Into the Zombie World - Chapter 254: Interesting!
“That’s so gay, you want me to drop you to the ground right now?” Burge said threateningly.
Hearing his response, Damian could only scoff at him to hide his embarrassment.
“Relax, relax… I was just kidding. And besides… no one heard it…” Damian said with a reassuring smile. However, he suddenly saw Burge turning his head to the side, and when he followed his action, what he saw was Burnok eyeing them with a disgusted look.
“He just got there!” Damian hurriedly said to save face.
However, Burge and Burnok no longer listened to him as they made their way to the Pink Surge Faction base.
…
Meanwhile, at the other side of the town.
Jellan had already killed a bunch of Level One zombies as she searched for the animals’ location. Even though she no longer has use for it, she still collected the Level One zombie’s Apocalypse Virus as she planned on using them to awaken the children she left in the ancient house.
She strictly followed the trail left behind by the animals and she thought that she was now getting nearer to their location.
After a few minutes, she finally arrived on a huge tree where the trails led her to. However, she glanced around and realized that the animals were no longer there. They already left.
She felt worried as the one hour mark she set was already fast approaching. Just as she was about to turn around and leave, she suddenly noticed a particular spot that was quite different than the rest.
She approached that spot and touched the area that was a little moist. It was still warm to the touch, and she noticed another trail base on that moist soil.
She did not waste her time as she immediately followed the trail left behind by the animals.
After following the trail, she noticed that the place kept on getting more and more familiar. Finally, she arrived again at the place where the battle had taken place yesterday.
She was confused at first but soon, she guessed that the animals might have returned her to search for Nile. She felt happy as she realized that they really cared for him.
A smile surfaced on her face as she slowly walked ahead to search for them. However, her smile later faded as she felt that something was amiss.
Her intuition told her that there was danger but no matter where she turned her head, she just could not grasp where the danger was.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
Suddenly, Jellan’s ears twitched as she heard a cracking sound beside her.
Boom!
The wall of the wooden house beside her suddenly collapsed, and what followed it was a huge gaping mouth that could easily fit her whole body.
Her pupils constricted as she immediately drew out the swords on her waist. She stepped to the side and was able to successfully evade the gaping mouth with a slight margin.
Just as she was about to counterattack, she suddenly heard a bunch of hurried and heavy footsteps behind her. She did not act carelessly and instead of attacking the first attacker, she instead used it as a platform to raise herself up in the air to dodge the incoming attack from her back.
Boom!
The gaping mouth as well as the source of the heavy footsteps smashed each other as they did not expect that she would be able to dodge them using that method.
Jellan smiled and as she slowly descended to the ground, she suddenly heard a screech from above, and before she knew it, a huge bird had already arrived in front of her.
Boom!
The bird used its sharp talon to attack her but fortunately, Jellan managed to block it in time using her two swords. Unfortunately, the blade of one of her swords broke into pieces as it received the full brunt of the bird’s attack.
Her body was thrown away in the process as the force exhibited by the bird was not something that could be underestimated.
Boom!
Her body hit one of the houses, breaking some walls in the process.
Jellan immediately stood up as she noticed that the three attackers had already started their second phase of attack towards her.
Unsurprisingly, there was no visible wound around her body even though she just crashed into some walls earlier. A Level Two Human was indeed a Level Two human for a reason.
Jellan tilted her head and patted the dust off her clothes. However, instead of feeling angry, Jellan instead felt amused by the situation.
She was searching for them and yet here they are, attacking her without any reason.
“Interesting!” She commented as she produced a not-so-friendly smile.
She then discarded the broken sword as she settled and waves the remaining one in the air, cleaving some walls in the process.
Swoosh!
She dashed forward fully exhibiting the speed of a Peak Level Two human. From her speed alone, she was indeed worthy to be deemed as the leader of the Blue Wave Faction.
In fact, if Nile did not have the Instant Adapter talent which helps him to adapt to any environment, hence boosting his speed, he would surely lose a race against her.
She dashed forward and did not wait for the three attackers to approach her.
One Carabao, one Crocodile and one Eagle speed up towards her.
Swoosh!
The carabao was the first to arrive, as the other two purposely slowed down to let the carabao cover for them.
They knew their opponent this time was strong, they wanted to make the carabao their guinea pig. To test the waters.
The carabao, Maximo did not waste the opportunity given to him. He thought that the other two saw him as a leader, hence making him the vanguard of the party. He did not want to waste the trust they’ve given him, so the moment he arrived in front of the woman, he immediately attacked her with his sharp and perfectly curved horn.
However, what happened next was not something the three animals expected.
