Impenetrable Dungeon - Chapter 10
Pharos and Xako caused chaos on the line of ranged combatants. Golden and crimson coloured flames ravaged the adventurers as they jumped around like fish in boiling water. They swung their blades in unison and met the [Fireballs] that were flying towards them. Delsair cast [Fire Arrows] then she combined it with [Water Arrows] and [Wind Arrows]. Her bowstring constantly vibrated as the adventurers tried their hardest to dodge the arrow rain however not everyone was agile enough to do so. Two adventurers were pierced by Delsair’s attack. They retreated as they tried to bandage their bleeding wounds. Unfortunately, Pharos didn’t allow them. She cast [Fire Arrows] at point blank range. Small crimson arrows formed on her palm and they took off as she thrust her palm forward. The two injured adventurers quickly died and the other adventurers were heavily injured. Xako immediately cast [Fire Storm] and finished off the two remaining adventurers.
Meanwhile, Drathalsiel and Mimphralgos were having a hard time containing the five close combatants. Asura had lead Azzid and Kerrigan away to scout the incoming adventurers. This left the two of them to fight the group of five adventurers all by themselves. Worse, they had some good equipment and were quite skilled. They persevered as they rapidly cast [Shadow Spike] and [Light Arrows]. They also had to constantly cast their defence magic, [Shadow Carapace] and [Holy Shield], to protect themselves from the occasional combo that the adventurers did. Drathalsiel also had to sometimes cast [Light Heal] since Mimphralgos was being too reckless sometimes and trading blow for blow.
Mimphralgos suddenly jumped and thrust out his palm. [Shadow Spike] was instantly cast and dozens of jet black spikes rained down on the adventures. The only two with shields stepped up and linked their shields together and cast [Earth Wall] then they stacked [Criss-Cross Iron Mesh] on top of it. The black spikes penetrated an inch in the wall of solid rock and mud before stopping. As the adventurers tried to catch breath they were suddenly suppressed by a swarm of unrelenting light beams. These were none other than [Light Arrows] which Drathalsiel had cast. The unrelentingly attacked the [Earth Wall] like waves constantly crashing on the beach and slowly but surely eroding it away.
The remaining three adventurers saw this so they immediately acted and tried to stop the angel and the demon from casting any more long-range attacks. Suddenly, a hail of arrows whistled down from the sky and greeted them. They fell with force equalling that of a bomb! One of the adventurers with dual swords reacted instantly and dual cast [Storm Breath] and [Squall of Wind and Fire]. These were two extremely powerful spells! One must know that to cast a spell that summoned more than one element required large amounts of mana and talent. This shows that this adventurer was someone with a prominent background! Furthermore, he was able to cast two elements that complimented and boosted each other and he was still standing. This meant that he either had large mana reserves or he had a high mastery of his magic.
Delsair frowned when she saw this. She didn’t expect that the opponent would be so powerful. Moreover, the group from the South was even stronger. Delsair could feel their tremendous magic control and their hidden power. If they fought the two groups at the same time the Honour Guards would most likely suffer a grievous defeat. Thinking of this she quickly told Mimphralgos and Drathalsiel, “Quickly finish this. I don’t want any more surprises.” Then she cast [Elemental Arrow Rain] and immediately after [Arrow Storm]. These were two skills that covered a cast amount of land and was very useful in cornering your opponent or killing large groups of enemies. The adventurer with a background frowned at this and he immediately took out two scrolls from his bag and ripped them apart. One of them was a [Instant Teleport] scroll which could teleport a person to a previously specified location within 500,000 kilometres. The second one was a [Superimosed Wave Shield] that brought together the power of a hundred [Wave Shields] to block the enemy’s attack. This further proved that this person had a powerful background. Unfortunately, he disappeared in a flash of light.
The other two also quickly took out scrolls and ripped them apart. It was an [instantaneous Movement] scroll which allowed the user to be teleported to a specified area with an error of 80,000 kilometres. This was a common scroll adventurers would use to escape from dungeons as they usually set the target destination as the capital of their land which covered at least 250,000 hectares of land. So although they could be outside of the city, they would still be within the governing area of the capital which is at least 8 million hectares. Unfortunately, the two shield warriors couldn’t make it and died under the hands of the three.
The five could barely rest when Asura and rest came charging into the valley. They were being chased by a group of fifteen adventurers who were wearing some decent gear and they were casting some weaker amateur spells such as [Magma Ball] and [Ice Spears x10] It wasn’t considered as powerful since they weren’t intermediate level spells yet but they were definitely stronger than the basic spell that the Honour Guards have been using apart from the magic that Delsair had just cast, [Elemental Arrow Rain] and [Arrow Storm]. Seeing that the enemies were stronger, they no longer held back. They decided to use all the skills at their disposal that could be considered an Apprentice Rank attack. “Go all out,” Asura said. Kerrigan was still casting [Lightning] but upon hearing Asura she immediately stopped and dual cast [Chain Lightning] and [Tsunami]. Xako used [Earth Magic: Earth Pillars] to slow down the group as Pharos swung her swords and used [Thunder Storm] and [Water Magic: Crying Heavens]
