Immortal of the Ages - Chapter 702: Perfect World!
Yun Xiao, accompanied by the forces that pledged allegiance to him and Divine Dawn, returned to the Thunder Department.
As for the battlefield, it was left for others to clean.
The upper echelons of Lu Fan’s power were nearly wiped out.
This fierce battle was even more rewarding than the last at the Thunder Department, including notable figures like the Penglai Sage and the Great Horned King—each a substantial prize.
These victories were significant, not just for Yun Xiao, but also for the War Princess and Pale Revenant.
As they made their way back to the Thunder Department, news of the events at Sky Soaring City had already spread across the Great Dao Celestial Realm.
The truth was out, tainting both the Celestial Court and Lu Fan together.
Yun Xiao and Divine Dawn became the new hope of the Great Dao Celestial Realm!
In an instant, a fire to overthrow the old order blazed through the entire Celestial Court.
The Thunder Department became the beacon of the Celestial Court!
The movement to fight for the common folk drew countless fervent cultivators, from all origins, to the Thunder Department.
The crowd surged like a fiery torrent.
Yun Xiao kept his eye on every reaction and movement within the Great Dao Celestial Realm.
When he heard that the Celestial Court’s imperial family had incited public fury, and that Immortals were gathering at the Thunder Department to join him in overturning the Celestial Court, his heart swelled with satisfaction.
“This world, ultimately, leans towards the good. Even if the helmsman is a scoundrel, he can’t drag everyone down to hell with him.”
Such thoughts affirmed the value of Yun Xiao’s endeavors.
His ideals and sincere beliefs were affirmed!
“To the Thunder Department!”
“Follow the Seventh Princess, follow Lu Yao!”
To this day, people still thought of him as the young Arbiter from Sky Soaring City who loved to draw.
But whether it was Yun Xiao or Lu Yao, names hardly mattered.
People were following the man himself!
“Sweep the Celestial Court of its malice, establish the divine rules of the celestial realm!”
Under the banner of Yun Xiao and Divine Dawn, the Arbiters of the Thunder Department, celestial soldiers of the Great Dao Celestial Army, and even the ordinary Immortals continued rallying together.
“At this rate, the Heavenly Palace will be overshadowed,” Yue Yin said, exhilarated by the spirited and blood-pumping scene at the Thunder Department.
“The virtuous gain followers, the wicked lose them,” Gu Suwan murmured deeply.
“He’s right.” Yue Yin sighed. “I am truly grateful to him for giving me a chance to repent. I don’t know what else I can do, but since this life was saved, it’s worth giving it up for him again.”
Gu Suwan spoke with a lightness that defied the gravity of their situation. “I believe we don’t need to burden ourselves too heavily. He lacks trustworthy people to help him organize and manage his ever-growing support. That’s a task for us. We’ll do our best, and once the dust settles, we’ll talk about life and death.”
“Indeed…”
With these words, Yue Yin seemed to find her direction.
“I’ll go and settle the Great Dao Celestial Army, Free Immortals, and the demons and devils of the Celestial Court, while you stabilize the Thunder Department’s Arbiter forces,” she said.
“Too many people can lead to chaos, and there are those who will take advantage of the confusion,” Gu Suwan noted.
“Let’s get to it.”
Upon their return to the Thunder Department, the two women were swept up in a flurry of activity.
As expected, Yun Xiao quickly became an absentee leader, vanishing in the blink of an eye.
He was at the Hall of Soaring Thunder, meeting with Pale Revenant.
“Spit it out.” Yun Xiao pointed to her slightly engorged stomach.
“Mmm.” Pale Revenant, her face flushing as she lowered her head, then regurgitated the spoils of the battlefield that suited Yun Xiao—Sword Souls, Life Sigils, and more, including blood.
Expressionless, Yun Xiao collected the Sword Bones, Life Sigils, Buddha’s Treasures, and Seeds of Creation.
The Penglai Sage had 66 Sword and Rune Prisons.
After reaping the spoils of war, Yun Xiao had achieved 81 Sword Prisons and 80 Rune Prisons. Advancing further was challenging. Among the Sword Souls and Life Sigils he’d absorbed, the Penglai Sage’s was the most powerful. The rest fell far below.
Even so, the Heaven Burial Sword Soul and Prison Warden Sigil were now far stronger.
Yun Xiao’s Buddha’s Treasure Spirit had also grown significantly.
“I don’t see where I can find more sources of high quality desolation. So, there’s no need to send Moon Fairy out for now.”
Yun Xiao refined the blood of the slain with the Blood Base within him. Then, he looked up at the sky and remarked, “The fourth tribulation of the Five Thunders Spirit Tribulation is starting.”
Above, crimson tribulation clouds gathered and transformed into cascades of Wood Spirit Thunder, crashing down furiously.
CRACKLE! Yun Xiao, with his fused physique, endured the Wood Spirit Thunder. His Blood Base’s celestial power transformed under its baptism, and he remained unscathed.
Soon after, the fifth and most challenging tribulation, the Gold Origin Thunder, descended.
This trial was more demanding; had the War Princess faced it herself, it might have required considerable effort.
However, Yun Xiao had easily shouldered the burden for her.
“The Mortal Dust Devil Blood has advanced the fastest; it’s in the Establishment Anima Tribulation Realm now.”
Currently, his Divine Desolation Physique was in the Late Anima Tribulation Realm, while his true self was still a Golden Immortal.
“Why hasn’t my true self triggered the first of the Five Thunders Spirit Tribulation yet? It wouldn’t be stirring up the heavenly order to eliminate me again, would it?”
Yun Xiao felt it was quite possible as he continued cultivating with the Primordial Void Technique. He had a sense of foreboding.
“Anyway, compared to before the showdown at Sky Soaring City, I’ve grown stronger.”
Yun Xiao stretched his muscles, then boarded the Azure Rain Sword Vessel and said to Pale Revenant, “Come with me.”
“Just the two of us?” Pale Revenant asked nervously.
“Aren’t there three of us, counting the one lying down?” Yun Xiao pointed at the War Princess’ mummified corpse in the crystal coffin.
“I feel bad for her. Poor big sis,” Pale Revenant said sympathetically.
“Poor nothing; it’s just a nap. When she wakes up, she’ll break through several stages.” Yun Xiao chuckled.
It wasn’t her first time being detached from the Blood Base; she was used to it by now and no longer felt like she was drowning.
VROOM! Without further ado, Yun Xiao fired up the Azure Rain Sword Vessel and sped toward the Heavenly Palace.
“Where are we going?” Pale Revenant asked, directionally challenged.
“Supper was good; now I’m taking you out for a late-night snack,” Yun Xiao said lightly, facing the wind.

Back in the divine land of the Celestial Court, the fierce battle was still raging on, already reaching a fever pitch.
Whether demon, devil, or Immortal, all had blood in their eyes.
Within the entire Sacred Emperor Barrier, corpses and blood were everywhere, none intact—heads, arms, beast claws, and demon brains floated around.
Of course, the true carnage produced more gore than met the eye.
More than ninety percent of the remains, even as they floated, had already developed the resentment of death, consumed by the gluttonous Great Mother, becoming part of her.
As far as the eye could see, the Constellation Army, 18 Department Legions, and Naraka’s forces had plunged into a maelstrom of death.
Lives charged forward only to be devoured by death, sacrificed for the greed and self-interest of those in power.
“We haven’t broken through yet!”
The colossal shadow, wrought from corpse blood, bore the entirety of the deathly force of the Sacred Emperor Barrier
By her design, Naraka’s forces should have broken free by now!
The longer they lingered in the Sacred Emperor Barrier, the worse it fared for her forces.
“Devil Eye!”
On the Great Mother’s flesh mass, several mangled eyes squeezed forth, glaring at the crimson giant eye behind her, she growled, “You’re not pulling your weight!”
The crimson giant eye met the gaze of the numerous eyes on the flesh mass, then calmly said, “Watch.”
With that, the boundless bloody eye swept across the battlefield!
Humming vibrations emanated from the crimson eyeball, and the battlefield echoed with wails. Then, in an instant, waves of blood-red ripples pulsed from the giant blood-eye, crashing over the battlefield like tidal waves.
Wave after wave of these blood-red ripples, so vast and unstoppable, engulfed everything—demons, devils, and Immortals alike—swept away in the red light in the blink of an eye!
Among them, it was clear to see the eyes of the Celestial Court’s Immortals quickly clouding with blood. This blood haze drove them mad, their faces contorted, losing all reason, turning into zombie-like creatures.
They shrieked horrifically, transforming from defenders against demons and devils into indiscriminate attackers, striking foes and allies alike.
Their primary objective shifted from defense to slaughter, pure and chaotic.
This led to the collapse of the Constellation Army’s defense line in a mere moment; those Immortals, turned into fierce devils, ran amok, completely abandoning the disciplined formations that were their greatest strength.
“Quickly!” The Devil Eye created chaos across the battlefield, then urged the Great Mother.
Even the Great Mother was surprised by the power of the Devil Eye.
“So effective, why didn’t you use it earlier?” she said coldly.
“It needs to feed on the blood and resentment of the deceased!” the Devil’s Eye replied, not without irritation.
With a grunt of acceptance, the Great Mother embraced the explanation and seized the opportunity to launch an offensive. Leading the vast army of demons and devils, she tore through the Constellation Army’s defenses, surging towards the Heavenly Palace with unstoppable force.
BOOM! Once her mountainous mass of flesh and blood gathered momentum, nothing could stand in her way. Any member of the Constellation Army caught within her path was devoured alive, their bodies absorbed into her own, their lives extinguished instantly.
Even if they resisted, at best, they could tear only a small piece of flesh from the Great Mother, which exploded into a mist of blood but did little to stop her.
On the battlefield, the corpse demon was an undying shield, her power seemingly limitless.
This was precisely why the White Emperor had so dreaded the Great Mother.
Today, with the Devil Eye’s aid, she dominated the battlefield, completely overpowering the Celestial Court’s elite Constellation Army.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! A veritable mountain of flesh and blood, followed by a dense army of demons and devils, blazed a bloody trail through the ranks of the Constellation Army.
With a thunderous roar, the land ahead suddenly cleared, revealing a serene, elegant realm shrouded in celestial mist and breathtaking beauty. The fabled land of paradise appeared before the horde of blood-soaked demons and devils!
“Wow!”
Many demons and devils, having breached the Sacred Emperor Barrier, beheld the legendary Heavenly Palace for the first time and couldn’t help but exclaim in awe.
Compared to the barren, disaster-stricken, desolate realm they came from, this splendid Heavenly Palace was a dreamy paradise, even more perfect than the most fantastical dreams they had conjured!
“A perfect world!”
The Great Mother, a conglomeration of corpses, in some sense retained the will of the beings she devoured, and her entity had consumed mostly demons!
Her body sprouted countless eyes, each one transfixed on the celestial palaces, treating the place as if it were a succulent, multicolored peach, her numerous mouths salivating with eager anticipation.
“Eat! Eat! Eat!”
“This will all belong to us!”
“This is our new home!”
