Inverse System - Chapter 94
“Dear Raxo Tincer and Saphrilla Xilris,
We are happy to inform you that your invention has been accepted for the gadget fair in Naji! Please come to the city tomorrow, at 12 PM to attend the celebration and the award show. You may bring up to 3 escorts through the Ranger guild, and we will provide advance payment for them!
We hope to see you there!”
The message said, to which Saphrilla’s eyes lit up with joy.
“Really?!” She exclaimed as she stood up from her seat in excitement, her eyes glittering with happiness.
“Wow! That’s amazing Saphy! You can finally do what you’ve been wanting to do!” Emria gushed with her, to which she nodded happily.
“And we can bring up to 3 escorts through a specific request with the guild. Don’t D class students only get 1 commission per week? Maybe specific requests can bypass the system,” Raxo proposed, which got Rein thinking.
“Yeah, I think you’re right… We can only do 1 commission per week, but we can do an infinite number of local requests for the town. Since you two are civilians as well, it would most likely count as one of those,” Rein thought out loud, which caused Xenia to insist on coming.
“Let me come! Let me come! Let me come!” She yelled as Raxo nodded in affirmation, already wanting her to come.
“You’re comin’ too Quint. This is to repay me for that battle axe I made for you,” Raxo asserted, to which Quint reacted with a confused face.
“Huh?? I thought you said I didn’t hafta pay you back! You’re goin’ back on your word!” He contended.
“What?! Weren’t you just stressing about not being able to thank me enough?! Well, you can thank me with this. If ya don’t then it’s you who’s going back on your word!” She retorted, making him finally give in to the request.
As Rein watched them fighting, he felt a tug on his sleeve, looking down to see Saphrilla holding his shirt.
“You’ll come too, right?” She asked, to which Rein laughed.
“Of course I will,” he patted her head, making her light up in enthusiasm.
“Thank you, Rien! I’ve got to tell father as well,” she ran away in excitement and back to her room, using the communication device she set up with Voron to tell him about what had just happened.
“Well shit! It’s tomorrow at 12 they said! We’d better get goin’ right now then! Naji is on the other side of the continent! Even if we use the teleporter to Zacrozir, it’ll still take us 6 hours to get there! No way we’re making it on time if we go tomorrow!” Raxo realized as Saphrilla came running out of her room, with a backpack packed full of supplies.
“I am ready to depart at any moment,” she stated, her excitement still present, but her composure regained.
“Tch, guess I’m gonna have to sleep on the ride there. Damn, sleepin’ on a wood floor of a bumpy carriage isn’t gonna be so fun…” Quint dejectedly spoke as Xenia laughed.
“No need to worry about that silly brother! Did you forget there was a guild branch in Zacrozir? And with all of this money I made, I can easily rent out a luxury carriage. Yes, I know, shower me with praise!” She arrogantly laughed as Quint remembered the guild branch in Zacrozir.
“Oh right. Guess it won’t be that bad after all. Well, let’s get going then,” he brushed the thought off as he and Raxo walked out of the room, followed by an angry Xenia.
“Have fun guys! Chloe and I will hold down the fort while you’re gone!” Emria asserted.
“Will you two be okay by yourselves?” Rein made sure before he departed.
“We’ll be fine. You take care of Saphirlla while you’re out there, okay?” Chloe reassured.
“Of course. You’ve got my gua’rein’tee,” he joked as the two walked out of the room and followed the rest of the group to the quest center on campus.
Raxo showed them the invitation sent to her by the Echo company and registered a request to take Rein Xilris, Xenia Vossen, and Quint Vossen as ranger escorts.
Their request was approved, and they were given permission to leave the city. Wary of what occurred outside the town earlier in the day, Rein worried that something may happen in the city of Zacrozir as they arrived, however, his worries were unwarranted as they arrived safely.

They made their way out from the alleyway that held the teleporter and into the bustling city, separated by a large river in between, that raged through the area, adding noise to the already noisy city. Xenia led them to the guild branch, across the bridge and north of the city, where they greeted the receptionist.
“Hey, old lady! Long time no see!” Xenia and the group entered the building, seeing an old woman at the counter, simply jubilant to see Xenia.
“Is that you Xenia?! Oh my goodness… They really cured you…” The woman had tears welling up in her eyes as she stared at Xenia.
After a bit of catching up, the woman dried her tears and got back to her station.
“The guild has a special transportation system, right? Can we use ranger credits to purchase their services?” She asked, to which the old lady nodded.
“Yes, we’re in partnership with the Tigris foundation in Kindus. The vast city in the Savannah’s of the mid-ex-Econica region lies the headquarters of the most prosperous transportation company in the continent, who use specially bred tigers for transportation business. Every guild branch has a teleporter that leads from there to here, and whenever a request is made, they call over the carriage through the teleporter. Here are the prices to rent them out for a day. Note, they can be very expensive,” the old lady explained as she handed a piece of paper over to the group.

The group gazed upon luxurious carriage prices, their eyes twitching at the incredibly high numbers.
“Ahaha… So who said they were gonna pay again..?” Xenia desperately laughed as she looked around at the group, who was looking at her with a blank face.
“Argh! Fine! We’ll take an 8 person luxurious carriage! Rgghh, that’s like a third of my rol…” She cried as the rest of the group laughed at her misfortune.
