Kael Cor: A Vampire’s Awakening - Chapter 378 Yursk Vii
So here I was standing in an arena with a bloody head still attached to a spine in my hand. I couldn’t help but think about how far I’ve come, how low I had fell and how high I had risen once again. A god! That was quite an achievement, but it wasn’t over, I still had to push harder in order to finally get the peace that I’ve been searching for. I had no idea how, but this Bawa Bawa definitely had traces of divine energy, however he was a mortal, not even a demi-god.
It might be that he was just like me, a god who had sealed his abilities just so that he could blend in, but I doubt that. How many gods have the ability to seal their own divine energy, sure they can masquerade as a mortal, much in the same way Dracula did when I met him in Transylvania, but there will always be a presence around them, an aura of divinity and power that just seemed to cling to their very existence.
But Bawa Bawa had nothing like that, he was just someone capable of using divine energy, but then again it still didn’t make sense. But there was no time to ponder about this, the battle had just began. Bawa Bawa moved so fast that it only took an instant for him to appear in front of me, his speed was comparable to an elder vampire’s, and if his this fast, then it stands to reason that he should also be just as strong, after all he had divine energy coursing through his veins.
He swung his broad sword at my waist, but I jumped up and swung the spine and head in my hand straight to his skull. The head is one of the hardest part of the human body, and a head that still had brain and blood in it was sure to he quite heavy, plus I’m the one swinging it. The head of glove dude smashed into Bawa Bawa’s bald skull, smashing into pieces like a watermelon that had just been thrown at a wall.
He took a few steps back, and shook his head vigorously, shaking off the damage as bright red blood began to pour down from his head. But the blood was not his, and the vestiges of brain and the eyeball hanging from his ear was not his either.
He might have been stunned a bit, but he absolutely took no damage, which more than proved my point, seems like this guy really is as strong and resilient as he is fast. I threw the spine in my hand to the ground, after all it’s purpose have already been served, and there’s not much it could do again. I took a step back, rolled my shoulders and cracked my neck, then I raised my hand and made a come here motion to Bawa Bawa; he happily took the invitation.
This time he came running at me as he jumped up and brought his broad sword slicing/smashing down on my head. I moved to the left with just a second to spare as the sword sliced into the platform and caused a small furrow to be dug on it. While most might think it was just a thin line four meters long and a little bit deep, I could feel that the power from the strike had sliced deep into the earth, almost a hundred meters. Which is to say if Bawa Bawa wanted, he could divide everyone in the arena in half without blinking and in a second.
While the sword was still lodged into the platform I threw a punch at his head, but he ducked and slammed his shoulder into my chest, blasting me backwards twenty whole meters before I dug my feet into the ground, crushing the platform beneath me as I dug even wider furrows than his broad sword. These guy was strong, but just as he hit me I felt something, his divine energy and power does not come from him, rather it was coming from that broad sword and being channeled into his body; giving him enhanced speed, strength and resilience almost at the peak of what a mortal can accomplish. That sword is either a god killer, or in fact the weapon of an actual god aka a divine weapon.
I shook my head and shot towards him, he pulled the sword out and slide out at me, hoping to divide me in half before I got close enough, but I got down on my knees and slid under the strike of that sword, watching and feeling as a formless energy flew past me, and headed towards the edge of the platform, right where hundreds if not thousands of people were watching this fight. I almost acted at that moment, prepared to use (SHIELD) to stop them from getting killed by this idiot wielding a god’s weapon without a single hint of control.
However I didn’t have to worry as a red barrier rose up around the platform and blocked the strike..mostly anyway as cracks rapidly spread across the barrier.
All of these happened in a just a short two seconds, which meant I was still in the middle of this fight. I blasted towards him while he was still over extended, slamming my elbow against his temple and throwing his body like a rag doll across the platform until he smacked against the barrier, causing more cracks to appear.
There was some distance between the two of us, but I don’t think that would be a good idea. I needed to limit the way he used that sword so he wouldn’t kill everyone here. Seriously I’m in the process of brutally murdering someone yet I’m worried about innocent bystanders. I must be the most polarizing/hypocritical god in existence.
The strike to the temple seemed to have dazed him, I shot towards him, and walked right into a back hand from him that slapped me into the air. It wasn’t as painful as it was humiliating, I just got slapped by someone who’s fit to even carry my shoes. Ever since I became a god, there’s these intense yet powerful ego that seems to have been dug deeply into my bones. I might be trying to keep a low profile, but I’ll damned if I kept dirt like this Bawa Bawa humiliate me in a fight.
I rolled myself in the air, making sure my head was facing downwards at Bawa Bawa who had gotten back up at his feet and blasted off towards me, yelling as he swung his sword at my supposedly off balance form. I called out my sword and formless yet incredibly suffocating and sharp pressure seemed to descend upon the entire arena. The barrier shattered just from the appearance of my sword, but I wasn’t paying any attention to that.
I gathered my aura around me and shot towards Bawa Bawa, I swung my sword just as we got close, and there was loud explosion that blasted him back, but even then I already achieved my aim. I felt my sword slice through his broad Sword, and in the process of doing that, it seemed to absorb whatever power or energy that was contained within it, turning the broad sword into a useless chunk of metal that’s shattered into so many pieces it was no different from dust.
And then my sword swept forward and disappeared as I put it away almost immediately and landed on the platform at the same time Bawa Bawa’s body did. I watched with a bland look as his decapitated head rolled to a stop in front of me. I looked at the entrance tunnel that I and walked through to get to the platform, then I raised my leg and kicked Bawa Bawa’s head through it, sending it right back to that goblin lady. I’m sure she’ll get the message.
“Whoooooaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!”
The screams were almost deafening, especially for my very sensitive vampire ears. I guess it doesn’t matter which universe it is, man will always be man. I walked towards the entrance tunnel, turning my back on this platform and the gladiator arena as a whole. As I did so I made a silent vow; the next time I come back here, I’m going to destroy it, all of it.
