Immortal Wife Omnipotent Father - Chapter 9 Mommy Is Sick
“Ether, can you please go to your room for a bit? I want to talk with your mom about a few things,” Mal gently asked as he kissed her forehead.
“Okayyy~” Ether said as she kissed him back on the cheek before picking up the dolls on the floor before toddling off.
“Sit,” Mal commanded Yasmin one his daughter was gone, pulling her down to sit on the couch beside her.
Yasmin could have easily kicked her heels in and refused to move, but she had difficulty refusing her husband and allowed herself to be pulled down.
Mal turned on the morning news and turned up the volume slightly just in case his cheeky daughter was listening with her ear to the door.
“Explain yourself. What was that just now, and where have you been all this time?”
After a long period getting through Yasmin referring to herself as an Empress and with a royal ‘we’, Mal finally heard the full story of how she got stuck in another world and lived there for five thousand years.
“So, you left while pregnant. You mean my son is there?” Mal interrogated Yasmin sternly.
Yasmin knew this question would come up eventually, but was still unsure how to answer. She had inhabited the body of someone else, therefore the child that was present in the womb at the time, while can be considered part hers, was not related to Mal in any way.
“Yes,” Yasmin bluntly lied as she couldn’t think of any other answer.
Mal didn’t say anything but stood up and headed toward Ether’s room. He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry when as he approached, he noticed Ether’s little footsteps running away from the door where she had been trying to listen to the conversation in the living room.
Inside the bedroom, Ether was lying on her pink bedspread as she smiled sheepishly at her father with her small unicorn doll in her arms.
“Enough being cheeky Ether, we need to take your mother to the hospital,” Mal said with a sorrowful look.
Ether was shocked at this news and she asked nervously, “Is mommy sick?”
“Yes. She’s sick in the head. I need the doctor to find out how sick she is though.”
Yasmin had greatly enhanced hearing due to her cultivation, so she could naturally hear everything Mal said to her daughter. She had taken great strength to push past her arrogance and slowly tell him everything that had happened, but now she was being accused of being mentally ill. At this moment she still had a cold expression on her face, but the only thing she wanted to do was bury her head in a hole.
Mal came back out and looked at Yasmin as he said, “I want to take you to a hospital to have a check-up.”
“This Empress is in perfect health. There is no possibility we could be ill.”
“Just hurry up and come,” Mal said without patience as he grabbed her arm and pulled her up.
