Isabel The Lightning Princess - Chapter 34 Another Dream
*Isabel’s POV*
The ringing continued, but this time it was not as head aching as it was a minute ago. Slowly I opened my eyes, but what greeted me was a sight I wasn’t prepared for.
I was prepared to see the guardians, my aunts, Jasper and Catherine, but I was not where I stood before staring at the portrait. I was somewhere else, it looked a little bit familiar. It was the castle, the throne room.
At a corner of the magnificent throne room, a man in black suit and black trousers held a bell in his hands and shook it.
Ring!! Ring!!
The bell rang again and I understood where the ringing had been coming from. My gaze swept across my surrounding and my eyes landed on two people.
I smiled when I saw them. A silver tall man, wearing a ceremonial outfit, with a golden crown graciously adorning his silver long hair.
By his side, was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. Her black hair flowed down her side, she wore a graceful blue gown and a slimmer more feminine crown sat atop her head.
My birth parents, the most charming, beautiful couple I had ever seen. I know my appearance was changed to keep me safe and all, still, I couldn’t help but wonder, if I even looked a fraction like her, especially when compared with her beauty.
My mother raised her head a little and gazed into the my father’s eyes, as did he, slowly bringing his lips closer to hers, till they shared a passionate kiss in front of their subject. My cheeks flushed at the sight.
Cough!!
“Ahem!! Your majesties, ready whenever you are” the man with the bell from earlier said, interrupting them.
My parents turned their gaze at him and smiled. My father spoke first, “Jack, can’t I have a little time with my Queen?” He jokingly asked the man.
This statement made my mum blush more. My father took the opportunity, drew her closer to his body and whispered something in her ear. This didn’t do my mother any good, as she blushed crimson red.
He turned his head back to the man he called Jack, “We are ready, he can start.”
A man stood opposite them with a big drawing board in front of him and started drawing them.
I averted my gaze back to the lovely couple in front of me, I didn’t realize it until, the tears rolled down my cheeks.
“Isabel! Isabel!!” I heard a voice called. I know that voice, it was Jasper’s but he wasn’t here. Then how come…
“Isabel!” The headache came again from nowhere, I closed my eyes as I held my head with my hands.
“Someone make it stop” I begged no one in particular. I squinted my eyes and took one last look at my parents, my tears flowed more freely now. Everything became blurred all of a sudden.
“Isabel!”
My eyes flew open, I tried to get up, but someone held my shoulders down, because of the tears, my vision was blurry, so I couldn’t make out who it was. At least not until he called my name again.
“Isabel! Calm down. I’m here” Jasper’s voice came out soothingly as always. I blinked several times to clear the tears from my eyes and looked at him.
His face came into view, he reached out with his hand and wiped the tears from my face. I was laid on a big bed in a fanciful room, he quickly helped me sit up.
From the corner of my eyes I could see the door, it was slightly opened, but his back was to the door, so he couldn’t see Catherine and her mother. Our eyes met and she pulled Catherine away with her, giving us some privacy.
Jasper’s gaze followed mine, but by the time he turned his head to look at the door, they had both gone. He turned his head back to face me, “What’s wrong? What are you looking at?”
“It’s nothing” I lied.
“You scared me back then Isabel. You had another dream right? What did you dream about this time around?” He asked, feeling concerned.
“Nothing serious Jasper. I’m fine” I brushed him off.
“Isabel, it was something. You were crying in your sleep, that’s serious. Talk to me, you know you could always talk to me right?”
“Forget about it Jasper, it was nothing. I am fine, just slight headache that’s all.”
“But… ” the door pushed open, interrupting him.
Aunt Ariana and Lady Livia walked in. “Isabel” they both called my name at the same time.
“Aunt, Lady Livia” I gave them the best smile I could mutter.
“I am glad you are awake” Aunt Ariana said.
“Thank goodness you are fine. You gave us all a fright earlier on” Aunt Livia spoke, taking a few steps towards us.
“I am sorry.”
