Kael Cor: A Vampire’s Awakening - Chapter 397 Knock Knock
Kamesh was unlike any border city I have ever seen or had the pleasure of being in, usually border cities are hard, with barely enough population as most people would prefer to live deeper into the country, kingdom or empire.
However Kamesh was built in a valley, enclosed on both sides by massive mountain cliffs that were literally thousands of meters long. Of the natural barrier that surrounded the entire Bork empire, this was where the elevation was higher, and since Kamesh was built snugly in the middle of both cliffs, a passageway city into the empire, it made invasion almost impossible.
It would take a serious amount of bloodshed to get through the city, and their massive metal gates. Since they weren’t expecting anyone the gates were wide open, however the moment a massive castle appeared in front of them, they were obviously all on high alert, but no matter, it didn’t matter how they prepared or fought, if these gods hiding in the city didn’t come to their rescue hen this was going to be a slaughter, a very terrible one.
There were two gods in the city, The were hiding themselves, but such methods were crude and not fool proof, even if they possessed the body of a mortal, traces of their godly energy would still leak out, so unless they had a seal like mine, it would be impossible for them to hide or keep themselves from being discovered, I knew exactly where they were, but short of looking at my face and knowing that Kael Cor had come to Kamesh, they knew nothing else, which means they didn’t know I was a god. But then again I didn’t have to be a god to cause fear to run up and down their bones, The dragon Kings had a reputation, they weren’t just powerful fighters, The were powerful god killers.
*Boooom!*
I shot off the balcony I was standing on, the wind behind my back as the clothes I had flapped and shook in tandem with my movements. I landed in front of the gates, creating a crater and a shockwave that pushed the bunch of soldiers who were slowly getting into formation back of their feet. They were lucky, if I had landed any harder then it would have been with the force a missile and bodies would have been blown apart. There was a rumbled behind me as the earth itself seemed to rise up, creating a bridge from a tower in the castle, Rhea came out with the massive bridge of earth moving to bring her down to my side.
“But brother are we going to kill all these soldiers?” Rhea asked as she moved her massive weapons case of her back and brought it down on the ground hard, raising a small amount of dust.
“In all honesty I don’t care too much about them, I just want to be done with what I’m here for and get back to my children, but then again I guess just killing them won’t be too good, so we should give them a chance to surrender, whether or not they take it is up to them, we have no time to waste with posturing, we need to get rid of the gods here and fast, we have a powerful enemy on our tails.” I said to Rhea as I folded my hands, the simple clothes I had on softly caressing my skin as the wind silently flowed.
“There’s always an enemy after us, but we should be more light handed with our approach, wanton killing is not the right way to go. We’re the solution to a messed up world, not the problem, we can not be the problem big brother. So we should be better, however these rabble of people look stubborn, the tattoos on their head is proof that they’ve been indoctrinated by the dark council…they’re our enemies and they’re standing in the way, we should make an example, let them be afraid enough to surrender, Xaseah, Gus and Teluna will take care of the rest.” Rhea said as she looked the still growing crowd of soldiers.
“And how do you suppose we do that?” I asked her with a raised eyebrow, she raised her weapons case up, pushing a button that made the top slide open and twelve tiny barrels showed up, she had her hands on the strap and then said to me.
“Simple…we carve a path straight to our preys! I can feel them too, they’re on that tower. Now them down, and those that survive will back the fuck off!”
And then she unleashed hell on them, the civilization on this dungeon planet was still a bit primitive, they just entered the iron age and were just discovering the wonders of engines and machines as a whole. Rhea spraying them full of bullets from the machine gun hidden in her weapons case was pretty much bringing the future to them, and the future hurts, it hurts a lot.
Rhea was firing compressed earth bullets at them, considering she had absolute control over the element itself, these bullets of hers were as tiny as a pea, but we’re hitting with the force of a grenade, it was not something that any one of them would be able to handle. I rushed forwards, taking a leap over the first line of dead bodies, moving almost two hundred meters into the city before I landed In what looked like a market square, and this time I didn’t care to hold back my power.
*Boooom!*
The market was not exactly deserted, but it wasn’t exactly full either, there was a modicum of control with the way I landed, so everyone here would probably go to sleep with bruises, their stalls and safe on the other hand weren’t as safe from damage as the people. I pushed forward, moving past the market until I came to a residential area, my movements taking nothing but a single second, I ran right into the formation of a small contingent of soldiers, they were obviously tougher than the guys I left behind at the gate, helplessly at the mercy of Rhea, and for all her talks of being careful…..Rhea had no mercy for her enemies, they were just weeds to be mowed down until her morality told her it was enough….. honestly, I should have raised her better.
“You! Intruder! Get down on your knees and out your hands behind your head! Comply and you shall be spared, resist…and you will be destroyed, you have 10 seconds!”
The audacity of this guy, I mean I know he doesn’t know who I am, but didn’t he just see me cross hundreds of meters in lie five seconds, even without my godly energy around, I should look menacing enough, where the hell did this random lackey get the confidence to threaten me…..I’m going to kill him last, yeah that’s exact….
“510! Kill him!”
“What? That’s not how to count!…”
*Boooom!*
My body sailed through the air, with my chest seriously burnt through. The injury was deep enough that my ribs and the tissue beneath them could be seen, and as I flew through the air, smashing through buildings, I realized that their shields had shot at me…my shield couldn’t do that, but still what the hell? Those Shields can not have been normal, and even more so the soldiers that were using it, seems like Kamesh does have a few surprises in store for me.
*BANG!*
“Aww fuck….I landed in a gutter!” I slowly got back up to my feet and pulled the remains of my friend shirt off me, my body bare for the world to see. I cracked my neck from side to side as I shifted my gaze towards the soldiers in the distance, I couldn’t help smiling, guess there’s still a chance to have some fun.
(TELEPORT!)
They did look quite surprised to see me suddenly appear in front of them, the commander of whatever who didn’t know how to count had his eyes narrowed as he looked at my chest. There wasn’t even a scar left behind, within seconds of me registering my injury, it had already healed, if I was in my godly form they wouldn’t even leave a scratch. I looked up at him and said.
“Well boys, let me take you to school, our topic for today is numbers…class is in session, I’ll show you how to really, REALLY! COUNT!”
