Kael Cor: A Vampire’s Awakening - Chapter 405 The Morrigan Vi
It took them the better part of two hours to completely excavate the temple and clear a path for us to the entrance of the second floor. But even with the scale of destruction, it’s obvious the temple had seen better days before my spat with the giants had shaken it to it’s very foundations. The castle could not be moved, contrary to what I believed about being able to shrink it or something like that, the castle itself was a divine object, so some rules could not apply to it, and for all my talks about a divine realm…I honestly had no idea how to get there.
So all we could do was get to the second floor and then try to summon the castle using the same beacon like teleportation within the create, but even if that doesn’t work. Whatever army or obstacle we had to face ahead, the very real fact remained that just me, Xaseah, Rhea, Gus and Teluna was truly and completely overkill. There would be no stopping us, even if our opponents were gods. I guess it was about time I realized that things couldn’t always be convenient, even for gods. I shook my head and gave the castle one last look as I went into the temple, going ahead of everyone as usual.
Roe and Greana would stay behind with the castle, they were somewhat bound to it anyway, which means they’re stronger with it than away from it. The temple was old, and it held unspeakable horrors, and as such I was it be speaking about it. The giants were filled to the brim with human blood even when their bodies was definitely not living flesh. It was in the temple we found the bodies of those that were used, and the bodies themselves were used to make a path, lined side by side all the way down until we got to a closed stone gate, and beyond that the tables second floor.
“I reckon we would have to fight a boss or something of the sort right now?”
Rhea said as she pulled out her massive machine gun, and spread her legs apart, the earth beneath them slowly vibrating.
Her instincts weren’t wrong, besides if this was the Dungeon, a boss seemed like the rather obvious even to happen next. It was predictable, but this was how things were done, so there’s nothing much to be said about that but to allow this kid’s have a fight with the giant manticore that just peeled itself off the top of the gate. Just like the giants, it’s body was made of stone, and it was twice as tall as them, making all of us seem like ants to the heels of a massive human being.
Teluna pulled out a blue and black spear as scales began to appear all-over his body, and a tail followed quickly after, along with wings. I sometimes forget that the kid was a were-dragon, a being born with the soul of s deceased dragon and capable of letting said Dragon soul losses and influence his body was in return for great strength, speed, and vitality. The kid was a powerhouse of epic proportions, and coupled with his assassin like vampire skills, Teluna was bred for war.
Gus slowly floated into the sky, his blindfolded eyes glowing silver behind the black silk cloth tired around his eyes. His telepathic abilities had grown to now encompass telekinesis, but even then it still won’t hated the fact that what he was most proficient in was his ability to seriously fuck with the mind of his enemies. I took a step back, creating a two meter in diameter shield as I drew Xaseah back against myself and relaxed on the shield, all too happy to just sit back and watch.
“you’re not going to help them fight?” Xaseah asked as she leant back on me, I shrugged as I played with a lock of her head.
“It’s time for the younger generation to have fun, I can’t always be taking care of everything for them.” I answered her.
“Are you sure this is not just revenge for them leaving you to fight those giants on your own?” there was a teasing smile on her face, I shook my head without saying anything, but she knew me better than most after all, I really couldn’t lie to her.
Teluna sit towards the manticore, his spear covers with the dark element as black ice crystals hung on it’s frame like the spines on the back of a dragon. The manticore swiped it’s massive claws as Teluna, but he vanished into the shadow realm as Rhea opened fire on the monster, her earth bullets rapidly slamming against it’s heavy chitinous armor, releasing Sparks into the air.
An invisible shockwave of mental energy rippled out, and the manticore slowly most it’s footing, wobbling to one side as Teluna came out of the shadow realm, and stabbed at the head of the manticore. But in a surprising move if agility not expected from a creature of that size, the manticore moved to the side with Teluna’s spear just grazing it and leaving behind black ice crystals that rapidly spread around it’s neck. A black portal appeared in front of Teluna as he vanished into the shadow realm again, and just in time too as a stinger flashed towards his unprotected back.
If was roughly wrenched to the side along with the Manticore’s entire body, giving Teluna the time he needed to escape as Gus held it back. Rhea pressed a switch on her weapons box, and the multiple barrel machine gun transformed in a single barrel massive cannon that began to glow a full yellow light.
The flashing drew the attention of the manticore as it began to bulldozed it’s way towards Rhea, Gus who was floating in the air was still as he seemed to be preparing for something, completely ignorant as the manticore drew closer and closer. I jolted upwards about to act but Xaseah held me back, either way it was already too late as the Manticore had reached them both, the wasted too much time.
