Kill The Protagonist - Chapter 5 A true Hero
[How do I change the plot?] Jin asks internally
[It’s simple … We need to follow 3 steps:
1) Protect the MC from any harm so he doesn’t have lucky encounters
2) Remove the Protagonists ally’s (Destroy the Harem)
3) Exhaust Plot armor]
Sounds simple enough right?
A/N: If anyone has a better plan please inform me. I’m open for suggestions. Not fully satisfied with how I worded it.
Jin looks towards the protagonist whose about to face the first plot point in the story.
Hikaru steps up to the podium and puts his hands on the orb. Once his status screen is displayed, there are similar sounds of exclaim much like when Jin’s was displayed. However instead of Awe on their faces, there is only derision.

While his still relatively strong when compared to the average commoner. But when compared to his fellow heroes, it’s the lowest of low.
His face is instantly filled with despair and sorrow. His eyes have lost all light and is filled with emptiness. His only hope out of his life of misery is shattered.
Typically at this moment in time it would be the ‘antagonist’s’ role to further exacerbate the situation and subject the MC to contempt and mocking.
[However I’m not letting myself be the subject of face-slapping. So I guess it’s time to play ‘Mr. Nice guy’]
Stepping to the podium, I make my way to Hikaru whose face fills with fear dreading the upcoming anticipated humiliation.
Much to his and everyone’s surprise, I wrap my arm around him and proclaim
“Don’t let these stats define you. Though you are not as strong as the rest of us. The greatest power is not strength. The most magnificent power we all possess is courage! Courage that even in our weakest states, we stand up to do the right thing and when we are strong enough not to abandon the weak”
Jin steps forward and bows to Hikaru. “You will not be abandoned or looked down upon merely because of these numbers. Hikaru I am sorry for what I have done, If you will forgive me. I want us to begin anew and for you to join me on this journey”
Hikaru is skeptical at this sudden change in character, stands dazed and confused. While the nobles and classmates that have listened to Jin’s impassioned speech can’t help but find themselves amazed by his aura.
Only one thought resounds in their collective minds, ‘This is a hero!’
Jin steps forward and hugs Hikaru tightly. To others this is a heartwarming scene of one comforting another in their worst of moments but contrary to those expectations reality is completely different.
Jin brings his mouth close to Hikaru’s ear and a smirk forms on his face before he whispers, “How was that act Hi-ka-ru ? Did you fall for it like these idiots behind us?”
Hikaru’s eyes widen in shock. For a split moment he had thought hope was restored, yet in the next moment the natural order was once more restored.
Hikaru tries to pull away but with his meagerly strength is unable to escape Jin’s grasp. Jin pulls him into a tighter embrace making it tough to breath. Jin speaks as slowly as he can trying to elongate the mental torture for as long as he can. Seemingly finding extreme pleasure and delight in the protagonists strife.
“You fell for my spiel didn’t you, hahaha. Not only are you weak but you are surprisingly stupid as well. Did you actually think that ‘I’ would care for trash like you ? Please spare me from the trouble.”
Sneakily Jin hits Hikaru in the gut making sure to control his strength. A small cracking sound is heard. Hikaru winces and nearly collapses but Jin holds him upright making sure he stands on his own two feet.
“Why?” Hikaru asks
“Because it’s the . Natural order of things” Jin answers cryptically before finally letting him go.
As the crowd looks at the ‘Hero’ and the talentless one standing shoulder to shoulder.
With tears forming in Hikaru’s eyes the onlookers confuse his tears of pain for tears of joy. Smiles form on their faces seeing this heartwarming scene.
