“Oh, didnt mean to startle you,” Might Guy said with his usual weird way of talking. “I was just curious as to if you were the guy who was from a different world….”
Hans looked left and right, as if checking to make sure Guy was talking to him. “Well yeah, I guess I am…Whats up? Do you need me for something sir?”
“Actually, I was hoping to borrow you tomorrow for a little sparring and test out you power of youth,” Guy said, hding up a thumbs up and flashing a smile. “Just ask Kakashi and he’ll take you to the sparring ground tomorrow morning.”
With those words he turned around and jumped onto the roof of the nearest building and disappeared.
“Whats with everyone jumping onto roofs in this place?” Hans asked as he turned his attention back to the Hyuga Clan entrance. “That and he didn’t even give me a chance to accept or refuse. Guess I got no choice but to accept and embrace my power of youth.”
He broke into a run, no longer interested in distractions, as he had already had to pause twice. All he had to do was not stop and ignore everyone else, no matter who called him.
However, just as the most recent song that had been playing ended, a voice called out for him, yelling for him to hold up and wait. Against his own better judgement, Hans slid to a halt and turned his head, more then a bit annoyed by the new distraction.
The people that had called out to him however were none other than Ino and Hinata, both waving and running over to him. It immediately washed away all traces of irritation he had felt about being called.
“Hey girls,” Hans said as they stopped in front of him. “I thought you had already gone your separate ways. Was the Ichiraku ramen line THAT long?”
“Well actually it was,” Ino said with a small smile. “It took us FOREVER to try out that new ramen, but it was worth it wasn’t it Hinata.”
Hinata nodded with a reminiscent smile, as if she could still remember the taste. “It was great.” She glanced at the headphones covering Hans ears. “What are you listening to?”
“I’ll show both of you on my laptop when we get to your house Hinata,” Hans said with a small gleam of excitment in his eye. “I cant wait to show you girls my list of music.”
He turned around and slid the beats to hang around his neck. “I think you girls should lead the way, so I’ll need you to take the lead Hinata.”
He waited until both Ino and Hinata were a good few feet away before following them, humming the song “Heathens” (by Twenty-One Pilots) softly under his breath as he walked.
It only took about ten minutes until they were standing in front of Hinata’s house. The time spent walking flew by pretty quickly for Hans as he spent the majority of the walk thinking about songs he could play for the two girls.
“Okay, so you two can just settle in the courtyard while I go and prepare something for everyone.” Hinata said as she opened the door to her home. She had obviously been raised to show guests good hospitality as she even held the door open for the two of them.
Hans walked inside, took off his shoes to leave by the door, found a comfortable spot in the center courtyard to sit and took off his backpack.
Fishing out his laptop, Hans began to get his music set up to play as Ino came over and sat next to him.
“So what exactly do you call this contraption?” Ino asked as she watched Hans scroll through his downloaded music. “It looks so sophisticated and difficult to use.”
“Actually its called a laptop and its very easy to use, I’ll teach you how to use it later.” Hans said as he looked behind them, seeing Hinata coming over with three cups of liquid and three sandwiches.
“Hi, I brought over the snacks, I hope you guys didn’t have to wait too long.” Hinata said apologetically as she set down the snacks onto the floor before sitting on the other side of Hans.
“No, I had actually just barely set up the laptop to play music. Your actually ahead of schedule so way to go.” Hans said, giving her a small round of applause.
“Okay, so what are you gonna play for us first?” Hinata asked, her eyes fixed on the glowing laptop screen. “I’m a bit excited.”
“Well, thats my current problem, as I don’t know what kind of music the two of you would like.” Hans answered, scrolling bdown the list of his literally hundreds upon hundreds of songs. “Im debating about starting out witt pop or reggae, something to get you started on your way.”
“Just pick anything,” Ino said, pointing her finger at a random song title. “How about tjis one? I don’t know what it says but maybe you could play this one?”
The song that she had landed on was “Something Just Like This” (by Coldplay and The Chainsmokers), a song that had been one of his personal favorites…..by The Chainsmokers anyways. For Ino to pick it was pretty great as it was something that he didnt mind listening to.
After making sure the volume was turned all the way up, Hans pressed the play button and began the song. He switched his attention from the laptop to watch the girls reactions as the opening music began to echo out from the speakers.
He wasn’t disappointed either as both girls had looks of surprise on their face and backed away from the laptop real quick. Hans laughed softly and relaxed a little, closing his eyes.
This was one of his favorite songs by these two bands so he couldnt help but sing along just a little bit. Of course whenever he would sing, he would get a bit carried away and sing the whole song.
I’ve been reading books of old
The legends and the myths
Achilles and his gold
Hercules and his gifts
Spiderman’s control
And Batman with his fists
And clearly I don’t see myself upon that list
But she said, where’d you wanna go?
How much you wanna risk?
I’m not looking for somebody
With some superhuman gifts
Some superhero
Some fairytale bliss
Just something I can turn to
Somebody I can kiss
I want something just like this
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Oh, I want something just like this
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Oh, I want something just like this
I want something just like this
I’ve been reading books of old
The legends and the myths
The testaments they told
The moon and its eclipse
And Superman unrolls
A suit before he lifts
But I’m not the kind of person that it fits
She said, where’d you wanna go?
How much you wanna risk?
I’m not looking for somebody
With some superhuman gifts
Some superhero
Some fairytale bliss
Just something I can turn to
Somebody I can miss
I want something just like this
I want something just like this
I want something just like this
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Oh, I want something just like this
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Where’d you wanna go?
How much you wanna risk?
I’m not looking for somebody
With some superhuman gifts
Some superhero
Some fairytale bliss
Just something I can turn to
Somebody I can kiss
I want something just like this
Oh, I want something just like this
Oh, I want something just like this
Oh, I want something just like this
After the song hit the ending guitar riffs, Hans opened his eyes, feeling a great sense of pleasure emanatinf through him.
It had been more then a year since he sang do he had thought he had lost his touch, but every word he spoke had felt perfect. He had forgotten how much of a pleasure singing could bring to him.
He pressed the spacebar, pausing the song ending to grab his sandwich from off the tray. He was just about to take a bit when he noticed how silent it had gotten.
He turned to look at Hinata and backed away very fast, feeling a bit taken aback by her amazed face. He turned to Ino and found that she had the exact same face over hers.
“Okay girls, dial it back a bit on your faces or I’m gonna have to put the laptop away and leave.” Hans said, feeling a bit uncomfortable. They had completely killed the good vibes the song had given him. However they didn’t do it intentionally so he wasn’t really upset at them.
