Infinite Gameplay - Chapter 21
Kite and the gang headed south. They hailed a carriage and finally reach the outer gates. The three of them slowly traveled to their destination. They did converse with each other. Their age was not that far apart after all.
Kite learn a few things from Ansel. He was not blood-related to Severus. His father was his master’s brother in arms. Unfortunately, he died due to a treasure he couldn’t protect. That’s why Severus treated Ansel like his own son. And Ansel’s mother was nowhere to be found after the death of her husband.
But Ansel was a positive kid. He did feel remorse and anger to his parents for leaving him to early, but he didn’t delve into it further. His only goal in his life was to get strong, find his mother and as much as possible, help his uncle Severus.
This was Ansel’s first adventure outside the guild. He never left the villa ever in his life. Because his uncle Severus wanted to protect him at all costs. But he continuously begged his uncle to let him experience all the things in this world. Outside the walls, he wanted to know what is currently happening out there. Finally, his uncle let him do whatever he wanted. But he must prioritize his own safety.
Kite pitied him. Their age was only 1 year apart but Kite’s experience for the past week in the world had already changed his perspective bit by bit. You could do anything you want in this world with strength and power. And if you are weak, then you are destined to be played to death.
Upon thinking about this, sadness covered Kite’s face. All his past ties on Earth were slowly getting torn apart. He doesn’t know why this is happening. If he stayed in this world for too long, who knew what will happen to him.
Vanessa who was beside Kite noticed his change. She held his hand and looked at him lovingly.
“Don’t be sad Kite. You look more handsome when you smile”. Her voice was filled with tenderness and love.
Kite look at her and smiled. Sadly, he couldn’t accept her feelings. He was still holding his past ties on Earth. He couldn’t just forget about his lover that easily. Plus Vanessa only fell in love with due to certain circumstances, he can’t take advantage of her. There are thousands of men more compatible with Vanessa than him in this kingdom.
But he needed some emotional support at least, so he didn’t let go of her hands. Vanessa’s care and warmth helped him elevated his feelings bit by bit.
Ansel saw all of these and smiled. At first, he thought that Vanessa’s love was unrequited. But when he saw Kite reciprocating her actions, he knew he thought to wrong.
“Were almost there”. Unknowingly they already reached the far ends of the southern part of the city. They met a lot of adventurers on the way but as they head forwards, adventurers were now nowhere to be seen. They followed the path depicted on the map so they didn’t encounter any danger so far.
There are tons of mountains here. They headed to a certain mountain that was smaller than the others.
“Here we are”. Other than being the smallest mountain here, nothing notable was in sight. Kite took out the map and raised it near the mountain.
Magically, the map started shining. It got out of Kite’s grasp and floated not far away from the mountain. A system message appeared while this was happening.
| System: Hidden Dungeon discovered!
Welcome to Goblin’s Paradise(Level 5-Level 10)! |
A gap appeared in the middle of the small mountain. A whole new place was seen inside. Patrolling goblins were walking back and forth.
“Let’s go inside!” Vanessa led the way. She has the highest level among the three of them. And monsters in a Level 5-Level 10 dungeons will be a piece of cake for her.
“Can we enter? The system said Level 5-Level 10 Dungeon”, Kite questioned.
“They can be considered as the minimum level to enter the dungeon. You can enter any dungeons you want regardless of the level but you must not be lower than the required level”, Vanessa explained meticulously.
“Understood”, Kite nodded.
Before they can enter the dungeon another message appeared.
| Select Difficulty
*Normal
*Hard
*Hell |
“Let’s start a party first”, Vanessa suddenly spoke.
“Party?”, Kite knew the term party. He was just surprised that this world’s system also possesses this function.
Vanessa sent them an invitation using the system screen.
| Vanessa invited you to join her party. Accept? |
Kite clicked accept so did Ansel. Vanessa shifted the leadership to Ansel, he was the one supposed to clear this dungeon after all.
Ansel picked Normal Difficulty. He still didn’t know what might happen inside. So better pick the lowest difficulty rather than sending yourself to your death. He’ll only rely on himself, Kite and Vanessa were here only to protect him when needed.
They entered the mountain when Ansel picked the difficulty. There was like a thin barrier made of water that separated the real world and the dungeon. The sensation was really weird. It was like entering a pool for a second without getting wet.
| Mountain Goblin
Level 5
HP: 140 |
Goblins immediately surround them after they entered. Vanessa suddenly jumped. Her jump was inhumanely high. She landed to place not far away from the goblins. Kite understand her intentions so he did the same. He flickered and suddenly appeared to Vanessa’s place. His level was now was much higher compared to the past. He added all his free stats points to agility, massively improving his speed and flexibility. He did this because all his skills focus on Damage.
Now Ansel was facing four goblins by himself. He raised his shield up and pointed his short-sword forward. He really looked comical for some reason.
Shield Taunt!
*Shingggg*
His shield started emitting a bright light. The goblins surrounding him were blinded for a second after that they attacked him recklessly.
Horizontal Sweep!
Ansel swept his sword horizontally. All the goblins were knocked off and blood drip from their wounds.
Lounge!
Raising his shield he dashed ahead colliding with all of the goblins and knocking them up. Ansel possessed many skills and techniques. Being rich meant a lot of skill books.
He madly attacked his enemies until no goblins were in sight.
“Nice! Let’s head forward!” Kite lead the group forward.
