Infinity Guardian System - Chapter 44 Awakening!!!
44 Awakening!!!
“GRRRRRHHHHHH…”
A moan of pain escaped Hael’s lips as he felt an intense burning object flare to life just beside his heart. A powerful source of energy rapidly traveled to particular places in his body. With the monumental pain came a new consciousness of what was beneath, or rather, within his body.

WHIRING
It was the sound of machines rapidly turning within his body. The various nanotech present rapidly arranged themselves in an otherworldly order, birthing a cybernetic component capable of pure destruction.
Shock and surprise filled her eyes as Surgeon Jessica watched one of her life’s greatest transfusions become a success. Through his skin, the crimson light of the cybernetics shone brightly out of the glass. She settled her spectacles and properly looked at the pure outline of the cybernetics.
“The Void Breaker… now it makes even more sense,” she said with a smile. In the next instant, the AI notification rang out clearly through the room.
“Congratulations. Cybernetic Transfusion Process has been successfully completed. Full integration will slowly occur in the future based on usage percentages. Congratulations, once more, Surgeon Jessica…”
“Thanks, Miri…” Surgeon Jessica said, but suddenly her eyes turned to the glass where Hael was. She watched as Hael stretched his hand to the glass and then pushed hard.
CRAAACK

CRAAACCCK
Cracks rang through the entire glassy surface, and Surgeon Jessica ordered, “Strengthen the glass covering by—”
SHAAATTTERRR
She had yet to complete the sentence when the glass immediately shattered into pieces, sending shards of glass throughout the entire room. She quickly blocked her face with her hands and her metallic cybernetic arm.
Everything once again settled. She placed down her hands and turned to look at the glass, only to see a fist magnifying towards her face.
BOOOOOOOOM!!!
She was immediately blown away from her feet, traveling five meters in the air before smashing against the metallic CPU at the end of the lab. Sparks of electricity burst out of the technological device.
A smile of anger appeared on Surgeon Jessica’s face as she turned to look at Hael, whose legs were shaking like wool in the wind.
“My body feels strange and is about to collapse. But before it does, I had to at least get a single punch in. You deserve it for almost killing me,” Hael said as his legs finally gave out and he instantly collapsed on the ground. Surgeon Jessica walked towards him.
Turning his gaze to her, she had strangely become four in front of Hael’s eyes. He felt his eyes forcefully closing themselves.
“Also, thank you for the core…”
Those were his last words before he descended into complete unconsciousness.
“How interesting…”
—————————–
The first thing that appeared to him was a pure white color all around him. Hael blinked his eyes repeatedly before they finally regained their focus, and he finally saw a lot more clearly. Right now, he was seeing a ceiling. Turning to the side, he saw a figure resting her head beside the bed he was resting on, her hair splaying around his hands.
“Captain Aelia?” Hael called out. Captain Aelia opened her eyes before sitting upright, and upon seeing Hael opening his eyes, shock bloomed on her face. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
“Hael?” she asked. Hael sat up, or at least tried to, but immediately collapsed back on the bed.
“What the? How am I so heavy?” Hael asked with shock and irritation as Captain Aelia smiled.
“You have been unconscious for four days now!” she said, and Hael’s face dropped.
“Four days? That’s a lot…” he mused, trying to raise his hands up. After 30 seconds of battling against it, he was finally able to raise them up. Once he did that twice, he felt no more weight behind them when he tried to raise them up again.
“Oh? So that’s how it works then?” Hael asked as Captain Aelia firmly shook her head.
“No! You have to activate your core to enable movement for now. Later, your body will naturally adapt to it, and that will be better than your childish way of letting it adapt,” she cautioned. Hael raised his hand to his chest and could feel the silent ripple just beside his heart. Now he could be said to possess two hearts.
“And how do I activate the core?” he asked once more, and Captain Aelia smiled.
“Never let anyone know, Hael. But the way a core is activated is by a cybernetic expert touching his chest with his right or left hand. That is the normal way. The Eldricthes know that. That is why sometimes, a cybernetic expert can be rendered immobile by simply cutting away his two hands. That way, he would have no way of waking up his core.
But there are a few cybernetic components that stray from that path. Forbidden Cybertechs. Yours is one of them. To activate the core requires a different process, and in your case, it is to simply smash your teeth against each other. Simply bite hard!” Captain Aelia said, as Hael’s eyes flashed.
“That’s really abnormal…”
If the regular way was someone touching their chest, then truly chopping their arms off could render one useless. After all, cybernetic fighters’ main source of power comes from their core. That would make the majority of the cybernetic fighters have a common weakness.
But simply biting hard to activate the core would be something no one saw coming or even imagined.
Hael opened his mouth wide before biting hard together. In the next second, a red light rippled outward from his chest as the outline of the cybernetic tech in his body shone out from his skin.
“NNNNGGGGGHH,” a slight groan of pain escaped Hael’s lips due to the sudden intense energy, but it soon quieted down in ten seconds. He opened his eyes once more and, with will, sat up on his butt, his backbone crackling from four days of inactivity.
“The pain due to activation is pretty normal. It will disappear soon enough. Now come…”
Golden Tickets and Power stones are greatly appreciated. Gracias…
