Kajiya de Hajimeru Isekai Slow Life - CH 142
The cart was completed yesterday. Rike and Liddy had been working on the general model knife and training with magic, while Samia and Diana had been out hunting. In other words, today was the day to collect their game. The five of us have experienced collecting the game before and Kururu will be joining us today. It was quite a challenge even with five people when the game was a big one. I think it will be much easier if Kururu joins.
We won’t be using the cart or mini cart this time as well. This is because the carrier that is made over there will be taken apart and dried at home, and then we turn it into lumber like that.
The location where the game is submerged in the lake is different each time. It is near the place where we did some fishing before. Therefore, a little bit of logging should not be a problem…. I think. We’re cutting down some trees somewhere once a week, we’ll need to consider about this sooner or later I guess.
All of us head to the place where it was sunk. The process is still the same, we will pull it up and make a carrier to put it on. But from now on, Kururu will be the one to pull the carrier. We thought about asking Kururu to help us pull it up, but we decided that it would be better to do it ourselves. It may seem overprotective, but even if I am to think about it indifferently, it is not a good way to use the sōryū which is not cheap. Despite my somewhat “bad intention”, in reality, Kururu is happily towing the carrier. I guess we can bring him along again in the future.
Thanks to Kururu, we were able to get home earlier than usual.
“Thank you Kururu.”
Diana strokes Kururu’s nape while thanking him. Everyone else did the same. Of course, I did too.
“Kurururu”
Kururu’s eyes squinted in happiness.
It’s time to dismantle the game. It’s a wild boar this time. From today on, a portion of it will be used as Kururu’s meal, so I’ll set aside some of it for him. Since Kururu hardly eats anything, I kept his portion for today and the portion for drying ―Kururu’s portion will be dried raw. With this we have enough food for Kururu for the next two weeks.
Kururu also eats grass when he feels like it. I checked with Liddy if there were any poisonous plants around here and she said that there were none, unless they mutate. So I didn’t stop him or make any special preparations for it. Kururu’s staple food is the magic of the forest so I decided not to think about other nutrients. It doesn’t seem to be a creature that can be matched with the knowledge in the previous world after all. Well, it’s cute so it’s fine.
Since it is the day when the game is pulled up, today’s lunch will be a dish using that meat. Pork steak is fine, but for today I’m going to make it like a yakiniku. Eventually, I’d like to try to make a cutlet or schnitzel with bread made from fermented seeds, or a dish that is not completely fried.
After lunch, I’ll work on making the high-end model ones. From today I need to rush to make enough inventory for two weeks. Everyone else have a free time but Rike will be observing me work and train as well. Samia and Diana are supposed to help Liddy to improve the fields in the courtyard. Well, it’s half work I guess.
I’ll make short swords and longswords today. They’ve left me a few things that are just out of the molds so I’m going to work on them. When these are gone, I’ll make knives. While I’m working on the short sword and longsword, Diana came inside the workshop from the house. It feels like her expression is different from usual. I thought she was working in the field.
“Kururu is in front of the much smaller cart…”
Oh-, that huh.
“If you hang the attached rope around its shoulder, it’ll be happy to pull it.”
“Oh- okay. I understand.”
Diana jumped out at a speed that would be best fit the word “shoot off”. I guess she felt that Kururu wanted to play with it.
It seems that Kururu is aware that fetching water in the morning is his daily work and that mini cart and the carrier we made when we took the game can be his playthings. How about a big cart? I hope Kururu think it’s an important job because we put a brace on him and travel a long distance.
Perhaps because of the abundant magical power of the Black Forest, it has a surplus of energy. I soon heard him made a “Kururu” sound and then the rattling sound of the cart echoed outside. As I listened to the sounds, I was happy to know that one more item had been added to the “usual” list.
