Into the Zombie World - Chapter 257: Leave it To Me!
Seeing that he won the duel, Maximo no longer wasted his time as he immediately ‘explained’ what he had scribbled.
A few moments later, Jellan was finally able to understand what Maximo was trying to show her.
It turns out he was actually referring to a lollipop.
At first, Jellan was confused. Have lollipops also evolved along with the plants and trees, and they now have healing properties?
However, she suddenly recalled the lollipop that Nile offered to her before. ‘I see, the System’s lollipop.’
Jellan could only shake her head after recalling that piece of information.
After being bound to Nile by the System, she also naturally came to know of its existence. However, it might be because of the System’s powers but she somehow did not question its existence.
She even thought that her love and devotion to Nile had further been strengthened due to the existence of the Earrings of Loyalty. She felt that they were already married or were about to get married.
She blushed thinking about it now.
However, she shook her head again as there was something more important that she needed to handle. Nalyn’s medicine.
She thought that by searching for Nile’s pet, they would also know a medicine plant for Nalyn to use. However, not only were they clueless, they were even only suggesting completely useless things.
“Nile’s lollipop is out of option, he’s currently undergoing his evolution so we could not disturb him. It looks like we can only wait for him to finish his evolution, huh…”
Shriek!
However, Ogis seems to have something in mind.
He looked at them as he gestured at himself, almost like he was saying, “Leave it to me!”
Croco and Maximo looked at each and then towards Ogis suspiciously, they don’t believe that he knew something like that even the slightest.
Jellan was curious what he had in mind so she immediately gestured for him to draw it in the ground so he could share it to them just like what Croco and Maximo did earlier.
However, Ogis just merely shook his head as he beckoned his now healed wings for them to follow him.
After seeing Jellan’s confirmation, Maximo and Croco finally followed behind Ogis.
Ogis flew above and would occasionally land on the branches to rest. He was not fully healed yet and he doesn’t want to get injured again.
Their journey was uneventful as Ogis finally stopped and landed at a branch of a huge tree.
He shrieked and pointed his wings towards a place, or more precisely, a group of small trees densely packed together.
Jellan and the others looked at where he was pointing and there, over a dozen small trees were present, each of them having multiple pink fruits hanging on their branches.
“Makopa? No, those pink colored fruits are Tambi or Java Apple…” Jellan stated after seeing the fruit.
Ogis went down and explained to them what it was, of course, he didn’t know how to draw and instead of embarrassing himself just like Croco, he chose to explain it with gestures and multiple shrieking sounds in the most bird-like way possible.
It took Jellan a while to fully understand what he was saying along with Maximo and Croco’s assistance.
Based on what he said, he originally came here before he was saved by Nile and the others from that zombie. He said that he was pursuing that beautiful female eagle around this area to no avail.
While he was pursuing that ‘eagle chick’ he got into a fight with a zombie around here. He was wounded and then later that night, a hybrid came and supposedly wanted to kill him as well, he managed to escape but with wounds.
Ogis gestured that the wound was very itchy and it was uncomfortable for him. And when he went back to her to continue searching for that ‘eagle chick’ he got hungry and decided to eat the fruits forcefully just to satiate his hunger, and with that, the itchiness disappeared and his wounds got even healed slightly at the same time after a few hours.
Jellan was kind of doubtful about his story, for god’s sake, eagle’s are carnivores, how can he eat fruits?
However, she calmed down a while later as he blamed it on the changes of the world. She told herself to expect herbivore animals eating meat from now on.
Maximo looked at Jellan strangely, somehow, he felt that Jellan was thinking about him.
“If what you said is true, then let’s not waste any more time and get some Java Apples for Nalyn,” she said while gesturing to Maximo to go forward.
However, Ogis suddenly flew in front of them as he spread his wings, blocking their way.
Jellan was confused by his sudden action.
‘You’re the one who told us about this place and now you’re also the one that is blocking our way?’
Jellan glared at Ogis, waiting for him to explain what he was doing.
Seeing Jellan’s gaze, Ogis felt scared so he immediately explained the reason for his actions.
After another couple of minutes, Jellan nodded her head in appreciation. It turns out that Ogis was only thinking about their welfare.
He said that the last time he was here, there were a dozen or so zombies lingering around the area. They are organized, almost like they have a leader. Ogis said that they should be careful and before they try to get some fruits, they should scout the area first.
Ogis also emphasized that if they saw the eagle chick, they should try and ‘save’ her. He thought that she was still around this area, and she was only confined or is unable to escape at the moment.
“Alright! You crocodile, go and scout the area, you seem to be the sneaky type, you’re perfect for the job!”
“You also help birdie, just probe the area and tell us if there are still zombies around and their positions, got it?”
Jellan did not waste any time as she ordered them to scout the area.
The two immediately heeded her orders and after a few minutes, they returned one by one.
