Immortal of the Ages - Chapter 705: White Emperor's Divine Might!
The Crown Prince, his face once pale and dim with foreboding shadows, suddenly lit up. In an instant, he shone with radiant glory as a fire ignited within his heart. With a roar that shook the heavens, he commanded, “All Heavenly Officers, follow me into battle, protect the White Emperor!”
With a thunderous boom, the conflicted hearts of the celestial officials were straightened by the White Emperor’s. The warriors like the Northstar Sword Devil could no longer contain themselves; they roared in unison, rushing out of the Taiwei Imperial Palace, their fervor matching the Crown Prince’s brilliance.
Thousands of elite celestial officials stormed out. They were greeted by the sight of a mountainous river of flesh and blood teeming with countless demons and devils. These invaders were so numerous they seemed to blot out the heaven and earth, suffocating the Heavenly Palace with their oppressive presence.
But the shock lasted only a moment.
For above this ghastly mountain of flesh and blood shone a dazzling light, the brightest focal point on the battlefield, like a Celestial Sourcecore. It pierced the bloody mist, illuminating the Heavenly Palace anew.
“White Emperor!” the cries echoed, a testament to the imperial family’s supreme reverence for Emperor Taiwei of the White.
“Father…!” The Crown Prince’s eyes widened as he saw that in the heavens, within the radiant light, the true visage of his father emerged.
“Hmm?” It wasn’t just the Crown Prince; all present saw that the White Emperor was unlike before.
Firstly, his aura was different!
Where the White Emperor was once a synonym for sanctity, nobility, and splendor, an embodiment of light, now he seemed even more awe-inspiring yet tinged with a brutal, angry, and tyrannical bloody aura.
Upon closer inspection, they were shocked to see the old man in the sky; his white hair had turned to crimson, his black pupils to bloody orbs, his entire being enveloped in a terrifying aura, with sanguine patterns writhing like serpents around his body.
Most striking was the staff he held; it was a black rod that now seemed soaked in blood pouring from the heavens, releasing a formidable aura.
“Immortal Asylum! That’s the Immortal Asylum!” The Crown Prince’s exhilarated voice boomed like thunder, resonating far and wide.
“The White Emperor has conquered the Immortal Asylum!”
“The White Emperor now wields the Immortal Asylum!”
For the entire imperial family, this was monumental news, enough to drive them to revelry in their most desperate hour.
“Destroy the Great Mother!”
With a vengeance as deep as the sky was high, they awaited the White Emperor’s revenge, their hearts now spurred by the same brutality and ferocity, no longer fearful, their faces as fierce as any demon or devil!
BOOM! The White Emperor, with his crimson hair and eyes, his aura eerie and powerful, did not disappoint them.
Shortly after appearing, he grasped the blood-stained Immortal Asylum with both hands, his expression cold, descending from the heavens.
With a thunderous roar, the Immortal Asylum extended hundreds of feet in the blink of an eye, transforming into a crimson pillar that smashed down upon the Great Mother.
The Great Mother had long been aware of the Immortal Asylum! This was the sole flaw in her plan today. Despite her urgency, she never imagined that the White Emperor could conquer the Immortal Asylum in such a brief span.
Her rage shook the entire Heavenly Palace, her roar reverberating across the divine land. She gathered all her might to block the towering crimson pillar.
BOOM! The pillar, like a mighty celestial cleaver, crashed down. When it struck the mountain of flesh and blood, it split it as effortlessly as cleaving tofu, exploding into a sky full of gore that splattered across the heavens and earth!
In that moment of explosive devastation, the Great Mother screamed—a piercing cry that resonated across the battlefield, causing countless demons and devils to cover their ears, their hearts trembling deeply.
They witnessed the Great Mother smashed into two parts—one significantly larger than the other, roughly split seven to three.
Such a horrific and violent spectacle shook everyone present, and her scream pierced their hearts.
The blood of the Great Mother scattered across half the Heavenly Palace.
The sight stunned many demons and devils. After all, the shadow the Great Mother had cast over all the inhabitants of Naraka had been immense. Who could have imagined that the White Emperor, wielding the Immortal Asylum, could split her in two with a single strike!
“Divine power! Divine power!” The Crown Prince, witnessing this scene, could no longer contain himself. His face turned crimson as he bellowed in a frenzy.
All the celestial officials, invigorated, joined his deafening roar.
All the repression of today was released in that one strike.
“The divine might of the White Emperor, annihilating the Great Mother!”
“Kill! Kill!!”
Their roars echoed across the Heavenly Palace, shaking the divine land.
In this desperate moment, the larger portion of the flesh mountain reacted swiftly, transforming into a pale woman of eight feet tall!
The smaller mass exploded into gore, rushing towards the crimson-haired White Emperor.
“It’s not over! Not over yet!” the towering woman screamed, turning and fleeing into the crowd of demons and devils, vanishing in an instant, and making her escape.
With a splash, as she vanished, the smaller mass of flesh and blood, under the ferocious assault of the blood-colored Immortal Asylum, erupted into a rain of gore that burst open across the Heavenly Palace, effectively rendering that area lifeless.
The entire Celestial Court was engulfed by blood and the stench of decaying flesh.
“She’s not dead yet, pursue her!” the Crown Prince shouted, his voice ringing out as he craned his neck.
The Great Mother had fled! Naturally, all the imperial family members wanted to seize this chance to destroy her, but they were clueless about where she had escaped to.
The White Emperor glanced in the direction she had disappeared.
With a flash of blood light which disoriented many, it appeared even the Devil Eye had made its escape in time.
The White Emperor, with his eyes a cold abyss, showed no intent to pursue. Instead, in a voice as deep as the ocean, he commanded, “Clear the battlefield, drive out the demons and devils.”
“Yes!”
The celestial officials, Constellation Army, and 18 Department Legions, no matter how grievous their losses, now rose. Under the White Emperor’s command, they turned on the remaining demons and devils.
With both the Great Mother and Devil Eye gone, what fight could the remaining demons and devils muster?
Buzzing with the fervor of battle, Naraka’s forces turned tail and fled in panic, following in the direction the Great Mother had taken.
At this moment, the roles of hunter and hunted reversed.
Without the Great Mother and the Devil Eye the severely weakened Constellation Army found itself, for a moment, on the stronger side, mercilessly pursuing the fleeing demons and devils!
Of course, their advantage was not as great as the demons and devils had been before. This pursuit unto death left both sides racking up casualties, with more bodies falling.
Even so, the imperial family finally saw a chance for vengeance!
The entire Heavenly Palace was still a battlefield soaked in blood.
In that moment, the White Emperor, holding the blood-stained Immortal Asylum, descended from the heavens, his crimson hair fluttering as he landed before the palace.
“Your Majesty!”
The Crown Prince, Empress Zhao, and all the celestial officials, filled with reverence, prostrated themselves on the ground, their eyes casting sidelong glances at the Immortal Asylum, deeply awed.
“Rise.”
The voice of the White Emperor was deep and hoarse, his face expressionless, which commanded even greater respect.
“Father, why not pursue them to the end and completely eradicate the scourge of the Celestial Demon Abyss?” the Crown Prince asked excitedly.
The White Emperor glanced at him but remained silent.
“True! The Great Mother is adept at preserving her life, pursuing her might not be fruitful! Luckily, she only has the Celestial Demon Abyss as her lair. She’s been gravely injured today; there will be other chances to end her,” the Crown Prince said with a forced smile, trying to ease the tension.
“How did the battle between Lu Fan and Yun Xiao turn out?” the White Emperor suddenly asked.
The Crown Prince’s smile reappeared. “The outcome brings joy, coupled with your control of the Immortal Asylum today, we have double cause for celebration.”
“You see the Heavenly Palace turned into a hellish battlefield, and call this a joyous occasion?” The White Emperor coldly swept his gaze over him.
The Crown Prince shivered, realizing his pride had carried him away, and quickly bowed his head. “Lu Fan was defeated by Yun Xiao. The Great Dao Celestial Army and Free Immortals have all sworn allegiance to Yun Xiao and the imposter. They’re now gathered at the Thunder Department, preparing to rebel.”
He mentioned this as a joy not because Yun Xiao was weak, but because both the young man and Divine Dawn had fatal weaknesses.
“The Great Mother has been weakened, Lu Fan barely survives, and the Celestial Court has endured this calamity. Next, we must dedicate ninety percent of our efforts to combat Yun Xiao and my daughter,” the White Emperor declared with a steely gaze.
“Yes, Father, let us reorganize and then we can deploy troops to attack the Thunder Department immediately, while also arranging our forces across the mortal stars…”
The Crown Prince was speaking of these ruthless plans when suddenly, the White Emperor collapsed stiffly to the ground, his hand releasing the Immortal Asylum.
In an instant, he fell unconscious, appearing much older, his hair and eyes returning to their natural color.
“Uh…”
The assembled celestial officials were speechless at this scene.
“Your Highness, shall we still march on the Thunder Department immediately?” Empress Zhao asked.
The Crown Prince quickly knelt down, lifting the White Emperor, and gritted his teeth. “Prepare the celestial elixirs first. His Majesty’s recovery comes before anything else!”
