Inside The Black Mist - Chapter 78 - Mutual Combat
Han Shu didn’t answer Tianyang’s question. This captain, rough in appearance and heart, watched as the dark creatures below devoured each other, his expression becoming increasingly grim.
Tianyang could only continue to focus on the slaughter within the ring of trees. At that moment, he caught a flicker of movement in the corner of his eye. Tianyang quickly turned his head and saw a black shadow darting towards the direction of the tree ring on the open ground outside.
As it passed a bonfire, the flames were blown forward by the airflow, taking a moment to return to normal.
Tianyang saw it.
The Black Prince with flowing long hair, leaned forward almost horizontally with the ground.
Its speed was so fast that Tianyang could barely see its figure.
The long-haired prince was like a black whirlwind, rushing into the team led by a wizard before the other dark creature could even notice.
Suddenly, there was an extra figure in the team; only the wizard, who looked like a hunched old man, noticed slightly. The other mysterious archers, like mad dogs, still focused their attention inside the tree ring.
The long-haired prince pressed both hands on the ground, and two tangled black arcs, like tangled threads, spread along its arms to the ground, affecting most of the team and causing a dozen mad dogs and three mysterious archers to tremble and fall to the ground.
The fallen dark creatures twitched continuously on the ground, apparently being stunned by those black arcs.
The face mask and coronal helmet of the long-haired prince suddenly opened, and a bunch of blood-red tendrils burst out from inside. Each tendril pierced a dark creature, then the tendrils waved, seemingly sucking the blood of its kind.
The dark creatures on the ground shrank visibly, eventually turning into skeletons.
At this time, the slaughter in the tree ring stopped, and the other two black princes seemed to have noticed the unwelcome guest.
After the long-haired prince had finished his meal, he retracted his tendrils, closed his mouthpiece, and slowly stood up.
Two wizards came to its front, their hunched bodies bending even lower, one hand pressed against their chests, the other pointing towards the tree ring.
The long-haired prince nodded lightly and walked towards the tree ring with light steps.
In the tree ring, the wanderers were almost dead, and the two black princes no longer fed. One on the left and one on the right, although their faces had no visible eyes, they seemed to be watching the newcomer vigilantly.
The long-haired prince finally stepped into the tree ring, forming an equilateral triangle with the other two princes.
The two wizards uttered a series of urgent, hoarse words, and the three princes all faced the high-backed rock throne, nodding slightly.
Then, they resumed their original confrontation.
Arcs flickered on the long-haired prince’s hands, and the arcs gathered into a pitch-black spear.
The giant prince on the left raised his hands high and roared, and suddenly a black thunderbolt struck down from the sky of the inverse boundary. When it reached above its head, it split into two currents of electricity, entwining around the iron chains on its arms.
When the burly prince lowered his arms, the ends of the two iron chains each had a human-sized, erratic black electric ball.
The remaining fat prince opened its mouthpiece on its belly again, spewing out streaks of darting black electric light.
A ferocious smile appeared on the fat prince’s face as it spread its hands, catching these electric lights.
The electric lights immediately retracted into its palms, forming two pitch-black, electrically-formed machetes.
The three princes each wielded their weapons and walked slowly.
Suddenly, the long-haired prince turned into a blurry black shadow, accompanied by a violent sound of breaking through the air, gripping the black electric spear, and charging towards the giant-like black prince.
The giant prince roared, raising his hand, and when he swung it down again, an iron chain with a black electric ball attached to it smashed towards his opponent.
Before the iron chain could fall, the long-haired prince simultaneously exerted force with his waist and feet, twisting almost to the point of distortion. Then, without slowing down, he changed direction and rushed towards the fat prince.
The fat prince screamed and leaped up, swinging down with the black electric machete in his hand, clashing with the myriad electric sparks from the long-haired prince’s spear.
Midair, the fat prince suddenly looked up, only to see another prince swinging an iron chain, pulling the black electric ball horizontally to strike.
The fat prince flicked his machete with his left hand, clumsily spinning in midair before landing on the ground.
With his toes touching the ground, he almost shot forward along the ground, the two machetes intersecting and slashing towards the long-haired prince’s feet.
The long-haired prince stabbed the spear into the ground and then violently pulled it up, swinging a full arc, lifting the fat prince off the ground.
Then, gripping the spear and turning, he thrust backward with his left hand, hitting the electric ball thrown by the giant.
And so, the three princes engaged in a melee within the tree ring, the collision of energy weapons forming storms, dragging in the wanderers who hadn’t had time to leave the tree ring, then distorting and tearing them into pieces!
Tianyang unconsciously clenched his fists, the image of the three black princes fighting each other still occupying his mind.
What are they doing?
As this question arose, the image of the high-backed rock throne naturally appeared in the young man’s mind. Plus, all three princes bowed their heads towards the throne. Suddenly, Tianyang seized upon an inspiration.
Are they vying for the throne?
But what’s so worth fighting for on a stone throne?
Then the young man remembered the diamond-shaped pattern carved by the wizard on the high back of the throne.
Unless the throne has some symbolic significance, for example, sitting on it made one the king of the dark creatures.
Tianyang stopped.
Cang Du behind him almost bumped into him, complaining, “Why did you suddenly stop? Hurry up, we have to run; are you crazy!”
Tianyang quickly caught up, his heart pounding.
Leaving the building, the team passed by a pile of rocks, and as they were about to cross a depression, in front of them, Ji Yu suddenly paused, then retreated violently, almost crashing into Han Shu’s arms.
At the same time, a black and red beam of light crossed through space, landing where Ji Yu had just been.
Han Shu took a sharp breath. “Mysterious Archer? Damn it, we’ve been discovered! Run! Run fast!”
Sure enough, on a car wreck in the distance, there was a goat-faced figure. The mysterious archer, who had the last laugh, opened its mouth and let out a sharp cry, hovering in the sky like an alarm.
The two wizards outside the tree ring immediately shouted and sent out all the mad dogs and archers around them, but they seemed to be more focused on the duel between the three princes inside the tree ring and didn’t follow.
However, one of the wizards took out a flower from under the cloak. Similar to the human-faced flowers on the tree wall, it was very delicate, yet the face on the flower bud was even more eerie.
The face patterns of the other human-faced flowers were expressionless, only remaining indifferent.
But the flower in the wizard’s hand—the pattern on the flower bud—was actually a smiling face with an open mouth.
The wizard shook the flower, and the petals flew off. From the smiling face on the flower bud, a scalp-tingling laughter echoed.
Hahaha…
The laughter spread through the air, when the sound reached the tree wall, all the black short hairs on the roots retracted, and in no time, they all disappeared into the roots.
Nearby, on a human-faced flower, two strands of silk quietly turned black from the roots.
So it looked like there were two extra eyeballs on the otherwise expressionless face!
