King Of Sports - 212 A Royal Invite
The next day, Tang Yan headed to the suburbs with the advertisement film crew. The shooting location of the advert turned out to be in a pleasant pasture.
At 70 meters, Tang Yan was encroaching upon the point of perfection, the location of his shot was well within his control.
Because of this, filming went very smoothly. The shooting process originally scheduled to last five days was seemingly pointless as it looked like they would finish well ahead of time.
Snickers (UK) Vice President followed the shooting throughout, and was full of praise for Tang Yan’s performance.
The advertising shoot went smoothly and after two days of shooting, most of the scenes were completed.
When filming for the second day ended, Tang Yan was preparing to head back to the hotel with Zhuang Jiajie, when they were stopped by the sound of someone calling their names.
Tang Yan turned around to see that it was the (UK) Snickers Vice President, Emile Harold, who he heard from the crew was said to be the nephew of the Duke of Westminster.
Along with Emile, there was a man in royal military uniform.
The clothes and appearance of the man next to Emile greatly surprised Tang Yan.
“Hello Mr. Tang, I’m Baron McCann. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Seeing Tang Yan look over, the man said with respect.
Hearing the title Baron, Tang Yan was shocked. Baron was a noble title.
“Hello, Baron McCann, it’s an honour to meet you.” Tang Yan replied politely, whilst buzzing with curiosity as to what a real life noble could want from him.
“I’m here with an invitation letter from Prince William, please take a look.” McCann said, handing over a letter respectfully.
Tang Yan accepted the letter with even more shock and doubt.
A Prince!
An invitation letter from a Prince!
And Prince William as well of all things!
There were many princes all over the world, but Prince William was undoubtedly amongst the most striking. He was the first son of Britain’s Crown Prince Charles and the second in the line of succession to the British throne.
Queen Elizabeth II was still alive in her 90’s, and Charles was almost seventy. Which made Prince William, now almost 29, likely to be the first to take the throne before the age of 50.
Receiving an invitation from Prince William was equivalent to receiving an invitation from the royal family, which was a glorious thing for anyone.
Tang Yan uncovered the sealing wax and took out the invitation letter.
The content of the invitation letter was neatly written, and the signature and seal of Prince William was also attached, it was a very formal invitation letter.
He speed read through it, buzzing with curiosity and interest.
And was shocked at what was written, though to be fair, no matter what was written he would have been shocked. It was a bloody letter from a Prince.
It turned out that Prince William was going to be hosting an archery show in the Palace Garden at Buckingham Palace. So hearing that Tang Yan was in the UK, he decided to invite him as a guest and to perform.
The invitation letter noted the time and place of the event, as well as some of the big name guests who would be present. In addition to some of the Duke’s of the British Royal Family, there would also be ambassadors from other nations.
“This is a great opportunity for you.” Zhuang Jiajie also read over the invitation and whispered to Tang Yan.
Tang Yan nodded and said to Baron McCann: “Please let Prince William know, I’ll be there.”
“Then I thank you ahead of time on behalf of Prince William.” Baron McCann said with his right hand on his chest as he bowed to Tang Yan.
Originally the advert was meant to take about a week to film but because of Tang Yan’s efficiency and how quickly they got through everything it was successfully shortened to 3 days. So after the next day when they finished everything off, Tang Yan was free to attend the event.
…
Buckingham Palace was the official residence of Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family of the United Kingdom. It was also one of the rare few royal palaces still in use today. It was a national landmark of London and Britain. A place to host royal events and state banquets for important foreign dignitaries.
The Palace Garden was a large private park situated at the rear of Buckingham Palace and where Prince William would be hosting the archey show.
Tang Yan and Zhuang Jiajie were picked up from the hotel in an Aston Martin and driven to the palace.
Looking through the car window, Tang Yan saw the appearance of the palace.
The square-shaped neoclassical architecture of the palace revealed its grand and ancient aura. At the front, the royal coat of arms and the royal standard representing the British monarchy were hung. The palace was surrounded by iron railings, with a square outside. At the front of the famous square was the Victoria Memorial.
Although not as vast and as old as the Forbidden City in China, the palace still gave of a solemn regal air.
It was now October and Buckingham Palace was now inaccessible to the general public.
But since Tang Yan was invited by Prince William as a guest, after circling around to the back entrance of Buckingham Palace, the car passed through the gates and drove into the Palace Garden.
Before the car entered the backyard, Tang Yan saw the royal flag wrapped in a crown of roses hanging from the top of the palace. Which indicated that Queen Elizabeth II was in the palace.
The Palace Garden covered an area of more than 42 acres. It was a very large park and Prince William loved sports so he had hosted several events here before such as football games and polo matches.
The life of Prince William was not much different from the life of a Chinese prince during the feudal period. It was likely even this archery show was held on his whim.
After getting out of the car, he was greeted by Baron McCann who had delivered him the invitation letter yesterday. He was followed by two guards. He seemed to be a captain in the Royal Guard.
“Prince William is currently being occupied by the foreign ambassadors, which is why he can’t come down to greet you. The Prince is very sorry for this and I must express my sincere apologies on his behalf.” Baron McCann said as soon as he came up.
Tang Yan didn’t care too much and after nodding, he walked to the archery gallery under the guidance of McCann.
At the gallery, Baron McCann asked him to wait here for a while, and then left.
What surprised Tang Yan was that he didn’t see anyone else.
Was he the only one performing?
Zhuang Jiajie was also very surprised, but after thinking it over, he was excited. If Tang Yan was truly the only one, then this was definitely VIP treatment.
“Hahaha maybe Prince William is one of your 3 million followers.” Zhuang Jiajie said to Tang Yan with a chuckle.
“Are you sure he even knows about Weibo?” Tang Yan replied with a grin.
About five or six minutes later, Baron McCann returned bringing with him a suprise.
Tang Yan and Zhuang Jiajie were confused to see that there was a teenager behind him, looking him over, the kid actually looked to be even younger than Tang Yan, looking only 16 or 17 years old.
