Kanzen Kaihi Healer no Kiseki - VOL 4 CHAPTER 24
Chapter 24 – Escape from the Pizznut Kingdom
Having finished preparing for the journey, Lusha and I returned to the Starfall Pavilion. However, we don’t rent a room anymore. We are meeting up with Ren and Ruri in the dining room area.
“Oh, you both are here already. Ruri, Ren, sorry to keep you waiting!”
“It’s okay. We just got here.”
I sit down next to Ren as Lusha sits down next to Ruri. I order the lunch menu for four people and intend to wrap up our future before the food arrives.
“Lusha and I are going to Tangerine to change jobs. Of course, we’ll be gathering information in Tangerine as well. I’ll need Ren and Ruri to look for the descendants of the people of the Great Tree who are believed to have created the magic circle here… is there a problem with that…?”
“I’m just happy that I’ll be changing my job.”
“I don’t have a problem with that either.”
”Yes. I know it’s going to be difficult to locate the people of Great Tree, but I’d like to gather information steadily for now.”
No one seems to have any objections to the upcoming schedule. While I’m a little relieved about that, there’s one more thing I want to make sure about.
“Where do Ren and Ruri plan to gather information?”
“That’s the problem, I suppose.”
It was Ruri who answered my question.
“To be honest, I have no idea where it would be. So instead of moving around the continent, I’m going to start by visiting each of the countries here… on this Loquatt continent… what do you think ?”
“I agree. It’s a good idea to get information nearby first, rather than going out of our way. Besides, it’s possible that other countries may be researching the magic circle.”
If we could find it, I’m sure our return to Japan would be a whole lot closer. Lusha and Ren repeatedly nodded after hearing our conversation.
“It’s amazing, going around the world. I feel like a backpacker.”
“It’s just like being an adventurer. Unlike here, I’d like to hear all about it if there’s a more friendly country or something.”
“Yeah. Fortunately, I have a handy title of hero, so I’ll try to do my best with it.”
…I couldn’t help but think of Ren visiting the royal castles of each country while saying, “I’m the Hero.” From the king’s point of view, it must have been a great panic when the hero suddenly arrived.
“Do you both intend to go by boat?”
“Yeah. The Tangerine continent is an island, so it doesn’t have a land route. We’re going to go south and try to find someone who can get us a boat.”
After reviewing each of our plans for the time being, lunch was brought to us. It is somehow depressing to think that this is our last meal here. A side dish of stir-fried vegetables and meat, vegetable and mushroom soup, and a fruit soda. In addition to fruit soda, there is also fruit for dessert.
“Looks good, let’s eat…”
“Ahhh! Hiroki-san!”
“Hmm?”
I traced the source of the voices and found Tina, Dia, and Freutz. As a result of thinking that I would see them anytime anyway, I smiled bitterly when I realized that I had utterly forgotten to meet Tina and the others.
“It’s been a long time, Tina, Dia.”
“We finally meet~! I was really worried when Hiroki-san was taken away in a nobleman’s carriage, you know!”
“A noble’s carriage…?”
Probably that’s Ishmer’s carriage, but it’s nothing to worry about. …That’s what I thought, and I laughed and said it was okay for now.
“Hiroki, should you introduce us?”
“Ah, right.”
As I inadvertently start talking to Tina, Ruri stops me. Freutz and the others seem to be thinking the same thing, and I hurry to introduce them to everyone.
“Well, first of all, Freutz. He was the first person to let me into the party. He’s a hard drinker, but he’s a very nice guy, so it might be a good idea to talk to him about something.”
“Oh, come on, that’s too much to say. But I’m glad you felt that way.”
Freutz sat down at the next table, which was empty.
“And these two are Dia the knight and Tina the magician. They’re both good kids, and the three of us used to go hunting together.”
“I am Dia. Nice to meet you.”
“I’m Tina. I’m still a terrible magician and adventurer, but I’ll do my best!”
After a word of greeting, Dia and Tina sat down in front of Freutz. Next, Ren and Ruri stood up.
“I’m Ren. I come from the same town as Hiroki, and I’m still unfamiliar with this place, but it’s nice to meet you.”
“I’m also from the same town as Hiroki, and my name is Ruri. Thank you for helping Hiroki out and taking care of him.”
As each of them finished introducing themselves, Freutz asked about our schedule.
“Lusha and I are planning to use a horse-drawn carriage to head south for now, after we eat our food, of course. We need to find a place to sail to the Tangerine continent.”
“I see. Actually, the three of us are thinking of moving to a new location. Can I come with you to the city where the ship is leaving?”
“Eh, you’re changing your base of operations?”
First of all, I’m genuinely surprised by that. Tina and Dia also feel like the monsters that inhabit the vicinity are still enough for… well, maybe they have a purpose, and I’m okay with that.
When I looked at Lusha, she nodded her head with all her might, so I immediately responded with my approval.
“Of course, you’re welcome to come along. It’s been a while since I left the party right away.”
“Ah, yay!”
“Pleased to be working with you, Tina, Dia.”
“Pleased to work with you, too!”
“Yeah, me too!”
Ruri, who had been watching us, smiled and said, “It looks lively and fun.”
“After all, it might be nice to have an elite few, but it’s kind of fun to see a bunch of people partying together like this.”
“Yeah. Until recently, we were a party of four. This time, we’ll meet up with each other once Lusha’s job change is over, and we’ll exchange information.”
Then we could form a party of four again, so this time we would be able to go to more difficult dungeons. With that in mind, I’m really looking forward to Lusha’s new job.
“Oh, will Freutz and the others be able to leave soon? Lusha and I were supposed to go out soon. but…”
“Sorry, I was in the middle of packing my bags.”
“Hey, Freutz-san! I told you to make sure it was cleaned up properly!”
I chuckle, as it looks like we won’t be leaving anytime soon. I finish my lunch set meal and then get up to see if I can check the time for the carriage rides first.
“I’ll be around the stagecoach. Can you come over when you’re ready?”
“Yeah, I’ll be quick! Tina, Dia, help me!
“Okay…!”
After hurriedly finishing lunch, Freutz took them to the room where they were still staying. I laugh, thinking it’s like a typhoon. Seeing me like that, Ruri tells me sadly that the time passes so quickly.
“Hiroki, Rusha, are you going to go now?”
“Yeah. Cause if we’re late, we’ll be late getting to the next town or village.”
We don’t want to travel as late as possible because there might be human problems and such. And look, Dia and Tina are still in their growth phase, so I want them to rest well.
So, Lusha and I will be leaving ahead of Ren and Ruri.
“…Hiroki.”
“Hmm? What is it, Ren?”
“No, thank you. For the curse, for the contract, and for the fact that if it weren’t for you two, I would definitely be dead. Thank you.”
Then Ren held out his hand. When I grabbed it tightly, Ruri smiled and put her hand on top of mine, “Me too,” she said. Of course, Lusha followed close behind.
“Well then, I’ll get you some solid information before the next time we meet.”
“I’m going to be a hunter and try to increase my strength!”
“I’ll see what I can find out about the people of the Great Tree.”
“I’m going to go around to different libraries around the country and look for some of the older materials.”
We told each of our goals and put our hands firmly in the air before we untied them. Now that the shackle of the king has been removed, this is where the real work begins.
I’ll be heading south from the Piznutt Kingdom with Lusha.
