In High School Dxd With Powers Of Nanatsu No Taizai - Chapter 17
The instant the snake moved, Leo jumped forward without realizing that the snake’s tail was heading towards him.
~ SLASH
The snake’s tail moved taking advantage of the opening and cut his arm, without stopping, the snake continued its attack leaving Leo on the defensive.
~ CRASH
The sickle and tail collided continuously. At the same time, the snake and Leo moved from side to side destroying the entire forest.
Being cornered, Leo continued to defend himself
with his only arm while trying to separate from the snake.
When the snake realized that Leo was trying to escape, it growled and turned towards Leo with its jaws open.
Smiling at its action, Leo moved even faster to where it was and swung his shoulder in the direction where his arm had fallen. The dark matter moved over his shoulder, like a spider web, dark matter joined his amputated arm and returned to its original position.
Once he joined his arm, Leo formed a huge sword and swung his sword toward the snake’s jaw.
The snake did not remain inactive and at the moment when Leo recovered his arm, he formed a barrier to protect himself.
~ BOOM
Unlike the barrier of the devils that Leo faced before, it was more resistant, so once his sword hit the barrier he could not easily cross it.
Turning on itself, the snake formed more magical circles around it bombing Leo in all directions.
“Full counter!”
Followed by a great flash, Leo countered all snake attacks.
Heading towards the snake, Leo reinforced his sword with more magic and cut towards the snake horizontally continuing his ȧssault.
A single cut in his current state was able to push back the snake while creating a bloody wound on its body.
Before the snake could fight back, Leo approached it and turned his sword to protect himself from snake attacks.
Some attacks were close to brushing him but Leo dodged each time without stopping and continued to hit the snake.
While it was true that the scales of the snake were quite resistant, the longer the battle was going on, the snake received more damage and its scales were not able to protect it from Leo’s ȧssault.
~ CLANK CLANK CLANK
Watching Leo who was accelerating slowly, the snake was enraged and a red aura came out of her in a single burst.
Leo was not dissuaded however, instead, he increased his speed.
~ BANG! CRACK!
Blocking one of Leo’s blows, the snake growled when Leo broke its scales creating a superficial wound on its back.
‘The reason I can’t penetrate its scales is not that its scales are too hard, it’s because it uses magic to distribute the damage that it receives throughout its body. Its ability is like a mantle that covers its scales and if this mantle breaks, it has its scales to protect it.’ Leo thought to himself.
However, to use that skill with its body, it would have to spend a lot of magic.
Even Leo couldn’t do the same, even with his monstrous reserve of magic for his age.
While there was also the option of limiting the area of effect of the skill, it was not a good solution since its huge body also served to distribute the damage by a large margin. Not to mention the fact that once it received too much damage it would be vulnerable to attacks if its scales were not able to protect it.
To make matters worse, the damage would accumulate in the mantle and expel the excess as before.
While it wasn’t a perfect skill, Leo still found it quite useful.
‘Huh? What would happen if I used Dark Nebula as the snake does? that would be interesting … ‘ Leo thought to himself.
While he was not so competent in the use of magic, Leo could still make several changes in its ability to work with dark matter.
For skills like that, he needs to have great control of his magic because he would have to create a mantle that covers his body at all times which would increase the expense of his magic reserves, but the power released at the very end would far exceed that of the snake and would be able to exterminate everything around it with the dark matter.
Once he discovered how its ability worked, he continued attacking the snake without giving it time to expel excess magic.
Continuing with his offense, Leo smiled when he discovered that the snake could no longer keep its protective mantle.
leaping backward, Leo gathers the dark matter in his hand.
The snake went on guard, but it was too late since Leo had already appeared behind her.
“HAA!”
A beam of dark matter emerged from Leo’s hand, shattering the scales of the snake, like paper.
A black aura covered him and numerous black spots began to appear around him.
Scattering into several hundred snowflakes, they fell towards the snake surrounded it in a storm of snowflakes.
“Wow…” Okita muttered seeing the black dots that surrounded the snake and attacked it from all directions.
One of the flakes had even managed to pluck a large piece of meat. Grunting, the snake decided to withdraw.
“As if I was going to leave you!”
Being stopped by Leo, the snake opened its jaws trying to swallow Leo.
Arriving in front of the snake, Leo gave it no chance to escape and cut the area closest to its head.
~ CHII CHII
Blood splashed everywhere. The snake’s head, which was as wide as a house, was separated from its body but continued to fly towards Leo.
Seeing at the head of the huge snake that was about to reach him, Leo jumped over the snake’s head and kicked hard down, sending the snake’s head to the ground.
“This has been harder than I thought… I should come back now, I want to test that ability as soon as possible.” Leo sighed as he stretched his body.
Once he finished stretching, he took out the paper Serafall had given him and tore it. A magic circle appeared under his legs covering the area where he was.
~ Swoosh!
At that moment, Leo felt a sudden burning in his left arm.
Looking at his arm, he found spear embedded in it. Not only that.
The spear was made of light!
“Tsk, if you try to kill me it takes more than just a spear or you will end up like the snake” Leo muttered raising an eyebrow. As he was a demon, the light-based attacks caused him considerable damage. But the spear did not cause him much harm, which meant that the angel who attacked him was weaker than him.
Looking in the direction in which the spear came, he could see a fallen angel who was quite familiar to him.
Raynare was quite far from Leo and surrounded by several devils that protected her.
When Raynare realized that her surprise attack failed, she immediately retired along with the devils that protected her.
“That was close, a little more and you would be headless.” Okita said as she looked at Leo’s wound.
Once the spear was out, the wound began to heal at a visible speed but slower than it should.
‘Although the blow did not cause me much damage, it slowed my healing it doesn’t matter how resistant it is, the light energy will affect me negatively.’ Leo thought to himself.
“Before you go, I would like you to give Serafall a message from me” Okita said calmly.
“What is it about?” Leo asked after a brief pause.
As he was busy dealing with the snake, Leo could not observe what Okita was doing, but he knew that he was watching him at all times while killing a few hundred devils.
“Just tell her this: ‘In Tokyo, they are hunting foxes’ and was his obligation to take care of the problems in Tokyo and not mine.” He said.
“No problem, I will tell her” Leo replied.
When Leo finished speaking, the magic circle was complete and brightness intensely as disappeared Leo.
“Well, it seems I have to deal with this first.” Okita muttered looking at the huge castle.
