In High School Dxd With Powers Of Nanatsu No Taizai - Chapter 38
“Fuu … finally, home” Leo muttered once he appeared at his house.
“Mom, Dad,” Leo yelled. He waited for an answer but when he didn’t hear an answer, he used his demonic energy to inspect the house and sighed with relief: “Sigh … They haven’t arrived yet”
Walking with heavy steps to his bed, Leo leaped onto the bed. Before he could fall asleep, he looked at the barrier at the side of her bed.
“I can’t leave it there, can I?” Leo muttered wearily and reluctantly got out of bed.
Opening his hand, a magic circle slowly formed in his palm and after a few seconds, the magic circle was fully formed. Waving his hand, the magic circle covered the barrier.
“I hope this is enough,” Leo muttered wearily before going back to bed. Although his body was in perfect condition, mentally he was at his limit.
___
The next morning, once his father and mother left for work, Leo forced himself to get out of bed even though he wanted to enjoy his weekend quietly, the barrier that was on the edge of his bed would not let him rest easy.
But before examining the barrier, he wanted to finish his most recent investigation.
Forming a magic circle in his hand. Leo examined him for a few seconds.
“Hmm. I can still improve the speed with which he dialed a target and the distance, “Leo muttered.
The principles of teleportation consisted of using magic circles as a means, knowing this, he slightly modified Gokuencho’s spell so that instead of using the normal mark, he would use a mark to teleport to the designated target.
Very simple, right?
Although most were advantages, the great disadvantage of this technique was that once he gets away from the mark, he misses the connection with it and could no longer teleport. Also, after yesterday’s tests, he believed his limit was about 20km.
With that in mind, he spent the next two hours researching ways to improve the spell’s efficiency, but after many hours he couldn’t think of anything to improve it.
With that in mind, he spent the next two hours researching ways to improve the spell’s efficiency, but after many hours he couldn’t think of anything to improve it.
Resigned, he could only postpone the investigation.
With the investigation of the teleportation spell postponed, Leo focused his attention on the barrier but was presented with another problem.
“Where do I start,” He muttered as he examined the barrier.
After examining the barrier for a few minutes, he couldn’t understand absolutely anything about the composition of the barrier. The formations were made up of smaller formations which in turn was made up of thousands of smaller formations.
“As I thought, it is too complicated” Leo concluded. Since he couldn’t decipher the barrier, he could just as well try to break it.
Transforming his arm into a sword, Leo cut towards the barrier.
* Crash
His “sword” collided with the barrier and only left a small cut.
Seeing as his attack did nothing, Leo moved his “sword” even faster short toward the barrier.
“Mn … It’s quite resistant to physical attacks” Leo thought as he looked at the barrier. The barrier was almost intact except for a few small cuts on its surface.
Curious, Leo moved his hand and a small flame appeared in the palm of his hand. Placing his hand on top of the barrier, Leo slowly increased the size of the flame until the barrier was completely consumed by the flames.
“It is also resistant to spells and is capable of regeneration. You must be kidding right, this damn thing is almost impenetrable” Leo murmured. Even after a flame bath, the barrier was still in perfect condition and even the small cuts caused by his “sword” had disappeared.
“Nothing works against this thing and trying to analyze it is impossible with my current capabilities but if magic and physical attacks don’t work against it, it’s time to take out the heavy artillery,” Leo thought with a while rubbing his chin.
Waving his hand, a black flame appeared on his finger. Bringing his finger closer to the barrier, he watched how the flame slowly melted the barrier before the barrier would light up and attempt to regenerate.
“Even the purgatory fire is not capable of destroying it,” Leo muttered in shock.
The barrier did not seem to want to give up and continued trying to regenerate but after a while, its brightness dimmed and its regeneration visibly slowed down.
“If I leave it like this, it will be long before I can destroy the barrier,” Leo muttered. So he let the little flame do its work as he tried to figure out how the barrier was able to withstand his dark matter attacks and even the fire from purgatory would take quite a long time. Also, Leo had an idea of who the person inside the barrier was and that made everything quite troublesome.
“Oh … I almost forgot. I have not yet examined the memories of the exorcists.”
As he was investigating the teleportation spell and the barrier, Leo completely forgot to examine the memories of the souls he ate.
Debating whether or not he should look at the memories, he finally closed his eyes and resigned himself to seeing the memories even though he knew that he would not like what he would see.
Inside his mind, he navigated his mental passage until he reached an area made up of various points of light. Before it entered the exorcists’ memories, he looked at a small sphere of light that was very close to several strange symbols.
‘It should be time for me to build my sacred treasure.’
Leaving those thoughts behind, Leo’s mind wandered for a few seconds before refocusing his attention on the souls of the exorcists.
“It’s the moment”
After an unknown time interval, Leo was finally able to see various scenes, most of the scenes were from the daily life of a child but since he was not interested in the childhood of some random exorcist, he skipped that part.
“Yachi !! Ryo-chan is here, hurry up”
