Knight in Another World (Complete) - Chapter 77:Home
Bypassing the troublesome airport security, Sherry comfortably sat on the airplane seats. She hummed happily to herself, excited to finally go home. Sitting beside her, Ping shot Sherry a quick glance. She wore a wide smile on her face, her dimples as defined as they could be, and eyes so narrow from joy you wondered how she could see. In short, she was the epitome of happiness. Sherry was even tapping her fingers on the arm rest, a habit that Ping knew she did when nervous or excited.
‘Is she that excited to meet him?” Ping thought to himself, somewhat bitter that his daughter had grown so big and had matured so early.
Sherry: Finally, I could escape Queensland’s humid weather!
Sherry’s good mood was maintained throughout the entire three hour flight. She even started to whistle, only to stop when she realised that she couldn’t, only pitiful blowing sounds could be heard from her pout lips. It was then, that everything collapsed under itself.
“Ahaha, no, this can’t be.” Sherry muttered to herself, crying inside. Under the confused gazes of her parents, Sherry dragged her suitcase back into the airport and walked through the automatic glass doors. She instantly felt that sweet blast of cool air blessing her soul, and walked back out feeling satisfied. Then a nasty heat wave hit her yet again, the chills felt from the almighty air conditioning was nowhere to be found, it was just her, in the Australia outdoors, embracing the stupid heat yet again. “Why is it so hot!!!”
Ping: Ah, what was I expecting? She’s mine alright.
Ping shook his head and got into the taxi while chiding Sherry to quit dawdling. Sherry got into the taxi, half expecting the air condition to be on full blast. Disappointingly, it was not. All she could do was bear with the sweltering heat whilst lamenting her lack of control in regards to magic. If only, if only she was good at controlling her magic, she could have cast a cooling magic on herself while preventing others from feeling it.
Sherry: I’m miss Dylan, no, I miss Fir~~~~~!!!
Sherry soon got over it and by the time they got home, she was single-mindedly happy to just chill on her beloved bed and use a shower that she actually knew how to use. Ah, how blessed one was to be at home.
An even cut a plate of fruit and brought it to the living room for the two sloths to eat. They thanked her and ate without pausing and continuously gazing at the television.
“(Shi Ming, don’t you think its time we met your roommate?)” An asked as she sat down on the couch and grabbed a grape with her.
“Hmm?” Sherry hummed, shoving a slice of apple into her mouth. She chewed frantically and swallowed. “(What do you mean?)”
“(I know we said we would respect your choices, but shouldn’t you allow us to at least get to know the man who had been living in our house for an indefinite amount of time?)” An reasoned.
“(Your mother is right. Just as we respect you, you should respect us.)” Ping added.
“(But you guys already met him, at the dinner.)” Sherry responded.
Ping crossed his arms across his chest and spoke with a bellyful of righteousness. “(It’s not the same. We need to have a heart to heart talk. Man to man.)”
“(What will you even talk about?)” Sherry asked.
“(You don’t need to know. It stays between me and him.)”
“(Don’t worry, Shi Ming. Your dad won’t do anything rude to him.)”
Sherry puffed her cheeks and frowned. “(He’s not even staying here anymore.)”
“(Ah, that reminds me, where is he?)” An gasped.
“(Dylan’s at Janine’s place. He’s there as her maid.)”
“(At Janine’s place? Do her parents know?)”
“(Uncle and Aunty already gave her the okay to invite anyone she wants over. Even Charlotte lives there.)” Sherry explained.
“(That’s fine, I guess.)” Ping nodded. “(Will he be staying there or come back when we leave?)”
“(I don’t know? He said he’ll move out once he is financially stable. But he only just got a job at Janine’s so I don’t know how long it will take.)” Sherry said as she lazily leaned on her hand.
Ping raised his eyebrows. “(Then how long will that take?)”
Sherry shrugged. “(A few years? I don’t know.)”
Ping narrowed his eyes but resisted and eventually just sighed. “(Anyways, tell him I want to meet him tomorrow. One on one, you two can go out shopping in the meanwhile.)”
“(Why can’t I be there?)” Sherry complained.
“(Aiyah, just listen to your dad.)” An leaned in to whisper into Sherry’s ear. “(He’s just jealous of that boy. Not only is he buffer, he’s also got your attention.)”
As Ping could hear them, he went slightly red before turning his attention back to the TV. The ladies saw him and could not help but to break into laughter.
At some point in time, Sherry excused herself from the group and retreated to her room. She flopped onto her bed and gazed at the white ceiling before whispering the magic words and calling Dylan.
“Hey.” She whispered.
“Sherry!”
“What are you doing?”
“I’m making lunch for Janine and Charlotte. They suddenly nagged for handmade burgers so I had to search how to make them. They’re such a bother, aren’t they?”
“Haha, seems like a hassle.”
“Don’t get me started about the mess they make.”
“You must do a lot of cleaning a day.”
“Mhm,- ah, Fir, can you pass the salt?”
“You sound busy. Did I call at a bad time?”
“No, its fine. Don’t worry about it. I like talking to you.”
Sherry slightly paused before shaking it out of her head. “I called to tell you that I’m back!”
“Hmm, you’re back? Wait, you’re back? You’re back?!”
“Ahaha, yeah, I’m back.”
“Welcome back!” Dylan laughed. “I missed you so much.”
Haha, it seemed that Dylan was getting a bit too excited.
“Sorry to burst your bubble, but my dad wants to see you tomorrow.” Her voice sounded so calm amidst the joy.
“…Pardon?”
“My dad wants to see you tomorrow.” Sherry repeated.
“He wants to see me? Why?” The contrast of the tone in his voice was so sharp that it was beautifully funny.
“He just wants to get to know you. Don’t worry about it. Worst comes worst, you run away. You’re stronger anyways.” As always, Sherry gave the best advice.
“Sherry~!” Dylan whined.

Sherry: I love you.
Dylan, blushes: I love you too.
Sherry: This is why you gotta take initiative in your life.
Dylan: Mm, Author purposely made me stall. It’s her fault.
Author: No! It’s your personality and values! Not me! And how are you here?! I kicked you out!
Dylan: I’m the protagonist. I have the world as my ally.
Author: But I’m the god of this world?
Sherry: Then it’s the power of love.
Tony:……*Flims everything for blackmail*
Author: You just said it out loud, you a hole!
