Into the Zombie World - Chapter 256: Uneducated Fools
Maximo looked at his rivals as if he was looking down on them for not recognizing their new companion. He shook his head as he slowly walked away from them, almost like he was disappointed by their actions.
However, Jellan tapped his shoulder even before he could take his third step. She then raised her hand in front of her face, letting Ogis and Croco take a look at the Earring’s of Loyalty on her ring finger.
The two’s eyes immediately widened after seeing that ring. They immediately felt resonance, almost like they also have something like that.
They immediately stood up from the ground and became lively again. They then acted as if nothing had happened as they went to Maximo’s side, walking calmly like they had never participated in a fight earlier.
Jellan shook her head seeing their actions. She wondered where they got their shameless attitude from. Nile was never like that.
“Oh, before we go, do you guys perhaps know of some mutated fruits or anything that can help treat an infection? It might have been infected due to the venom of a hybrid or might be because of the dirty environment, anyways as long as it can cure the infection, anything will do…” Jellan said, recalling the other reason why she was here.
The three mutated animals tilted their heads to the side in confusion. Although they may have understood a fraction of what she said, it was clearly not enough for them to fully comprehend what she said.
Jellan repeated what she said earlier but slower when she saw their confused expressions.
The first one to comprehend what she said was Croco, his mouth opened and his eyes bulged for a second, as if a light bulb was lit inside his head.
He then raised his front foot and released his sharp nails. He pointed it to the ground before he started scribbling something on it.
The others’ interests were piqued by his actions. They moved closer to him as they observed what he’s going to do next.
After a full minute, Croco nodded his head in satisfaction while staring at the masterpiece he just made. He retracted his sharp nail before he turned his head towards the other three. He then made a presenting motion while pointing at the ground where he scribbled something.
“What is that, a worm?” Jellan said looking at the wriggling lines that Croco was so proud of.
Even Maximo and Ogis were kind of confused about what he was trying to let them see.
Croco looked at them as if they were a bunch of retards and uneducated fools.
Wasn’t his drawing a masterpiece? For god’s sake it was a drawing of his favorite food, innards or more precisely, intestines. How can they not recognize it at first glance?
Croco nodded his head a while later as he looked at them with pity in his eyes. He thought that they weren’t just as smart as he is, for them to not recognize his masterpiece.
Anyways, Croco felt that he should explain it to them, he doesn’t want them to stay ignorant about it after all.
He closed his eyes and started explaining what he drew by making actions around the air. Pointing at his stomach, making slicing motions, pointing at his mouth, making his mouth water, nodding his head repeatedly and a bunch of different actions just to let them understand what he drew earlier and how delicious it was.
Jellan kind of got what he was trying to say after that action explanation. However, she shook her head as it was not the one she needed to treat Nalyn’s infected wounds.
As if a bulb was also lit inside his head, Maximo also started drawing something in the ground.
A while later, a circle like fruit was painted in the ground for the others to see. Beside it was another fruit that looks like a berry. He presented it to them and just like what Croco did, he also explained the fruit and it’s functions as well as how delicious they were. Maximo’s mouth even started to water while recalling those tasty coconuts that his owner Nile had provided to him before.
“Are they fruits that can treat an infected wound?” Jellan asked curiously. She wanted to confirm it first before thinking about searching for one.
Hearing what she said, Maximo tilted his head to the side a second before shaking it left and right. He doesn’t know if the fruits he mentioned have the same effect just like what Jellan wanted.
“I see… How about you, little birdie, do you know a fruit that has those kinds of functions or effects?” She said while turning towards Ogis who was silently looking at their actions ever since earlier.
Just as Ogis was about to answer, Croco and Maximo actually interrupted him at the last second.
Maximo and Croco growled at the same time as if they recalled something important at the same time. The two looked at each other and upon seeing the glint on each of their eyes, they instantly knew that what they recalled was actually the same as well.
A competitive glint rose in both of their eyes as they raced on who could relay the information to Jellan first.
Croco immediately drew his sharp claws out as he started drawing another masterpiece in the ground. Maximo also did not waste his time as he also started doing the same thing as Croco, although what he used was not sharp claws but instead the tip of his hooves.
A while later the two of them finished their piece.
Jellan and Ogis looked over as if they were the judge of a competition.
As expected, Maximo’s drawing was actually a lot better than Croco’s. Jellan and Ogis then fixated their attention towards Maximo, as if waiting for him to explain what it was.
Croco frowned and shook his head. He was disappointed by their blurry eyes, it was clear as day that he won, why are they trying to side with Maximo?
Maximo nodded his head as he finally started explaining his drawing.
