Journey Of An Unknown - Chapter 26
After a while Yan Shui got up with his hands bleeding like a waterfall of blood. His legs and body were using all the remaining physical and mental strength it had just to stand up.
He couldn’t stand up even for a few moments as the pain received from his bloodied and dead hands overwhelmed his normal functions, he feels on his knees as a last resort but couldn’t move his arms at all due to immense pain from his hands.
His hands still bleed him dry as he continued to lose a lot of blood. Soon a group of medical personnel came to use the water Qi healing spells on him to stop the bleeding and give a chance for recovery for his hands.
There were healing pills in the world that could repair his skin and muscles of his hand, but it would be very costly, it might make a hole in the treasury of his mid-tier sect. The ingredients for these pills were not cheap or easy to find and the sect would not be able to hire a grandmaster realm alchemist to make the pills and a master realm physician for recovery.
He was officially a cripple in the world of cultivation now, not that his meridians were fully destroyed making him a mortal, but he was an actual cripple who could not use his hands until it was repaired fully.
The pain signals attacking his mind stopped after receiving the medical attention. He could finally think straight again and use the rest of his body properly. The head of medical personnel recommended that he doesn’t try to direct Qi towards his hands at all if he didn’t want to suffer immense pain and agony again.
He stood up after a long time of getting the bleeding on his hands stopped, he looked at the damage on his hands and was in despair. The skin and muscles had been peeled off from the front side of his hand and he could see the bones of his hand clearly.
He broke down crying when he saw the state of his hands. He didn’t even know if anyone in his own sect would help him. Who would help him? He realized he was an arrogant and prideful person, he had bullied and crushed many in his own sect. He had no real friends just people who clung on to him for protection because of his strength.
Now that he needed money and support would they truly help him; would anyone help a person like him? He held his head down crying as he knew the truth already and had known it for a long time.
He ignored it before because of the pride and arrogance in his own strength but now he knew that pride and arrogance would not help him. He could only beg others to solve this crisis for him as he had no one to depend on in his sect or anywhere. He had made countless enemies through power and servants through fear but no true friend or a true helper.
Everyone who was left in Grand Arena saw this fight end quickly but what when they saw the damage done, they could feel pain deep inside. The judges, officials, the medical personnel and the few people who stayed for this fight they were silent as they saw it all unfold before them.
The fighting was spectacular and quick, but the aftermath was something they would never forget. From the trail of blood and skin leading to Yan Shui who was on his knees in the pool of his own blood crying on the platform in the Grand Arena.
They could close their eyes and still hear the screams of pain and agony coming from Yan Shui. They could also now see the tears of a strong cultivator like him be brought down to a crying man like a mortal in despair.
They forgot the spectacular quick fight from earlier and now only remembered the after math which had utterly broken a prodigy in blood and tears before them. The whole Grand Arena was deadly silent only the sound of a prodigy crying in despair echoed everywhere.
Zou Shen was still standing in his spot all this time; everyone had forgotten about him again due to the painful moment happening before them. He sighed inside and walked towards Yan Shui who still wailing loudly.
He came before him to sense his condition and found out his hand could still be saved just; he would need help in doing so. He looked forward towards Yan Shui and asked him.
“What will you do after your hands heal and recover fully? Have you realized something now after facing this moment alone?” He asked in a clear and loud voice so that his words could pierce through the cries of Yan Shui.
When Yan Shui and everyone heard his voice, they all shuddered in fear. This was the person who caused this to happen to a prodigy like Yan Shui and from what they had seen he hadn’t even tried to hurt him this way. It looked like it all happened because of fate, but they all knew deep down that he had controlled the result in some way after hearing his question to Yan Shui.
Yan Shui crying stopped as he froze in fear, when he looked up at Zou Shen face, he could see no emotion present, to him he was the void in which death lived. Looking at Zou Shen he wanted to use his legs to run away, but fear took control of his body and he could not even move as he frozen solid.
There was no answer to Zou Shen question from Yan Shui as he was frozen solid from fear. Zou Shen didn’t wait for his answer as he turned towards the group of medical personnel and asked them.
“Any of you know a regeneration Water Qi spell?”
“We know a simple regeneration spell, used to heal minor injuries like small cuts or burns that require skin regeneration. That spell is simple and cannot be used to repair his hands.” The head of the medical personnel answered Zou Shen, they were all scared of him but still had to be professional and give an answer.
“You all just use the spell and let me heal him in my own way. If what I do here leaks out, I will personally send each and everyone of you to the afterlife.” He said calmly as it didn’t affect him if they believed him or not.
Everyone near him who heard his words was immediately scared for their lives, the group of medical personnel just nodded not wanting their life to end in a miserable than the Yan Shui who was frozen solid by fear. They all channelled the Water Qi regeneration spell on Yan Shui hand covering both hands in water. He could see muscle and skin forming again but the effect and speed of it was so slow it might take them a lifetime to see any visible results. He didn’t have time that much time, he observed the water Qi for a long time and then dipped his first finger into the bubble the spell had created from water Qi for regeneration.
He sent out a tiny amount of Infused Qi into the spell bubble of Water Qi and it started to spread immediately all around the spell bubble. Soon the spell bubble made from Water Qi turned pure white and the speed of the regeneration spell became faster and more potent unlike anything anyone had seen before.
The pure Qi from his Infused Qi could heal much more than a simple regeneration spell it worked wonder for him but the speed when used on others was very slow to him.
He thought of the idea to use his Infused Qi to speed up the regeneration spell and add on the miracle features of his Pure Qi mixed in the with Water Qi of the spell.
He could not infuse the Pure Qi with the Water Qi as he needed the Water Qi to be his own to start the infusion process and the group of medical personnel had a weak Water Qi.
Yan Shui hand started to heal slowly as muscles and skin started from through the edges of the peeled of part of the hand. The process would take hours to finish before Yan Shui hand fully formed again. Those who were on the platform could not believe their eyes, a miracle was happening right in front of them.
The group of medical personnel were shocked to kingdom come; they had never felt such a powerful regeneration spell before. They were all connected to the spell so they could feel the strength of this regeneration spell fully. They had also learnt many healing spells, but this felt unlike anything they had learnt before, they didn’t even know if such a strong regeneration spell even existed in this world.
After some hours from midnight passed, Yan Shui damaged hand fully healed, all now that was left for some physician to help him with his recovery. Yan Shui had seen this process before him through each second. He also could not believe his eyes and mind, to him it felt like he was dead, and this was all an eternal dream.
When his hand fully healed, he looked at his hands and he wanted to cry tears of joy, but Zou Shen quickly knocked him out cold on the platform. The group of medical personnel knew what they had to do; what Yan Shui needed was time to recover the functions of his hand slowly.
“Contact someone from his sect, to return him to his sect and tell them he needs time to recover.” Zou Shen spoke after he knocked out Yan Shui cold.
The team of medical personnel nodded in agreement as they took Yan Shui away from the platform and into a medical room as they ordered someone to contact his sect.
Zou Shen the turned towards the officials and the judges, when seeing Zou Shen look towards them, they were scared but soon realized this was still a match of the selection tournament and they had to announce a winner. It was no question who had won this last match of the day, probably this being the longest match they had seen in the tournament if counting the time both fighters stayed on the platform.
The members of the audience who remained and saw the aftermath had also left the Grand Arena with a memory they would never forget. It was just Zou Shen the judges and the officials left on the platform now.
No need to announce it loudly as there was no one to hear of his victory so they just quietly told him he had advanced to the next round. Zou Shen hearing that just returned to his seat and closed his eyes deep meditation.
None of the judges or officials bothered him as they knew it would be dawn in a few hours and there was no point of kicking him out as all the inns were probably filled. Letting him out in streets would shame the Red Rain sect if others found out what they had done. So they all left Zou Shen all alone in the Gran Arena to rest and meditate.
It was very quiet and peaceful in the Grand Arena, Zou Shen started trying his crazy idea again to reach the moon in the sky with his infused Qi, minute by minute his Qi soared in the night sky but it still did not reach the moon in the sky.
He had gained many things from today, so he quietly meditated on them, he first thought about the Star Stone Pillar. He had found a hidden secret in that pillar that could change this cultivation world forever. He needed time and strength to fulfil it sadly. Ren Clan would help in this matter quite a lot, he could not do it alone or waste time trying to accomplish every single detail of his plan for this secret to come true.
The second he gained today was to see the water Qi in action. He realized how helpful it would be if he infused Water Qi also into his Infused Qi which contained Pure Qi and Wind Qi. The percentage of dying during his crazy experiments and methods would decrease by 5% at least with the help of Water Qi. He needed a good source of it like he had decided for the Lightning Qi to upgrade his Ethereal Wind Form.
Soon it was dawn as the sun shined through the sky into the empty Grand Arena. Zou Shen was still sitting alone in the fights seating area quietly meditating with his eyes closed. Soon the second day of the Selection Tournament would start.
