Is It Wrong To Try A New Start In Another World With A Dungeon - Chapter 30
After eating… no, let me correct myself.
After devouring a total of 6 pizzas, we went out in the garden to relax a bit on Haru request.
Shiva: But, really… after all that, being under the night observing the stars with this fresh wind… I have to admit that is really relaxing…
Jean: I totally agree… after that binge, relaxing here it’s making me doze.
And my look went towards the only person that hasn’t talked…
Haruhime: …
I saw her looking up with a somewhat sad smile and a nostalgic expression… before returning to a happy one.
Haruhime: Ehi Jean…
Jean: Yes?
Haruhime: What do you know about the moon and the stars?
I knew a few stars and constellation in my original world, and a lot about the moon… but now that’s practically useless…
Jean: Actually… I don’t know anything…
Haruhime: Nothing? Want me to teach you something?
Jean: Sure.
Haruhime: You see the most luminous star at the moon’s left? That’s Virga, the star of the purity.
Haruhime: Now see the one that seems a little dot between the two more luminous ones? That’s Ultima, the star of courage. It was named so because it’s still visible between two ones that seem to ‘cover’ and making it disappear.
And so, the discussion continued with our ‘teacher’ Haru, and the ‘students’ Shiva and me… and it also seems that Shiva has a bit of knowledge about the argument… obviously not in the same level as her, but quite praiseworthy.
And so, we continued for quite a bit…
Haruhime: It seems that I was not so interesting.
Jean: Nono, I think that it’s actually the atmosphere that’s it’s too much light in out relaxing time.
In a really happy tone, we exchanged those lines looking towards our lovely sleeping goddess.
Haruhime: Really? I think that maybe that was boorish.*chukle*
Jean: Nono, I’m sure that she worked so hard today that the fatigue hit her.*chukle*
A happy mood was between us thanks to the one that is not only sleeping but is really in deep slumber.
After that, Haru expression returned to the sad one looking up from before.
Haruhime: Ehi Jean…
Jean: Yes?
Haruhime: Do you know about the tale of the fox princess?
And so, she started to tell me the story.
—————————————————————————————————————
A long, long time ago, there was a renard princess in a royal family of a really beautiful kingdom.
She was the last born and was loved by her parents, brothers, and sisters.
The people were happy, and so she was.
But one day, a necromancer was discovered.
He was utilizing the corpse of animal and people to spread terror in villages and towns.
The royal family made a great effort to remove the menace and protect the citizens.
And so, he was captured and sentenced to the gallows.
But in his death, he cast a curse.
‘For the foolish ones that thought to stop me. I will cast this curse to you!’
‘The most important one that you think, I’ll make sure to remove him from your life and make him suffer!’
The next week was normal for them, so they thought that there were only empty words.
But, after half a month, the little princess was transformed into a fox.
She was really scared but was sure that it was possible to explain the situation to her family.
But when she was walking, a guard saw her and attacked her.
She was scared but thought that talking would resolve the situation.
‘Kon Kon’ She realized that she couldn’t talk.
She hastily runs towards the exit and escaped from the castle and the city.
She began to wonder, scared to the soldiers might attack her, that might not be able to return to her family.
And so, in front of a lake began to pray to the moon.
‘Please, anyone, save me!’
The next day discovered that more soldiers came in search of a fox that kidnapped the princess.
She concealed in the hollow of a trunk and at night…
‘Please, anyone, save me!’
She prayed another time.
The next day, a soldier spotted her and alerted the others.
She started to run without a destination…
Run, run, run… until she was exhausted in the same spot of the first day…
And so for the last time, she prayed…
‘Please… anyone…. save… me…’
She was exhausted…
And thought that the moon reflected in the surface of the lake was really beautiful, creating a mystical atmosphere…
And, she heard…
Footstep from behind…
She was convinced that tonight was the last one in her life…
But unexpectedly, the moon and her reflection started to shine…
She closed her eyes, and the footstep halted…
And she heard…
‘Are you alright?’
She looked behind and saw a handsome youth with a worried expression.
He moved his hand towards her forehead, and another shine blinded her…
The next time opened her eyes… She was in her human form!
She thanked the hero and returned to the kingdom.
The family was really happy with her return and accepted the proposal of the hero to the princess.
They married the next day and from that day onward…
She never stopped praying to the moon…
—————————————————————————————————————
Jean: A really beautiful tale…
Haruhime: …Yeah…
…
Haruhime: That tale… My mother told me that tale when I was a child…
Haruhime: …
She put a thoughtful expression before talking to me another time…
Haruhime: Ehi Jean…
Jean: Yes?
Haruhime: Do you think this is a fairy tale? Do you think the moon can really grant a wish?
Jean: …
Haruhime: I don’t know how, but I’m sure you know a lot about me…
Haruhime: I lived a lonely life… and when you ‘bought’ me, I was probably two-step before the abyss…
Haruhime: Everyday in my life… I looked toward the moon and prayed…
Haruhime: ‘Please, anyone, save me…’
I moved towards her and cuddled her…
Haruhime: Can I make a request?
Jean: …Anywhat you want.
Haruhime: Can we… sleep here tonight?
Jean: Sure, but let’s take a blanket.
And so, I purchased big bedding with a blanket and I placed Shiva here.
We were a total of three people in bedding in the open air…
I was at the center, with an already sleeping goddess at my left, and a sleepy blonde renard at my right.
I embraced Haru and she exchanged…
And with a sleepy voice…
Haruhime: Jean… It doesn’t matter… if the world… is against you…
Haruhime: You’ll be… forever… my one and only… hero…
Jean: …Yes, my princess…
And so, we entered a deep slumber.
