King Of Sports - 199 In A Rush
“The winner, from China, Tang Yan!”
The referee raised Tang Yan’s right hand and there was a burst of explosive cheers again.
For the audience, who they were supporting depended on what was going on in the ring, someone who could truly win their cheers in the end would always be from the winning side.
Not to mention Tang Yan, had completely upturned their expectations, showing dominance they hadn’t foreseen.
When Tang Yan stepped down, Qin Hailong said with excitement: “Boy, you can definitely secure a Olympics ticket at this rate!”
Tang Yan grinned and said, “I want more than the Olympic ticket.”
See Qin Hailong’s slightly stunned expression, he looked at the national flags hanging above the boxing gym and licked his lips.
Seeing Tang Yan’s move, Qin Hailong immediately knew that he wanted the championship. He smiled heartily: “Good! Good! Young people should have such ambition!”
Tang Yan smiled but didn’t speak.
After the first day of competition, Tang Yan ushered in two rest days.
So after finishing the morning training session the next day, he and Zhang Zhilei headed out to relax.
As a well-known port city near the Caspian Sea, Baku was very prosperous in trade. As the two of them walked around, they could see many regional products. After making a circuit around the markets the two started heading back.
While walking back, Tang Yan suddenly felt a little uncomfortable so he let Zhang Zhilei head back first whilst he headed to look for a restroom.
Azerbaijan’s architecture was mostly from the 19th century, and it was of Arabian style. The main centre was very prosperous, but the city layout was like a labyrinth with like nine different branches and corridors, it could leave you feeling dizzy.
Tang Yan didn’t know how many bends he took but just when he was about to give up, he finally saw the symbol for the toilet. He was relieved and followed the arrow signs, heading forward again.
He still hadn’t found the toilets when he took a turn right and heard the sound of arguing down the road.
It was mixed with English and what sounded like Azerbaijani.
He couldn’t understand Azerbaijani, but he could hear sporadic English. It should be some tourists arguing with the locals.
He walked forward up to the next bend and stuck his head around the corner to investigate and saw two figures surrounded by a dozen Azerbaijani locals in the middle of the street.
The ‘locals’ were holding metal poles and thick sticks in their hands, looking unfriendly.
The two surrounded were a man and a woman.
The girl was very beautiful, with sharp features.
As for the guy, Tang Yan, actually knew him, he was his opponent in the next round, Evhen Eschenko.
Making the women probably Eschenko’s girlfriend.
Perhaps it was because he was afraid of his girlfriend getting hurt. But confronting the group, Eschenko could be seen compromising and handing over his wallet.
Seemingly the leader of the gang, one of the men stepped forward and took the wallet. Flicking through it he took out a bunch of cash and foreign currency, his eyes lit up but seemingly unsatisfied, he took out a card from the wallet and demanded the pin.
Eschenko’s face was full of anger, but glancing at his girlfriend next to him, he gritted his teeth and told him the pin.
The leader gave a wanton smile and threw it to one of the men behind him.
The man behind him quickly took out a PinSentry card reader and tested the pin, he did it so smoothly it was almost skillful.
Seeing this, Tang Yan understood.
He had heard about things like this in his previous life, even in China. In some sparsely populated areas, locals would surround foreign tourists and force them to buy items or even extort them for protection money.
He looked up and saw that further ahead was the toilets, not far down the street.
What perfect planning, blocking the street to the restrooms and asking for a protection fee.
What the hell was his luck recently, he couldn’t even go to the toilet in peace!
Rumble!
He suddenly felt his stomach squirm and he grunted twice.
Dammit, the toilet was more important than any road protection fee.
Just as he was about to walk over, the gang verified the pin given by Estchenko was correct and were ready to let them go.
But at this moment, several in the group walked up to the leader’s side and whispered something to him whilst looking at Eschenko’s girlfriend.
Although Estchenko couldn’t understand Azerbaijani, seeing their gaze on his girlfriend, he could imagine their skewed thoughts.
It was clear they didn’t have good intentions.
The two sides immediately fell into tension.
But at this time, Tang Yan had walked out.
It wasn’t that he wanted to play hero and save the beauty, but that his stomach really couldn’t hold back.
The gang preparing to act soon noticed Tang Yan.
Tang Yan pointed to the toilet in the distance, and then waved his hand again trying to indicate that he just wanted to use the toilet.
The leader’s mouth stretched out as a smile appeared on his lips. His expression clearly read that he had spotted another ‘business’ opportunity.
He grumbled a few words, then two of his people headed towards Tang Yan with a smile on their faces.
That smile was obviously not for him, but his money.
Tang Yan also stepped forward at this, not saying a word, he rushed towards the two thugs, and he kicked out with his right foot, smashing directly into the thug on the right.
Bam!
It was just an ordinary ruffian. How could his reaction speed be compared with a boxers, he took the kick right to the chest and flew back.
Gasp!
Not only were the other thugs dumbfounded, but even the gang leader and Eschenko were dumbfounded.
The gang leader almost wanted to shout: “Dammit we hadn’t even threatened you yet. What the hell was that kick for! Sh*t! Can’t you wait and discuss things!”
Tang Yan didn’t even stop. While they were still in a daze, he sent a right hook crashing towards the other thug.
Since he had intervened, he might as well end this as quickly as possible after all he couldn’t hold it much longer!
