Kanzen Kaihi Healer no Kiseki - VOL 4 CHAPTER 22
Chapter 22 – An Evening Stroll With Lusha
“I’m sorry, I guess you know I’ve been eavesdropping on you, right?”
Lusha came out as she said that, and her long elven ears were hemmed in.
“But I was here first, you know? The two of you came, and I just hid without a second thought…”
“Eh, so you heard our conversation?”
“Eh? I thought you called my name because you noticed I was here?”
“A-aah, you’re right!”
I wasn’t aware that Lusha was here at all, but I decided to keep the conversation on track here. I was thinking about romance and remembered about Lusha… I can’t even talk about the reaction to this.
It was a cold, “Eh?” I’m not sure I’d be able to recover from that.
――I mean, yeah.
I have to apologize for what I did earlier!
“I’m sorry, Lusha! About the fact that I’m from a different world, and… I hid it from you.”
“…Nope. At first, I was so frustrated that I was never told about it. But when I think about it carefully… I realize that Hiroki and I actually have only recently met, right. But somehow, it seems like we’ve always been together.”
That’s why I was feeling so hazy, said Lusha.
“I’m sorry. Thank you for telling me. And please keep taking care of me from now on as well.”
“Lusha… It’s the same for me, too.”
I clasped my hands tightly and made up with Lusha. Now that it’s all settled, we can go to Tangerine and focus on Lusha’s new job without thinking about anything else.
Okay, let’s go back to the restaurant. I was about to say that to Lusha, but she was staring at me incredulously for some reason.
“Um, what’s wrong…?”
“Maybe it’s not my place to say this, but, well, you know, is it okay with Lucia-sama?”
“Lucia-sama?”
What’s the surprise? I try to say that and scold myself that it’s obviously about confession. But if it seems that way, I guess I didn’t have any feelings for her romantically.
“Lucia-sama has a fiancée, so she doesn’t need an answer.”
“I know that because I’ve heard about it…”
“Ah, yeah, right. If you’ve been listening, you know what happened, right? What’s the problem?”
So this story is over. With that thought, I stood up, and Lusha tugged on the hem of my jacket.
“No! I’m listening to Hiroki’s feelings!”
“Eh? Me…?”
Lusha’s face is red as she says with desperation, and I can tell that she was brave enough to broach the subject. It’s very gratifying to hear her concern, but unfortunately, I don’t think I have those feelings for Lucia-sama.
“I think of Lucia-sama as a friend. I don’t know if it’s going to be more or less than that.”
“Eh… I mean, she’s such a pretty young lady. Don’t you like her, Hiroki?”
“It’s not like I’m going to fall in love with her just because she’s pretty, is it?”
“…Yeah. What, I thought Hiroki liked Lucia-sama but gave up for good.”
Lusha-san, isn’t that a great misunderstanding?
“I see… Yes, I’m glad. I’m glad that I was able to make up with Hiroki and Ren’s contract, and I’m happy to see… that things are progressing.”
“Hmm? Yeah, I know. Next up is Lusha’s new job, so good luck with that.”
“Yeah!”
We’re going to equip ourselves with the items we’ve gotten so far, we’re going to be powered up, and we have a lot of things to do and things we want to do.
“Hey, hey Hiroki, let’s go for a walk!”
“A walk?”
“But it’s just a circle around the place. It only takes a few minutes to get around, so it’ll be quick.”
Then I agreed and started strolling. Lusha is in such a good mood; she’s almost ready to start skipping. We’re walking around the perimeter of the restaurant. There are streetlights at even intervals, so there’s plenty of light. The only problem is that I don’t know what to say at a time like this, and I’m immensely silent.
“Hey, hey, Hiroki.”
“Hmm?”
When I was troubled, Lusha brought up the subject.
“Tell me about Hiroki’s world sometimes.”
“I’ll tell you anytime about that. Lusha has taught me a lot about this world and how to read and write, too.”
“Yay! But Hiroki is improving so fast. I think he’ll be able to read the request forms in the guild and stuff like that in a little while.”
Lusha was right; I’m getting much better at reading and writing. Someday I hope to be able to read books from this world as well. While we talked about that, it didn’t take long for us to walk around the restaurant.
