Immortal Wife Omnipotent Father - Chapter 7 Mommy Became A Statue
Ether cautiously edged toward her mother like a curious cat, poking her softly before dashing away and hiding behind her father’s leg.
“Papa, Mommy turned into a statue!” Ether said with wide eyes.
“Just leave her be for now,” Mal said to his daughter, not wanting to tell her he suspected her mother had some sort of mental condition.
He would take Yasmin to the hospital in the next few days to have her check out when Ether was at school. Until then, they would just have to put up with it.
By lunchtime, Yasmin was still sitting in the lotus position on the couch like a statue without moving other than a strange breathing rhythm she was making. Mal thought he felt a faint breeze moving toward her a few times, but immediately brushed such thoughts off as crazy as they were indoors with all the windows closed.
“Ether, Papa finished another chapter,” Mal celebrated with his daughter, inspiring himself to keep updating chapters and also making it a fun pastime for Ether.
Mal left a large lunch on the table in front of Yasmin as he was unsure how much she had eaten recently, she was looking somewhat skinny in his eyes even though her chest had seemed to develop more than he recalled.
Late at night Mal put Ether, who always obediently went to sleep, to bed and also headed off to his room as well. He came out to check on Yasmin, and seeing her still sitting in the same position like a true statue, sighed inwardly as he pulled out a blanket from the linen closet and wrapped it around Yasmin.
Leaning over as he tucked the blanket around her so it wouldn’t fall off, he happened to catch the scent of orchids emanating off her and couldn’t help but feel his heartbeat quicken. Shaking his head, he couldn’t deny that she was truly the most beautiful woman he had ever met, even more so since she came back, but that didn’t change the fact that in his mind she abandoned him and their daughter.
As Ivan was nearly asleep, the door to his bedroom creaked open and Yasmin walked in, her soft feet paddling on the cold polished timber floor.
“This Empress has come to discuss a matter with you,” Yasmin arrogantly said looking down on Mal sleeping with cold eyes that seemed reflective in the dark.
“What?” Mal asked with a grunt.
“Is that anyway to speak with this Empress!?” Yasmin raised her voice to a shout.
“Be quiet, or shut up and get out,” Mal hissed under his breath. “Ether is sleeping in just the next room.”
“Forget it, you clearly don’t want to hear what this Empress has to say!” Yasmin, still just as loud, turned around and fled from the bedroom.
Once it everything was quiet again, Ether silently came toddling into her father’s room with a small unicorn stuffed toy. She snuck into the bedsheets and curled up against Mal, her small body slightly trembling.
Mal knew Ether had been through a lot today, her mother suddenly reappearing, and being completely different from how she always thought she was. Mal didn’t say anything, merely brushing the hair out of her face and letting her curl up against him.
