“It was them! They were all bound; how could they have lashed out?” the Nian said blankly.
“Time has passed, the master of the Immortal Asylum is gone, and even you, the gatekeeper, managed to escape. What about them? They must have just lacked something minor, and provoking them was purely suicidal,” Moon Fairy said fiercely.
The True Immortals were all dead!
This was their retribution!
BOOM! As he spoke, the space in front of the dark pillar vibrated, suddenly revealing a vortex.
BUZZ! The pillar shook and plunged into the vortex, vanishing without a trace.
The Immortal Asylum was gone!
“Where did it go?” the Nian asked again, stunned.
“To the Great Dao Celestial Realm,” Moon Fairy said, looking up to the heavens.
The halls of the Celestial Court surely had to be in upheaval at this moment.
The Immortal Asylum had ascended into the heavens!
“How do you know?” the Nian exclaimed, more surprised.
Moon Fairy pursed his lips and sneered, “Guess? You’re not the only one in the Immortal Asylum who wanted my help to escape.”
“Damn, why should it be you? What can you do?” The Nian’s eyes twisted in challenge.
“With just this frail body, I consumed you. So, you tell me, what can I do?” Moon Fairy retorted coldly.
“So, you’re heading to the Great Dao Celestial Realm now?” the Nian inquired.
“I’m just scouting ahead.” After saying this, Moon Fairy turned back to look at the void of destruction in the Nine Hells, his eyes igniting with a towering inferno of vengeance.
“Though these so-called True Immortals are all dead, this matter isn’t settled. Not by a long shot!”
He considered the Nine Hells his home. And the True Immortals of the Celestial Court had scoured it…
“This space here is already collapsing. As time passes, the expanse of this void of destruction will continue to grow, crumbling more fiercely until it leads to the collapse of this entire Pale Blue Dot Mortal Realm, turning it into a ruined plane. The creatures here are doomed,” the Nian said heartlessly.
“I know.” Moon Fairy closed his eyes.
Fortunately, there was still time. He looked up at the sky, took a deep breath, and said, “If this place is indeed doomed, then let those True Immortals of the Celestial Court vacate their abodes for us to dwell.”
“Ha!” The Nian laughed.

On the other side, Yun Xiao took a deep breath, his gaze solemn, as he rose on his Sovereign Sword.
He hadn’t yet reached the Primordial Ruins when Lian Xi, aboard the Skyruler Sword Vessel, awaited him silently with tears.
She too had seen everything that had happened in the Nine Hells.
“The Immortal Asylum has ascended to the Great Dao Celestial Realm. I must take it down,” Yun Xiao declared.
“So…”
“Let’s go then, and see how exalted this Celestial Court really is.” Yun Xiao patted her head and said, “And see if this Divine Dawn is as beautiful as you.”
“You… What are you planning to do?” Lian Xi bit her lip, clearly displeased. She suddenly latched onto his arm and pouted at him. “I don’t want you looking at any other woman but me! Let’s do it right now!”
“Now? Here? That wouldn’t be appropriate, would it?” Yun Xiao coughed awkwardly.
