Insectoids: The Job of the Males - Chapter 11
A Draconically Yelling Male

What might Xiao Ji do if his childhood friend turned out to be a male, and a super handsome one at that?
The past Xiao Ji would have gone for it, seizing the advantage of being friends.
But, what if, it really happened?
Xiao Ji is extremely nervous right now, both because Cheng Zhaoci has such a seductive appearance, it’s like learning, one day, that the little underdeveloped little shemale that always followed behind him like a doggy – well, a fiercely barking one, considering Cheng Zhaoci’s personality, but his little fists can’t so much as make him hurt at all – but kuhum, like that little thin shorty that was your lackey and friend, suddenly turned into a handsome and attractive male.
Much more intense than the shock is the feeling of disbelief.
The phrase ‘male insectoid’ really is too far away from Xiao Ji, far away enough that, when Xiao Ji understood that he really was just another piece of insignificant trash at the bottom of the pile in insectoid society, he didn’t even dare fantasise ever seeing a real male in the flesh.
Xiao Ji was picked up off the street, and named by that old shemale in quite the lazy fashion – picked up from the ‘trash,’ ‘ji,’ plus the shemale’s surname, xiao, and the name sounds exactly like the word ‘pessimistic.’ It’s really difficult to call that a good name.
But Xiao Ji has always been pretty optimistic and happy-go-lucky, never thinking twice what he’s doing. He always felt he was pretty lucky, to have two good, reliable brothers on somewhere like a landfill planet – well, Cheng ‘the Shorty’ Zhaoci is pretty much useless in everything, but anyway – they all grew up together, and Xiao Ji feels that he would be able to protect his good, useless friend forever. Forever, until he, like his adopted dad who had a date of expiry lasting 5 years, became old and is no longer able to win in the fight for resources, and die at the hands of younger shemales among piles of trash and rubble.
It’s the final resting place for most shemales and demis on Zhousuo. Not dying to anything else before that is already considered having lived a full life and dying by old age.
Xiao Ji really thought of Cheng Zhaoci as his good younger brother. That’s why he is having trouble accepting that little shorty who needed him to protect him is now a male.
A male, a rare treasure of the Federation. A noble and prideful male who can have countless shemale concubines and slaves.
No way. Cheng Zhaoci is completely different in personality from males.
“Is there some kind of misunderstanding?” He Huaijian is the one who asked. He’s always been pretty smart. Perhaps he has the common arrogance inherent to all smart people, so it always appeared as though he looked down on people with a punchable, ‘I’m unhappy’ face. It hasn’t improved much for sure as he grew up; but coincidentally, it means he looks pretty calm right now.
Well, if you ignore the fact that the cannon he dropped has landed squarely on his foot, but he doesn’t seem to react at all.
“There can be no mistake that Mr Cheng Zhaoci is a male,” both of the teenage shemale are quiet at the answer.
Xiao Ji and He Huaijian are sharing a glance. They don’t know why, either, but normally, they aren’t as friendly together as they are with Cheng Zhaoci individually, but neither would look Cheng Zhaoci in the eye right now.
It’s almost like the label ‘male’ has suddenly dragged Cheng Zhaoci right outside of their little world, their little circle. They don’t know what to do.
“Jianhuai-ge, Xiao Ji,” Cheng Zhaoci suddenly speaks up, “what? You wanna shun me just ’cause I’m male?” His tone is casual, completely ignorant of the two insectoids’ complicated feelings. It’s like another day of casual chat for the three.
It makes them relieved, and Xiao Ji is finally able to find his words again. He ruffles his hair, which almost seems to glow an alcoholic red under the floodlights the military has set up. It’s pretty, “uh, you’re… so you’re a male? You could’ve told us, you know.”
“What? Ugly thing, you really are a male?” The hog-tied Jin Yue chimes in, trying to squiggle his way forward, but Meng Yuele has him completely suppressed, immobile. Jin Yue is staring at Cheng Zhaoci and gritting his teeth, asking, “it can’t be! Impossible! Your user ID is BombInYourPants! Your user ID is…”
“Shut the fuck up!” Cheng Zhaoci shuts him down with a firm yell. His own dad is still here! His dad! Why the hell is the blond suddenly revealing his embarrassing ID without so much as a hint?! What the hell, you insectoids all love to reveal the dark history of others or what?!
The yell was certainly powerful and ear-ringing. At least Jin Yue finds his mind in disarray. He is even shuddering a little looking at Cheng Zhaoci now, “you, you yelled at me?! What the fuck?!” The attitude! You saying that’s a male? A male?! A male that was cussing?! Where is the highfalutin pretentiousness?! You’re saying that’s a male?!?!
Showered under the astonished gazes of Wei Zhuo, Meng Yuele, He Huaijian and his own good shemale dad, Cheng Zhaoci is gripping his fist really tightly. If it wasn’t for the fact that he could rush forth and dish out exactly 0 damage to the damned kidnapper, he would surely give him a good pounding!
Xiao Ji, who already knew Cheng Zhaoci’s ID beforehand, appears relaxed, even. Yes, even though Ci-zai looks like the personification of beauty right now, but he’s still him.
In fact, while He Huaijian and Cheng Jin really are both reeling from the impact of the vulgar user ID, Meng Yuele and Wei Zhuo are also shocked to discover that, hells, it’s the comic artist! What in the blazes is this coincidence? They’ve met the artist in person? And the artist is a male?!
At the same time, compared to the two shemale minors and Cheng Jin, who cared for Cheng Zhaoci as he grew up, the other three insectoids present are still in more shock over Cheng Zhaoci’s personality.
Environment shapes personality, so the erstwhile conclusion is, this male probably went off the rails at some point… in a way shemales will probably like. Who knows how many would be interested in him at the Capital.
After the shock, Wei Zhuo has calmed down, and is analysing just how much coincidence was here between him and the little male. The comic protagonist lookalike, a meeting almost copied verbatim from the comic, and their dads fought together in the army.
Wei Zhuo looks back at Cheng Zhaoci with a gentle gaze. He really is adorable. Not demanding or pompous like other males, and treats shemales with respect and dignity. He and the two shemales share the rarest relationship of friendship. It’s almost unimaginable that such a male exists.
Cheng Zhaoci feels like Wei Zhuo is showering him with a gaze in similarly doting fashion to his dad, making him confused.
Then Wei Zhuo finally makes the decision to move away from this little rundown shack, since Jin Yue still needs to be locked up, and they need to ask Cheng Jin about Cheng Zhaoci’s life on Zhousuo so far in detail. As for Cheng Zhaoci’s late father’s cijun, while the accusations of having murdered two male infants is grave, but after all these years, any possible evidence is likely already gone.
And there is no proof that the shemale is going to take hostile action towards Cheng Zhaoci, so there is nothing they can do.
Cheng Zhaoci thus ends up back home, sitting in a row with Xiao Ji and He Huaijian.
Xiao Ji’s head is lowered so much he looks like he would rather sink beneath the dirt. He hasn’t muttered so much as a sound, completely unlike his normal self. He Huaijian is looking at Cheng Zhaoci’s direction, but his eyes are out of focus.
Cheng Zhaoci clears his throat; both insectoids shake.
Suddenly, Xiao Ji cries out in pain and rags on his hair, “argh! Was I a dumbass or what?!” He can’t help but keep recalling what he’s done to Cheng Zhaoci in the past ever since he tried to accept his male identity.
From pinching his face, to patting him on the head, to ruffling his hair, to pulling his ears. Basically, perfect examples of sexual harassment. Oh right! He also watched indecent comics with Cheng Zhaoci! He freezes up entirely recalling that.
It was a cloudy, windy night. Cheng Zhaoci said it was for ‘study,’ and clicked it open. The comic, oh damn, Xiao Ji still remembers the rush it made him feel and how he was yelling incoherently while his heart thumped everywhere; and all that time, Cheng Zhaoci was studying insectoid biology with a serious face. There wasn’t a tinge of romance in the air at all.
But! He read that kind of stuff with a male! That kind! Just trying to recall the whole thing is making him socially dead.
After the yelling subsides, Cheng Zhaoci speaks once more, “I applied to that officer named Wei Zhuo to take you along with me.”
Xiao Ji and He Huaijian are both looking at him now. Cheng Zhaoci continues, “I’m sorry I didn’t ask about what you thought beforehand.”
“On what grounds?” Asks He Huaijian. He doesn’t mind leaving. Of course he doesn’t. No sane insectoid would choose to stay at a landfill planet over literally anywhere else, but he also doesn’t want the relationship between him and Cheng Zhaoci to become some weird ‘xiongzhu and his concubine’ or ‘xiongzhu and his slave.’
He knows males are higher on the hierarchy than shemales, and knows many shemales live only to find a xiongzhu for themselves, but he can’t adapt to some change like that. It’s probably because, Cheng Zhaoci, his relationship with him, their relationship with him is too close. If something so drastic happened, He Huaijian would feel like he has lost the short, undernourished, hard-on-the-eyes but with a happy smile ‘shemale’ younger brother he had.
“Older brothers. As my older brothers,” says Cheng Zhaoci, chuckling, “because both your dads have passed and who knows where your fathers are, so I think all three of us will end up in the same household registration. The family head will be my dad.”
Three brothers in a family, with three different surnames. That’s a first, surely.
Xiao Ji, who has become entirely quiet since Cheng Zhaoci started to talk, suddenly glowers and shoots up, giving Cheng Zhaoci a big bear hug. All the tight muscles are squeezing the air out of Cheng Zhaoci’s lungs.
“Ci-zai, you just said it! I’m your older brother!” Xiao Ji is exclaiming in joy. He seems really touched, even slapping hard on Cheng Zhaoci’s back. The sound is quite terrifyingly loud.
At least, Cheng Zhaoci swears his organs are about to shoot out of his mouth from the monstrous strength.
“Wait! Get your hands off him! He’s a male! He’s too weak for this!” He Huaijian is yelling, too worried the jumpy Xiao Ji would suffocate Cheng Zhaoci to death if he isn’t stopped in time.
Xiao Ji comes back to his senses and lets Cheng Zhaoci go immediately. Then he blushes – not because he was thinking of something else, but he was feeling the shy after-the-fact, “ehe, I don’t really know how to feel anymore,” but hey, he’s also got a male childhood friend now, cool!
