Journey Of A King - Chapter 4
After killing the Knight a strand of gray energy emerged from his body and entered his own.
Once the energy entered his body, he could feel his body getting slightly stronger as it entered.
Once all the energy entered his body he could feel a surge of energy rushing right through, he felt his body heat up causing him to sweat. This lasted for a few seconds before he could a burst of energy through his body causing him to feel energized.
‘Did I just break through to 2 star initial knight already? I must’ve broken through to 2 star initial, I remember that guy saying that he was at peak of 1 star and so after killing and absorbing his Sword Energy, it allowed me to breakthrough to 2 stars Initial Knight.
Normally situations like Jax is in wouldn’t happen. No, situations like that would never happen.
A normal fresh initial one star knight wouldn’t compare to someone at the peak of their level. At most they would’ve probably held off for a few rounds but they were doomed to fail at the start.
He was only able to win the fight due to temporary power spike after coming back from the dead. It was short buff that was given to him by the voice since if Jax fought the Knight again without a buff, he was doomed to die again.
As Jax stood, comprehending his powers he thought to himself, ‘So this is the powers of an Initial 2 Knight.’
‘This power is truly immense, I could at most fight fifty people but not one-hundred. I would guess that once I breakthrough to either 4 or 5 stars of Initial Knight I would then be able to fight that amount.
Jax’s knowledge on the rankings were average, all he knew was that there were 5 stars in each category and that the category started with Initial Knight, Apprentice Knight, Knight, Grand master Knight, then ending with the category of Knight Emperor.
He didn’t know if he was missing categories in between or if there were any more past Knight Emperor.
As Jax finished thinking to himself he then looked around and noticed that everything was silent as well seeing that everyone was looking at him.
The soldiers were all stunned from the beginning to end, at first there was a light that shined upon a soldier that was Jax.
Then moments later after the light disappeared the person under the light got up as if he came back from the dead.
Their thoughts were later confirmed when the Knight yelled in fright asking how Jax came back to life.
They didn’t know what to think, hell they couldn’t even think at all.
Some religious soldiers soon thought that Jax’s rebirth was the birth of god and were then knelling down in front him.
If Jax knew the reason why the soldiers were kneeling down towards him because they thought that he was god. He would’ve cried laughing and maybe even mocked god.
Moments later a trumpet can be heard in the distance, it was the song of the Galing Army. The trumpet got louder and as it got louder the ground started shaking.
“Reinforcements! We’re saved!” one of the Galing soldiers jumped in delight. Soon after the sound of retreat can be heard on the other side.
Soldiers that were in shock moments before came back to their senses the moment they heard the sound. They soon started to run away from on the oncoming reinforcements.
No one attacked the fleeing soldiers as they were excited and still shocked due to the eye catching event.
You could see as the reinforcing army came closer the opposing army was getting farther and farther. Everyone who were just fighting thought this battle of theirs would be their last.
They thought they would never come to embrace of their loved ones ever again. It was truly a miracle that happened. This battle of theirs would be recorded in the “History of the Rising Emperor” in the first chapter titled “Beginning’s Of The King”
Upon coming to the battlefield with his army, the Commander of the reinforcements could see that the battle that just happened moments ago was chaotic. Thousands of soldiers from both sides, most being the Galing Army could be seen lifeless on the ground with blood still bleeding through their wounds.
‘It was a bloody battle. Today’s battle could be called a victory, but could it really?’ The commander thought to himself as he saw that there were more corpses of the Galing’s Army compared to the opposing army.
Most people would call this battle a miracle. An army of 50,000 repelling an army of 100,000 was the first to ever happen. Any other army facing those odds would’ve been wiped out.
So what else could you call it besides a miracle? But all those people who say it was a miracle wasn’t there at the battle.
Those who fought in the battle wouldn’t call it a miracle at all. Yeah, they were happy for being able to win the battle and live for another day. But what of those that fell during the battle? The same can’t be said for them.
A brother that you were joking moments ago, all lively and energetic. But now a lifeless corpse devoid of life. It’s why those that fought and won the battle can’t say that the battle was a miracle.
A general in the past had a saying. It was
“No victory can truly be called a miracle or even a victory, cause can it be said to those that have fallen in battle?”
As the commander marched though the corpses he soon stops and shouts
“Who was the one that created the piercing light?!”
Hearing the question, the soldiers turned their face to the soldier next to them. Then the soldier the soldier faced turned his face to the once that was next to him. This kept ongoing until every soldier laid their eyes upon Jax.
