Infinite Adventure - Chapter 41 Chapter 39
Kuina stood still while she waited, putting on a serious expression. Her trial was simple, someone should satisfy her using their own moves as a swordsman. They could show off whatever skills they had and even attack her, but if they were all garbage, nobody would make it through the Sword Path. To her, this was very simple. She only needed someone to draw their sword in a way that satisfied her.

When Kizaru and his men arrived, she began to explain how easy her trial was. Kizaru just got more annoyed at this. At first he had found the maze entertaining and went about as usual. He was easygoing, so he just told his crew to just go with it. Then there was a fork in the path which annoyed him a little since they just got through a maze already. Now there was some kind of trial?! Even though he was annoyed, he didn’t let it get to him.
He had already learned that Voi D. Sora and Monkey D. Luffy were related to Sengoku, Garp and Tsuru in some way. Luffy was Garps grandson, but he didn’t know about Sora. Still, he knew that Sora acted to entertain himself, so he was probably watching. This was definitely something he set up as his entertainment after somehow finding out their plans. Kizaru wasn’t going to get angry and give him more enjoyment!
“Ooh, interesting. Tell me, have you ever been kicked at the speed of light?” He said, as he rapidly appeared in front of Kuina and sent a light speed kick towards her side. She easily deflected it with her sword still sheathed, and then grabbed his leg and threw him back.
Kuina: “Use a sword, and impress me. Otherwise no matter how much you try, none of you will ever make it through here.”
She repeated herself again, and proceeded to neat Kizaru with her sheathed sword. “Attempt anything else and get a beating. Fail and you can continue to try.” She loudly proclaimed. She wanted to be sure everyone knew, and none of them could make an excuse. When she finished beating Kizaru, she tossed him back and ignored him. He didn’t use a sword, so why would she bother with him?
Soon, several brave Marines stepped forward with their swords and attempted to attack her. Each one failed and continued to try. Eventually several people thought they could just run past her while she was dealing with the attacks from several others only to be beaten and thrown back into the group like Kizaru. Kizaru himself was just watching her now. He had to wonder if his own sword technique would impress her.
Kizaru was a very good swordsman, that was for sure, but he knew he couldn’t compare to her. Just by their previous exchange, he had gotten beaten up without even a chance of fighting back. She even blocked his surprise attack light speed kick!! Not that it was actually a surprise attack, he announced it first, but he thought it was a surprise attack.
Eventually, he decided to join the party. Maybe he could even improve while trying to impress her with his sword technique, who knew?
Kizaru: “Ama no Murakumo!”
A sword of light formed in his hand and he went forward to clash with Kuina too. When he stepped up, all the other Marines backed off. In their heads, this was as good as done now that their Admiral had made his move. She only beat him earlier because he was playing around. It was a believable excuse since they knew of his extremely relaxed personality. Now that he was serious, it was over.
Kuina: “You’re a swordsman too?”
Kizaru: “Yeah, let’s see if I can impress you!”
As soon as he finished speaking, he turned into a stream of light and appeared once again above Kuinas head, cutting downward in an effort to bisect her. Kuina easily blocked that too. Kizaru anticipated that and once again appeared in front of her, slashing sideways. Once again, Kuina blocked. Like this their fight continued with Kuina blocking his every move as Kizaru put all his effort into his every attack.
Kizaru: “At the very least, I will get through this trial! Then, one day I’ll defeat you.”
Kuina: “That’s good. Since my husband isn’t a swordsman, I only have a few people around my same level to spar with.”
To be honest, Kuina had already been impressed. She was at 5% understanding in her Sword Law now and understood that Kizaru was very close to reaching 0%. Though she didn’t know if it was actually possible. She only continued in hopes to help him break through. She didn’t see him as an enemy to begin with, so she decided she would help him. Meanwhile, all of the Marines were in shock. Their Admiral was easily being played with from their perspective. This was an impossible trial! Why where they even after this group of monsters? From what they knew they had only fought Akainu! So what if they were related to Fire King Ace and Dark King Sabo? They couldn’t beat them either! Did the World Government want to kill itself? If they did, they didn’t have to involve others!!

Sorry to those who were expecting like 5 chapters for each path, I don’t like dragging stuff on. Its the reason I skip a lot of fights in cultivation novels; who needs 3 chapters describing how the mc is holding their weapon??
