Inside The Black Mist - Chapter 89 - Yunxiang Base
Tianyang looked down at the woman who had thrown herself into his arms. She seemed a bit older than him, but not yet twenty. This was evident from the condition of her skin, which, despite its wheat color, was as smooth as silk.
Especially those legs extending from her shorts—her thighs were delicate, undoubtedly feeling nice to the touch.
The girl wore a short leather jacket with a very low neckline, revealing a significant part of her ample chest.
On the left side of her chest, there was an emblem depicting a longbow with an eye between the bow and string, looking sharp.
Below the emblem was the number: 1.
Evidently, this woman who came onto him was a Rank 1 Hunter in the Hunter class.
Unexpectedly, this carriage had two Ascendants among the prospectors, indicating their team’s formidable combat capability.
“Do you like what you see?” The girl, with her purple-gray makeup, blinked her eyes and even pulled her already low neckline lower. “If you want to see more, we can go to another carriage.”
“Thank you for your offer, but I’d like to rest for a while. Could you please get up?” Tianyang wore a perfectly timed smile.
The girl snorted through her nose, suddenly clinging tightly to Tianyang and crying out coquettishly, “What are you doing? Let go of me!”
Tianyang didn’t immediately react.
What was this act?
Then a hand reached over, lifting the girl off Tianyang as if she were a chick.
Tianyang looked up to find a man standing beside his seat. He was thin, almost skeletal, with a few sharp teeth from some creature as earrings on his left ear and lips painted purple-gray like the girl’s.
On the back of his right hand was an emblem resembling a magic circle with the number 1 in the center.
He was a Rank 1 Magician in the Elemental Heart class.
“Hey, kid, what were you trying to do to my sister?!” The man, who claimed to be the girl’s brother, shouted. “Don’t think you can do whatever you want just because you’re a Night Walker. Now, I want you to apologize to my sister. Hmm, I see you have a nice knife. If you give it to us as a gift, I might consider forgiving you on her behalf.”
Tianyang looked at him as if he were an idiot. Now the boy understood; this brother-sister pair was clearly trying to extort him.
This was interesting. Someone actually dared to target a Night Walker. Did he really look that easy to bully?
Tianyang smiled, gently lifted his Crimson Moon Warblade, and slightly extended it forward. “You want it? Go ahead, take it.”
The man was stunned; he hadn’t expected Tianyang to be so agreeable. He swallowed and reached for the Crimson Moon Warblade.
Tianyang’s smile widened.
Just as the man’s hand was about to touch the scabbard, a loud shout suddenly erupted, “Take your filthy hand off!”
It was the bald, burly man with the fist shield by his feet. He stood up, his bald head nearly touching the carriage ceiling.
The burly man turned around, eyes filled with anger, staring at the other man. “Wild Wolf, one day, your greed will be the death of you. Do you think you can touch a Night Walker’s equipment? Don’t cause me any trouble!”
Wild Wolf must be the man’s nickname. He snorted, “Gu Gang, my sister and I are just hired by you, not your subordinates. Don’t you dare try to boss me around!”
The burly man named Gu Gang sneered, “You’re right, I’m just your employer. But if you mess up my plans, I’ll cripple you, got it?”
Wild Wolf wanted to say something, but the girl quickly pulled him back and apologized to Gu Gang, “Mr. Gu Gang, please don’t be angry. We were just joking with the Night Walker.”
“Get lost!” Gu Gang barked. “Don’t think you can use your prospector tricks on a Night Walker without making a fool of yourselves.”
Wild Wolf growled low in his throat, his eyes red. Finally, he snorted, grabbed his sister, and left.
Gu Gang then turned to Tianyang, “Sorry to bother you, sir. These two troublemakers caused you trouble.”
Tianyang twirled his battle knife and returned it to its place, smiling, “No problem. In fact, I should thank you for helping out.”
Gu Gang’s eyes flashed with surprise, then he laughed heartily. “I should be the one saying thank you. We won’t disturb your rest any longer.”
He picked up his fist shield, signaled to the other prospectors, and they all left the carriage.
As they exited, one of Gu Gang’s men muttered, “Boss, you helped him out. Why did you thank him?”
Gu Gang slapped the back of his head so hard that it almost sent him flying. “You don’t get it. If I hadn’t stopped him, Wild Wolf would have lost his hand. The Night Walker didn’t need my help to deal with them, got it?”
“Besides, it was Wild Wolf and his sister who tried to pull a fast one. The Night Walker didn’t pursue it, which saved us a lot of trouble on our way to Yunxiang Base. That’s why I thanked him!”
The underling rubbed his head and said, “I see.”
Gu Gang snorted, “Those Wild Wolf siblings are real trouble. If I didn’t need extra hands, I wouldn’t have hired them. Keep an eye on them, and don’t let them cause any more problems.”
A few prospectors repeatedly agreed.
Seven hours later, the high-speed train arrived at its station, and Tianyang finally reached Yunxiang Base.
This base was located in the mountains, with its facilities hidden among dense vegetation. However, the forests in the Nether Realm were far from pleasant, with numerous trees and twisted plants effectively blocking the paths of many dark creatures.
To allow the high-speed train to reach this base, several mountain ranges had been tunneled through, creating passages for the train tracks.
Compared to the Lighthouse Base, Yunxiang Base’s facilities were undoubtedly much older. If it weren’t for the nearby Nether Realm mines still being exploited, Tianyang doubted whether this base would continue to exist.
The vigorous life force of the Nether Realm’s plants caused tree roots and vines to appear in the corridors and building crevices within the base. Therefore, the base’s soldiers had to take on an additional task, periodically clearing these plants.
This was one of the unique sights at Yunxiang Base.
After getting off the train, Tianyang headed straight for the Night Walkers’ command center in the base and met the Yunxiang Base Night Walker commander.
Ling Feng had already informed him that Yunxiang’s commander was Shen Mozhu, an old subordinate of Commander Zhu Yan. Tianyang was advised to be respectful when meeting him.
When a base officer led Tianyang to the command center, the young man almost thought he had entered the wrong place.
The command center’s office was filled with potted plants, and the ceiling was nearly covered with vines. It looked more like a greenhouse than a command center!
Someone was watering the plants. Tianyang cleared his throat, stood straight, and loudly announced, “Night Walker Tianyang, reporting to the commander!”
The person seemed startled by Tianyang, causing his hand to shake and water to pour all over a potted plant. He held his head and wailed, “Oh no, my carefully transplanted Xingzhu grass!”
Tianyang’s heart skipped a beat.
The person then turned around, revealing a middle-aged man in his early fifties with soft hair and a gentle appearance. He also wore glasses but lacked Ling Feng’s aloof demeanor, instead wearing a wry smile.
“You young people are always so energetic. Hmm, you look…”
