Impenetrable Dungeon - Chapter 30
A circular dark blue portal opened up in the void. Out of the portal came out two figures followed by ten cloaked figures. Of the two leading figures, one was a floating ball and the other was a cloaked humanoid. “Hmm? Where’s the event?” the cloaked figure asked. Suddenly the void shimmered and a giant ancient-looking pagoda appeared in the void. “Oh, that’s interesting. Gaia, try and experiment with that and implement it on our dungeon. It would prove to be quite useful when we start fighting with other dungeons. Well, they can’t fight us if they can’t find us can they?” the cloaked figure chuckled at the thought. This group was without a doubt Marcus and Gaia and their ten combatants. The giant pagoda had a massive plaque on the front that said: “Thousand Treasures Pagoda.” “I’m guessing that the Thousand Treasures Auction was named after this place?” Marcus asked rhetorically, “Well let’s go there then.” The group then started to float towards the Thousand Treasures Pagoda.
As they made their way towards the Thousand Treasures Pagoda, the massive black iron door on the front of the pagoda slowly opened welcoming the group. A floating white orb appeared in front of them, “Welcome to the Thousand Treasures Pagoda Lord Marcus and Lord Gaia. I am White-One and will be your guide every time your Lordships visits our humble pagoda.”
“Oh nice to meet you White-One,” Marcus enthusiastically replied.
“I am unworthy,” the white orb replied.
“You are a Light Spirit, right?” Marcus asked.
“That’s right Your Lordship,” the white orb replied, “I am a Grade One Light Spirit thus the name, White-One.”
“Alright, then White-One take us to the venue.”

“Understood. Please follow me.”
The white orb slowly floated forward leading the way. “Here is the auction list for the annual auction.” Suddenly the white orb produced a piece of paper from thin air.
“Oh, there is an auction list?” Marcus asked, surprised.
“Yes, however, this list is only for the ordinary auction which will occur first. It will be followed by the elite and special auctions.”
“There are three auctions?” Marcus asked.
“Yes. The normal auction has ten thousand items which are usually of little value and would probably not interest someone like Your Lordship. The elite auction has a hundred items and some items are actually valuable. If you are lucky you could find a very special item from this auction. As for the special auction… it only has ten items but each item is definitely a rare item. This auction will not occur annually but rather only when we are able to collect enough treasures to host it. Worry not, the elite and normal auctions will be hosted annually when our Thousand Treasures Pagoda hosts the Thousand Treasures Auction for the Dungeon Masters.”
“I see… Is there a special auction this year?” Marcus asked.
“Of course, otherwise we would no longer have the face to call ourselves the Number One Treasure Pagoda.”
Marcus smiled and looked down at the piece of paper in his hand. On the very top, a few characters were printed in a golden font which said: “Thousand Treasures Auction List.” Beneath were ten thousand different items printed in a very fine font. Marcus was wondering if there was anything special with the piece of paper in his hands when he heard that there were a thousand items being auctioned but it seems that the auction simply wanted to save paper, or they are just extremely stingy. Either way, it didn’t matter as Marcus had very sharp eyesight and could easily the fine print due to his strong cultivation. Perhaps the fine print was meant to be a test to prevent posers? The first few items didn’t really attract Marcus. Sure they were hard to find but they weren’t rare at all and could be easily bought with enough capital. Items like a Fire Core or Water Source Core were just hard to find but can be found with enough capital. If one was strong enough and with the right environment you could simply make one instead. There were also weapons made by famous blacksmiths from all around the Multiverse but these weren’t very attractive to Marcus as he had Granmir the dwarf who had an amazing talent for blacksmithing. Marcus could simply ask him to make the equipment that he needed. Of course the same couldn’t be said for other Dungeon Masters and Dungeons. They would most likely not be fortunate enough to be able to buy a dwarf from the Aether Shop. Gaia had browsed the Aether Shop for a long time before he was able to find the Cave Dwarves and Wood Elves. That being said, Cave Dwarves weren’t exactly well known for blacksmithing but more well known for architecture.
The Aether Shop was were all Dungeon Cores could trade Dungeon Points(DP) for various items. DP is basically just quantified mana. Dungeons absorb mana from those who challenge the dungeon and from the surroundings outside the dungeon. This mana is used for various things such as terraforming the dungeon and sustaining the lifeforms in the dungeon. The Will of the Aether needs mana to grow and survive. It also needs it to sustain those working for it. So for ease of trading DP was created. It is much more precise than saying “I want roughly this much mana for that item.”
As Marcus browsed down the list some items started to catch his eye not because they were rare and special but rather because he needed them for the dungeon. Though not for practical purposes rather for aesthetic purposes. He felt that the current dungeon was lacking in colour so he wanted to add some colour and make the dungeon look more lively. He found some Eternal Moss to add to the 2nd Floor to make it look old. As he thought of that a brilliant idea formed in his mind. He decided to make a ruin in his dungeon for adventurers to explore. Those abandoned castles left behind due to the Human Civil War finally had some use. He then found some Lightning Rod Trees, Everlasting Clouds and a Source of Thunder to create some thunderstorms in the Dark Forest. He also found some Purple Mist Grass which produces a dark purple mist to make the Dark Forest ‘dark’. Then he found some Green Striped Anemones also known as “Tornado Omen”. These flowers love to grow in a vast area where there is lots of wind. However, since finding a vast place that has harsh winds is difficult they ended up, somehow, developing the ability to attract powerful winds to their location. Needless to say, their new home will be the not so gentle Gentle Plains. He then found a bunch of Hundred Year Old Fire Spirit Rocks and Thousand Year Old Frozen Iron Essence to add to the Khrukhara Mountains. Of course, he can only add them if he wins the auction.
