Kael Cor: A Vampire’s Awakening - Chapter 396 Castle Nyx V
My meeting with Loki was not one that I would be forgetting anytime soon, the god of mischief can pretty much make himself unforgettable to whoever has the pleasure of misfortune of meeting him. But none the less I actually had a target to point my blade towards; Dracula! My greatest regrets till date has always been not having the chance to be a part of my children’s life, I hope to make up for that, but before or rather while I do, I’m going to be happily waiting for the God hat stabbed me in the back, and make sure he pays for what he’s done.
Either way our destination now would be the empire of Bork and it’s border city; Kamesh, I get the feeling one heck of a fight is waiting there for us, but none the less this was the path that’s been laid out in front of us, and it’s one that I had to take. Discovering what those other gods and goddesses were doing here was important, I’m pretty sure it went deeper than just gaining control of the dungeon planet or bringing it over to their side in this war. I’m missing something, a hidden scheme within ball this drama and plot, but none the less ill find out, I always do.
The castle as barely explored by my by this point, but I knew exactly where everything was, and what I needed to do to make sure I could get it to where it needs to be. I made my way to the castle’s Grand hall, the same one that I had just used to slaughter a bunch of people a few days ago, Roe and Greana were waiting there for me, this two were in charge of management for the castle, with them around I don’t think I have to worry too much about what goes on within and around the castle.
“”Good Morning Master!”” they both greeted me at the same time as I walked in, I gave them all a bright smile as I spoke up.
“Roe, Greana I trust everything is okay with the castle.”
“Everything is fine Master, the castle’s defense systems are holding up and it’s still invisible to others.” Greana answered while Roe puffed out his chest and gave a report of his own.
“Master natural resources have been harvested by the castle, along with a constant intake of soul energy. Though as it stands we will need to get more resources, more food and more blood. The castle has an extensive garden and orchard, however here are no seeds at hand to be planted except for a few wild herbs and flowers with barely any properties. I believe we should make another stop at a city and resupply.” Roe said with a crisp and curt voice.
“I understand what you mean Roe, but where we’re going you wouldn’t have to worry about finding merchants to buy what you need. You can just take it once we’re done. Greana prep the castle for transport, we’re heading to the empire of Bork, and more specifically it’s border city; Kamesh. There’s a possibility that we’ll be facing some opposition once we get to the border, so prepare our troops, I wouldn’t want to be doing everything myself.” I said to her, as she gave a deep bow.
“Your wish is my command master.”
As soon as she finished speaking her eyes began to glow a deep green and the castle itself began to shake. I made my way up to the second floor, past a couple of hallways until I came into what looked like a study, and then subsequently went over to it’s balcony, overlooking the land in front of me. The castle rumbled a few more times, golden arcs of lightning cascading allover it’s frame, golden wisps slowly covering it. This golden Lightning and wisps were nothing more than soul energy, and I watched as they formed numerous tiny rune circles that surrounded the castle, which in turn prompted it to slowly rose into the air, all 15 hecters of it rose into the air, before slowly moving forward and then picking up speed, and then…
*BOOOM!*
There was a sonic boom as the castle broke the sound barrier, ends rushed last my face and ruffled my hair, there seemed to be a sort of barrier around the castle blocking the rushing winds and preventing it from causing any sort of trouble, so the winds gat came through were bearable, at least for normal people, the amount of Resistance the body of a vampire could take is one that would tear a human to pieces, no matter how powerful they are.
I stood there as the castle travels to the northern reaches of the dungeons first floor, it wasn’t flying as fast as I could, but that’s understandable, it’s a building, it should have certain limitations, especially now with my godly abilities sealed again. If it were unlocked, then it stands to reason that the power this castle would be able to unleash would be a whole lot more than what it currently showed, but none the less it was quite good in the long run.
I felt a hand on my shoulder and then turned to see Rhea standing behind me. My sister has grown from the snot nosed know it all noble brat she once was, but even then we’ve not had too many interactions, not since I became leader of the vampires. We really needed to find a moment where all that matters was just the two of us, we have a lot to talk about, their amongst them being the fact that Gus and Teluna were hanging around her a lot, they were too close.
“So when we get to this Kamesh what next?” She asked as she stood besides me.
“We’ll worry about Kamesh once we’ve gotten there little sister, however what we need to worry about is the border of that empire. Even from here I can feel the precautions those gods made in an attempt to prevent us from getting into it. There’s a barrier of godly energy covering the entire kingdom, and an army of thousands at every entrance to the kingdom, this guy’s came here prepared.” I said to her as the castle moved onwards.
“Do we have to go through a border, we could just sneak in from the side.” Rhea said to me with a matter of fact tone.
“Sure we can, but the empire of Bork is recognized for many things, chief amongst them is the fact that there’s a natural Mountain range around the entirety of the empire. It’s a natural spell formation and their visitors had piggy backed on that formation to create a barrier that would prevent anything from getting access into the empire from anywhere else but the main gates at the border city where they can screen and know everyone who walks into it.
They’re paranoid, which is fine and also good, being too careful means they’ll make less mistakes, but it also means that they’ll definitely make mistakes, gods aren’t perfect. However we can’t just barge in, there are seven gods on this dungeon planet, I’m sure not all of them are in the Bork empire, but I’m not so arrogant that I think I can take them all by myself, which means I’ll need your help. If we can’t sneak in at the border, you and I will go look for those gods, and Xaseah, Teluna and The will leader the soul catcher oak army to decimate the rabble of foolish humans that has decided to follow them.” It wasn’t a full proof plan, but this was a good as it gets for now.
“How do you know all this big brother?” Rhea asked me.
“Gods are an open book, sure we have some secrets, but when it comes to the manipulation of natural sources and power, we always leave an echo behind in nature, like a supernatural recording. And gods have this nifty ability of knowing the answers to a whole lot things by virtue of being connected to the universe or rather a fundamental aspect of it. To be a god means to know the secrets of the universe, what you do with it, is all up to you.”
“Wow! I never knew, I should go get ready.” Rhea said to me as she turned to leave.
“Well you should hurry up with that, we’re already here.”
