Chapter 55 – What’s waiting for you on the other side?

Just before the revolution began. Lucianell-sensei’s abduction squad had surrounded her research building.
“Prince Rias and Princess Marianne are doing something strange with their magic formula?”
The troop leader hiding in the woods frowned upon hearing the report.
”From the shape, it’s an ‘ice-breaking stake’. If the goal was to destroy the magic formula, they should have executed it right away…”
“If you know that destruction can activate other magic arts? If so, how did you know about it?”
In the first place, the two of them wouldn’t be able to make even a single broken stake with their level of magic. Should we assume that it was made by a high level wizard and that they were only asked to maintain their magic?
”What about the squad that will assassinate the two of them?”
“There was no sign of the surveillance officer.”
“It’s a covert unit to begin with. If they don’t contact us, we won’t know about it.”
“Well, they’ll be moving in later than we will, so they’re not even looking.”
The assassination squad takes advantage of the chaos that the revolution has started and the Elder Ghouls have been unleashed to assassinate the Prince and Princess. The method is to hurt and immobilize them and feed them to the Elder Ghouls.
No evidence is left behind, and great care is taken not to give the people the impression that the assassination took place first.
“Send them both over to the magic formula, just in case. If the assassination squad stays out of it, we will stop them from destroying it. You will return to me when you have accomplished your objective.”
The two men who were present were selected and ran off, muffling their footsteps.
“Well, how is my squad’s target?”
“He’s upstairs in a room. My assistant, and Hart Zenphis are in the same room.”
“That’s nasty,” the captain sighs.
“It’s within the realm of possibility but there’s a possibility of Black Warrior appearing around him. Have the troops arrived to deal with that one?”
“Yes. I’m picking them close to the main entrance.”
“Okay. Plan C is your plan of attack. When the black warrior appears, use that unit to draw them away from the target. Remember, target acquisition is our top priority.”
“Ha. I tell you all. Lucifer bless you.”
“Hmm. Lucifer bless you.”
His men scattered. The unit commander jumped up on top of a tall tree and stared at the research building.
After a moment, his enhanced hearing caught the sound of an explosion in the distance.
“Let the revolution begin!”
When he raised one hand, a number of shadows attacked the research building–.
”Can I go home now?”
Hart– a copy of Hart C. asked, groggily on the sofa.
“Sure. You just need to leave your offensive magic tools on the table.”
Tiarietta is smiling with her saucer and cup. Behind her, Porcos was clearing away the scattered books and other things.
“It’s a good thing that I’m not going to be able to get away with it. I can’t just hand it over. It’s not just a matter of time before you get your hands on it.”
“Naturally. If there is a mystery, it is the researcher’s job to find out what it is. Speaking of mysteries, I’d like to find out more about yourself. You’ve been in a bad mood lately. In fact, I’ve heard that you’re a lot worse off than you were on your first day.”
“What? A clean slate?”
“Why do you look so happy? Well, it’s still solidly rated as the equivalent of an A class in first year. I’m sure you’ll be able to move up in the next class change….so why are you disappointed this time?”
“A lot of things happened to me, you know.”
“Huh,” and that’s when I let out a deep sigh.
Gasp!
The windows were smashed.
”Huh?”
Hart C was blown away by a direct hit of a light bullet. It knocked down the long table and chairs behind him and buried him in them.
“Just when I’m having a good time. Who are you people?!”
One or two men and women in black cloaks break in through the windows. They surround Tiarietta and two of them come up to Porcos and hold out their hands to him. It’s right before the magic is activated.
“You must be Professor Tiarietta Lucianell. You must come with us.”
A man who looks like a captain came in leisurely afterwards and told him coldly, “You’re asking me out on a date?”
“I’ll go with you wherever you want to go if you’re willing to entertain me. So, it would be nice if you’d let me know first.”
“We’re running out of time. I’ll tell you where we’re going.”
“You’re a boring guy. It’s very unlikely that you’ll be able to do anything about it. However, even if you refuse, I’m sure that they’ll force you to go with them anyway, so why put Porcos-san in danger?”
“Yes, sensei…”
“Yeah, don’t worry about it. This pattern won’t cost you your life if you follow it. It’s just—”
Tiarietta cowered her shoulders and said.
“Your first move was too bad. It was a mistake to piss him off.”
Boom.
Following the explosion, a man of captain rank was blown away. 𝓷𝑂𝗏𝔢𝐥𝔫ℯxt.𝑪𝓞𝓂
The boy stood up, pushing aside the collapsed long table and chair.
“It doesn’t hurt, but it did startle me. What are you doing all of a sudden?”
Two or three rounds in succession, the magic gun in his hand erupted in fire. Even though it wasn’t the wind that they were aiming at, the magic bullets bent their trajectory and attacked the intruders as if they were alive.
“Porcos-kun, run!”
“Huh? Ha, Hai!”
Tiarietta took Porcos by the hand and went out into the hallway.
Hart C. followed, firing his gun wildly.
”No, it’s amazing. It’s quite powerful and accurate. And, it doesn’t look like you’re using magic.”
“There’s a limit to the number of bullets, though. I mean, why don’t you run out?”
“We’ve set up a perimeter to detect intruders. It looks like they’re the only ones in the building. So they must be surrounding the outside.”
“So we’re going to intercept them inside?”
“Since we don’t know how many of them are out there, it’s not safe. So, we’ll use the secret escape route to sneak out.”
“Why are you doing that?”
“It’s romantic!”
Hart C thought that he’d get along with his sister.
“You’re a lot cooler than I thought. I’m surprised you didn’t get hurt, but you’re too damn keen.”
“It’s just my personality.”
“Are you sure you can beat them?”
“No, I’m weak myself. Well, I’d prefer it if I could escape.”
He can’t shake the feeling that he is uncomfortable with his unassuring answer.
(Inexplicably, it’s still odd. His physical abilities are inferior to the day I first met him. And yet, his defensive strength is on par with or even better than that of the “Earthshaking War Hammer”. That attack earlier, if it was Watashi or Porcos-kun, I would have died.)
In addition, even though the magic gun was top-notch, he didn’t seem to be giving himself any magic power.
Everything is unbalanced and inexplicable.
(Whether it’s defense or offensive magic tools, it’s reasonable to assume that it’s given by “him”…)
However, according to the white mask information, Hart himself does not belong to Weiss Owl or Camelot.
(According to my research, the white mask is definitely Charlotte Zenphis, Hart’s sister. If that’s the case, why is Hart acting as if he’s not directly related to Shiva?)
Rather, their relationship is the strongest between them, and they don’t want you to realize that.
(Let’s see what all this fuss has to tell us. I mean, what’s going on now?)
She ran downstairs and into a secret passage hidden in the kitchen floor. She ran straight down the basement passage and out into the woods.
“There are several traps in the building and the underground passages. They won’t be able to track us down right away.”
“But, where do we go from here?”
“A crowded place. If a student gets hurt, a bunch of battle-hardened teachers will come running in droves.”
“What? You’re going to use a student as a shield?”
“We can’t turn our backs on them. My life is more important to me than everything.”
“Sensei, are you still a teacher?”
“Porcos-sensei, it’s a little late for that. Come on, come on, hurry up or you’ll catch up.”
The two of them struggled to keep up with her as she happily buzzed ahead. However, when they jumped out into the open, Tiarietta came to a sudden stop.
”Sensei, what is this….?”
“Well, I’m the wrong person to ask, but…”
“It’s chaos.”
It’s full of dark-bodied humanoid deformities and…
“Hart-kun!”
“You’re here!”
“Seriously, give me a hand, please!”
There were three students who fought against them – and they were the only ones who could.
