Journey Of An Unknown - Chapter 14
Zou Shen thought of an idea on his way as he entered the mountain range. He had had wanted to do this ever since he got Wind Qi into his body. This would be something he wanted to do with every form Qi he found.
He used the Wind Qi part from the Infused Qi to transform his body back to a hollow state, his skeleton was transparent, his organs were transparent, his blood was transparent. They turned into the wind in the clear sky, he then slowly started transforming his skin also to wind, it spread from his hands towards his whole body.
His clothes also transformed into wind, he had been slowly mixing the Infused Qi into the Onmyoji dress he was wearing, it slowly transformed from a simple dress to a treasure armour that he wore with the pure Qi of the Infused Qi giving defence and regeneration. As soon as the transformation was complete for the dress it would be the same as Zou Shen, if he would go through a change so would his clothes need to adapt to his change. Otherwise he would go poor again buying new clothes everything.
His whole being felt that it was ripped apart by the wind, he was used the pain at this point as his mind was calm and his eyes closed in meditation all throughout the journey in the mountain range.
He circulated the Pure Qi into this wind form to stabilize it, he was getting drifted away into the sky as his body felt to weigh nothing. The Pure Qi infused into the Wind Qi forming a pure white coloured wind all around his ethereal wind form. The Infused Qi aura appeared and made the form complete; he could now stay on the ground and move around freely.
If anyone were to see him now, they would see a wind deity like figure who had appeared in this world. His hand had turned to claws and there was a halo of pure white wind behind him. His eyes were pure blue, his mouth when opened was also pure blue. There was no teeth or tongue in his mouth, yet he could speak clearly, his eyes had no iris or pupils still he could see clearly. Every single strand of hair had turned to pure white wind. He whole body turned to pure white. His clothes also turned to white with blue outlines in various places matching the same colour scheme as the same one. For black it turned pure white and for gold it turned pure blue.
The wind Qi of the world flowed through him as it seemed he was the sky itself and it was natural for the wind to pass through him. The pure white wind then flowed everywhere then coming out from his large pure white halo behind him. He had become the sky itself creating his hollow body form as a vessel for the wind in the world as he walked anywhere in this form.
Zou Shen was calm throughout this experiment in the creation of this form, he called it the ‘Ethereal Wind Form’. For now he would call it just this as he knew he could upgrade it with the Lightning Qi and become a true form of the Sky above.
He wanted the best Lightning Qi for himself, so he had to do some searching for one. He could not just wait for lightning to strike and be able to upgrade his form easily. For now he was going to test his very first Ethereal Wind Form. He went deep into the mountain range forest.
He punched a tree near the path he was on to test this form. His claw fist flowed around the tree bark and appeared on the other end like it had passed through the tree.
Zou was surprised to see this happen, he thought that his claw fist made of wind Qi would shred through the tree bark. Instead it passed through the tree instead and came out the other end.
He thought for a moment then increased the circulation of the Infused Qi in his body to run at full force, more wind Qi flowed through him and it came out of his halo in pure white strands of find flowing out. This time however the circulation and flow became rapidly fast, he became from walking pure white storm now.
He focused the flow of this pure white storm wind onto his right hand wrapping itself around his hand. He made the action of slicing towards few trees nearby where he was with his right hand. The pure white storm wind released itself from his hand as it raced towards the direction of the trees it was aimed at. Its form was of a horizontal pure white arc.
As soon as it touched the first tree it destroyed it and then the next tree and then the next tree increasing in area of effect spreading out. The process went on for a long time until it finally stopped after the storm losing its rage and dissipating into the sky as a calm flow of wind.
The destruction caused by this attack was more than what Zou had expected, the destruction caused was in an arc formation. Every tree close to him was fully destroyed not leaving even dust behind, the scene of destruction decreased as he looked in the distance, still the area of destruction increased from small near him and spread in an arc outward not stopping until it ran out of strength.
He looked at the ground near the start of the destruction. There was a deep hole near the very first point of impact as the soil and mud was ripped apart and blown back the edge of the destruction. It looked like some giant had taken a shovel dug the entire area in an arc from that very point.
Zou Shen realized that the ground had taken some of the load meant for the trees hence the decrease in power as it went outwards. He knew that in the air hardly anyone would be able to stop this attack. In the air without anything to absorb the pressure the attack would remain for a very long time than now and spread through the sky unrelentingly.
‘Not bad, it needs more practice and work, but this Ethereal Wind Form is a defensive body and uses spell like technique for offense. I cannot do much with the body itself but make the wind Qi around in the surrounding area into Infused Qi. The Infused Qi used the wind element more in this form, using the Pure Qi as a skeleton which gives it’s form and function.’ Zou looked at the huge amount of pure white Infused Qi flow from the ground to the sky above, returning to its natural way of existence.
After a while of thinking he released the form with huge amount of Infused Qi flowing out from the halo as it covered him in a mist. Soon after he walked out of the mist and returned to his original self. The skeleton, his organs and his blood all returned to form, nothing was different from a human in image and function.
He returned to the path in the mountain range leading to Feathers Peak city. He left the destruction as it was and moved on his journey. He was still meditating with his eyes closed through all this. He wanted to fulfil his goal of reaching the peak of this very early skill he had when he was reborn in this world. He didn’t know what waited at the peak, but it was not a waste of time for him.
If not for this hard work, he would be never be able to meditate during such difficult changes or understand clearly what strength he had. To practice of increase his strength of his spiritual sense, resulted in his strong, clear mind and calm emotions during difficult times. This helped him learn more about the world and himself quickly gaining insight. This would help in the speed of his growth the stronger this spiritual sense mediation was the faster he would increase in strength through insight.
He continued with his meditation and kept practicing swings with his bamboo stick. Under his right foot he created a base of Infused Qi on the ground and launched himself forward. His launch forward was so instant this time that it looked like teleported a long distance from his current position. Zou thought this needed more work to fully come online. He started to call it ‘Instant Launch Art’
He had come to realize everything was slow, from his sword style to his formation of attacks, it all felt slow to him. Everything took time to build up and release. He felt like someone would bring out a hidden weapon by the time was ready to attack and kill him 10 times over. This was going to take some time to solve, he fully focused on this issue for now.
He was one week into his journey in this mountain range and the selection tournament would start in another week. He even started using his Ethereal Wind Form to increase his speed to the maximum. He was using this practice in increasing his speed of attacks and getting more time with the form to use it more efficiently. At least his speed of transformation caught up to an acceptable rate.
He was deep in meditation when he heard someone crying in the forest slope to the right of his path. He wanted to leave the person alone, but he still turned around and headed towards the crying sound.
‘Sometimes I wish was truly heartless, I get mixed up too much in these things. Where is a hero when you need them to do their job?’ He thought as he headed towards the direction.
As he reached the crying person, he found out it was a little girl crying loudly under a tree, he tried to sense if someone was nearby, he then sensed some Dark Qi coming from the bushes. To his left, he didn’t wait to find out what it was, he just slashed with his bamboo stick towards the bush releasing his Infused Qi arc attack. This time it was not the storm wind, but a simple concentrated wind slash.
After the attack reached the bushes the tree behind the bush fell on the bush crushing it and the demonic beast that was hiding in it watching the little girl. Its chopped of head rolled towards Zou
Shen stopping at his feet, the demonic beast looked like a transformed wolf beast with black large build, red eyes and large sharp teeth.
Zou had already seen the large back of the demonic popping out from the bushes when he slashed in that direction. The beast had reacted quickly to his attack trying to escape but failed as the attack had already reached him by time, he realized he had been attacked. Zou had increased the speed of his sword swings. He also increased the speed of Qi flow inside him by making it travel back and forth through his body in high speed even when he did nothing with it, just to find ways to increase his speed. Only the start remained slow and needed to be worked on more for a final solution. That in turn would help him to work on his Ethereal Wind Form conversion speed of Wind Qi from the world to Infused Qi that he used. The supply of Qi was unlimited the infusion process was rather slow. This would be frighteningly fast for anyone else, but it had not reached the stage where he could be happy with it.
He had for a moment checked on the flow of Qi inside the beast before he got his chopped off by his attack. He was thoroughly impressed by the process used by the body of the demonic beast. The
Dark Qi was created by forcefully taking in the spiritual energy of the world and transforming it. It looked like this demonic beast was not born naturally but corrupted by the Dark Qi and became a demonic beast forcefully. He wanted to learn more about the Dark Qi, but it all disappeared in an instant, leaving behind a rotten and headless corpse.
He was sad at the missed opportunity, if he knew Dark Qi was so interesting, he would have not killed the demonic beast but captured it and studied it, then kill it to research more. He decided to head to the Netherworld once to visit these demons to hunt them for his research into Dark Qi.
He kicked the chopped off away and turned towards the crying girl. ‘This little girl is really a cry-baby, no wonder she was so loud that she could break through my meditation. I should know how this scenario turns out but let’s hope for positive outcome.’ He thought as he walked towards the crying little girl.
