Impenetrable Dungeon - Chapter 39
After Escor won the first item the following items barely attracted the attention of the Dungeon Masters. They watched on in boredom as they waited for an interesting item to be presented. Soon one such item garnered their attention. It was a litter of small furry beasts with black furs draped over their bodies. Their cute little eyes looked innocently at the spectators as if pleading to buy them. There was three of them locked up in a large metal cage. They excitedly explored their new temporary home with great interest. They were energetically jumping from bar to bar as they chased after each other with their cute little extended out as if wanting to catch something.
Marcus saw the little beasts and looked at the other guests. He saw them in a daze as they were smitten by the cute and fluffy adorable little beasts. However, he knew exactly what those beasts were and they were far from being adorable. In at most a month they would turn into nasty beasts who would thrust a knife into your back if not properly trained. However, they were also very loyal companions and would die for their masters. This was on the precedent that the master was able to train them and gain their unwavering trust.
for visiting.
It is very easy to get the short term interest of these cute lovable things but it is hard to keep their attention on you. Unless you present them with something irresistible on your meeting they would quickly lose interest in you. The problem was their tastes rapidly changed and there is no same one with the same preference. However, they were also very reliant on their siblings and moved as a group and made decisions as a group. So in order to truly gain control of those little lovely figures required one to present something that would interest them all. Thus lay the problem, they never had overlapping interests. One could try with something that encompassed more interests but that would risk them not being entirely loyal. In any case, it didn’t matter to him as he had no interest in them. He already had plenty of beasts in his dungeon and the three Overlords’ potential was no less than those three. In fact, he favoured the battle-hardened Overlords more than those three. However, he saw that a certain someone was very interested in those fluffy terrors.
He turned his gaze and he saw Escor looking at the beasts with sparkling eyes. His mouth was wide open – big enough to fit an egg. He had a wide smile on his face that spread from ear to ear and most of all his eyes exuded confidence that he could tame all the little terrors without any drawbacks or sacrificing anything in exchange. Escor snapped out of his daze and he saw Marcus looking at him with a questioning gaze. He slightly nodded and smiled as if to reassure Marcus. In his heart, he already treated Marcus as his teacher and master. He only held himself back from swearing his allegiance as he felt dissatisfied with his own force. However, the Tracan warriors already gave him some confidence and the addition of these adorable fluffy beasts would further embolden him.
Seeing that his guests had snapped out of their daze the auctioneer quickly introduced the item, “As you can see this his is a litter of beasts! But not just any beast because these adorable little things are none other than famed Rimroa Beasts! The starting price is 12 DP with each consecutive bid at least 1 DP! Being able to tame them will be none of our concern but the winner of the auction must pay the agreed price regardless of whether they are tamed or not!”
Most of the VIP guests reluctantly redirected their gazes. They felt like they were staring at alluring poisonous mushrooms which could instantly kill them. Other than a few others who felt confident in their abilities or are just downright ignorant the rest hurriedly withdrew their gazes. The auctioneer’s announcement also made the Dungeon Masters lose interest with the exception of Escor. Why should they spend their finances on something that might stab them in the back? If they could find an egg of a Rimroa Beast instead then they could just hatch it in their dungeon and it would have unwavering loyalty towards them by virtue of the laws of the dungeon. The auction quickly ended with Escor winning the Rimroa Beasts for 135 DP. This exhausted about two-thirds of his liquid funds however he was extremely happy. He didn’t plan on buying anything in the Special Auction anyway as his liquid finances simply weren’t enough to do so. Therefore he was very content with being able to buy two amazing loyal warriors with two-thirds of his finances.
After this, there were no other noteworthy items that caught the haughty eyes of the Dungeon Masters. The auction rapidly progressed until the final item was very quickly presented. The final item caught the eyes of all the guests and their eyes very quickly expanded in size. On the stage was a bed and on that bed were two sleeping goddesses whose beauty was enough to shake the mortal world and perhaps even some Gods would fall heads over heels for them. They had identical features and were about the same age which showed that they were clearly twins. They had well-defined soft features that caught the eyes of men and refused to let them go. Their sleeping figures made many people stop breathing and look on in awe and wonder as they hoped to never leave that moment.
“This is the last and final auction of our Thousand Treasures Auction’s Elite Auction! As the grand finale, we present to you these two goddesses with unmatched beauty that is enough to capture the hearts of many as people look at them in awe and wonder,” the auctioneer happily announced.
Meanwhile, Marcus watched on with indifference. However, his interested eyes couldn’t be hidden as gazed at the twins.
